my DIY porche caliber conversion
Roy replied to GD51LA's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I dont rate the EVO upgrade kit . This would appear far better suited to std Nissan master cylinders and pedal leverage ratios. I personally would never run the EVO kits , even if i had ABS. These look a nicer solution Curious to know what caliper you found for the rears. I have never been able to find a nice Porsche 4 pot rear, even going old school 928/944 This looks on track for being a decent enough upgrade. Price is up for individuals to weigh up...but on paper it seems a better upgrade than the EVO calipers which based on piston size makes them a huge leap from std and how proven aftermarket kits from AP, Alcon, Bremo, Stoptech go about their kitd. But folk seem to give positive feedback so?!?! If you are drilling rotors etc may be worth looking at Mercedes ML 343mm rotors -

HiLol...was a rev up since he doesnt want to share any info. I am guessing he will install bleed nipples before he tries to chirp 3rds Looks like Cayenne calipers on a 324-332mm rotor of sorts as it all still fits under a 17" wheel.?!?!?!?! Probably work quite well on the smaller rotor. Problem with Cayenne calipers is they come with varying piston sizes depending what model Cayenne they are off. You need to have the ones with the smallest pistons to have a real chance of it being a good bolt on setup otherwise without ABS it will just be locksville -

I hope thats only a dummy/trial fit otherwise that is going to be close to the worst performing brake setup EVER -
What do you mean by WTAC compliant? I thought you had to use std mounting points...isnt that anything that bolts to the std hub? Curious to see how these go, from memory you still have the ABS so intersting to see how the ABS reacts

I love how Sky are making excuses for Louise...blaming the direction of car development as the reason Louise has lost his advantage over Britney

The perso n that bought my T67- 6 boob setup had clearance problems on his RB25. Fitted my RB20 fine so guess the easy fix is RB20 rocker covers

Maximum Boost On -9s With Standard Headgasket And Studs.
Roy replied to No Crust Racing's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I have been trying to tell folk here that if you are running E85 than the -7s will make more power. The smaller, later model -9 compressor seems to do the same job with a smidgen better response on 98-100. But generally when bolted to an engine and I have observed the difference is usually in the tune, health of engine and quality of bolt ons....not a night and day difference due one or the other turbo. ON 98-100 On E85 they seem to make a bit more power when you wind the extra psi in where as the -9s hit a wall sooner. I guess its to do with E85 masking as few little things and ultimately the little bit of extra flow that is in the different trim/aero compressoris realied with the -7s. I have seen far more 340-360 rwkws results with -7s then I have on -9s and generally 330-350rwkws with E85 One thing i think I can safely say is I have never seen -7s that are more responsive than -9s. I am curious to know how this has come to be summised as a reliable rule of thumb. Not to say its not true, I am just kicking around my experience, most reliable being two identical R34 N1 engines with the same Jap workshop ported head, same cams and near identical pipes etc and -7s and -9s with the same Sydney tuner. The trend observed with those cars is generally what I see play out with other setups. Too many supposed N1s arent N1s and people then equate N1s to being -7s yadda yadda yadda Either way bang on 350awkws is a stout-one of the better result for a -9 setup! -
Well just confimed the turbo for the Cossie them 7670 is probably too big Hanog on ...is this Pete?

Careful...you will break down on the last lap of a race like Toyota at Le Mans when you use Wiggins clamps Looks neat. A friend who has owned a few ex Gibson cars say that over time they can vibrate open so not a bad idea to just put a cable tie around them. Seems odd but i am not going to argue as mine are all hidden by diffuser etc and not accessible and be a head fark if they ever opened.

A Boy's Love For His Rb20
Roy replied to Roy's topic in Members Cars, Project Overhauls & Restorations
Baby steps doing dome work a few nights this week. Got thre front end all back together with Nismo inner upper mount. Alloy hubs, modded Ikeya LCA, Noltec upper arm and all new king pin bearings and wheel bearings. New RCA tie rod ends. In the rear got the new diff gusseted cradle all dummy fitted with Nismo inner pick up braces all dummy fitted. So over weekend will grease up all the bushes and get that all bolted home too -
Any particular reason why you booted the HKS manifold?

Near new conditon stainless steel exhaust. Has been sitting on the shelf collecting dust for a while. Font pipes are 65mm into 80mm exhaust. Was going to keep this for rego purposes before doing custom but bugger it...will worry about a street exhaust if I run into noise issues with my custom twin system. $450 from the MX front pipes. Sorry about the pics showing dust and crud. If i need to I will give them a wipe down so that you can see the excellent, low km condition
