  1. Romain blew up when he had a shot at a win in Spain...would have won given Vettel blew up iirc. He moved over repeatedly for Kimi...when Kimi announced he was leaving and wasnt given on track preference look at the back half of 2013. I know i am a fanboy but the guy trounced Kimi in 2013 and despite a turbulent 2012 qualified well and had some good races to go with the bad
  2. Ah, the man with answers. Looking at your FB pics i see a GTR tank. Are the GTST tanks all the same steel tanks or do the awd cassis have their own type of tank? I ask as i want to put the plastic GTR tank into my rwd GTSt and some say they dont bolt in? Can you clarify what needs to be done?
  3. So who did your Accusump setup? Can you describe the install? I am about to rip mine back out and go about it another way...lol not sure if I am getting too clever for my own good. As my unit is in the boost hard up against the back of the seat behind the strut tops I am relocating my valve to the engine bay..thinking is it should react a little quicker only having to pressurise 60mm rather than 2m of 10AN line running under the car
  4. Wing...you have A-O link in your sig. Are you the fella behind the EVO-Brembo kits? If so can you actually speak to the point FBRacing makes about over braking....having too much force when all you really want to achieve is sufficient cooling? I ask as I have run way too many brakes and didnt like the F50 -355mm setup. I found the F50 was ok on a 324mm setup but not as good as the F40 setup. I currently run F40 sized 4 pot caliper on a 343mm and am trialling a smaller piston area again on a 343mm once I get the car back on the road. I have still found the best caliper rotor setup that you can bolt onto a Skyline is the 6 pot AP CP5555 caliper. It is no accident that it runs less piston area than std and results in awesome modulation on cars with the std booster setup and no ABS. The EVO Brembos with their 46 and 40mm pistons are huge and having experienced the feel difference from going from AP CP5555 to F50s on the same rotor size with similar pad...well, they had a lot more bite and far easier to lock. Though found they were still ok to modulate. Going from F50 with its 44/40 pistons to the EVO Brembo with 46/40 is a fairly big jump again on the front of a Nissan If you are running 324mm in a 17" wheel I think its a no brainer to stick with what you have...and just optimise. I know my car was fine with those brakes for years and I kept going back to them after trialling various brake setups as they performed so well and in some cases worked better. I only gave up on them as the car has quite the appetite for front rotors as Sandown was hard on brakes so moved to a 343mm rotor with a better, more snug radial mount caliper to fit under my 17" wheels.
  5. Interesting read.... http://plus.autosport.com/premium/feature/6594/choosing-a-driver-for-f1-in-2016/?_ga=1.134916533.59034415.1433521511 I am biased but hoping the fact that Ferrari were in serious contract negotiations with Romain pre signing of Vettel means that giving Kimi the boot at the end of the year should see him promoted. Hulk, deserves a good seat but I am rooting for James Allisons time at Lotus and suspicion that he was a driving opinion behind discussions with him last year will see a rocket put up Vettel to ensure that both drivers are pushing to keep Fezz at the pointy end...something Kimi cant do Hulk...give him Massa's seat. He is driving well this year, but I understand there is an option for next year...and frankly time for some new blood and reckon Hulk vs Bottas would be a great combination for Williams and their best chance to stepping up against Mercedes next year Oh...and FOM still havent called me about a job for next year
  6. 2014 Caterham chassis sold at auction for 50k!!!!
  7. Nice...I have done all my rear end in silver too. Should be easy to pick all the leaks in my car
  8. God Lewis talks shit! In BBC interview he has stated how "its funny" that as an 8yr old the parents of other kids he catted against used to tell him that he didnt have it. His teachers at school and headmaster said he wouldnt achieve anything.....WTF is this guy on about with his victim complex!!!!
  9. Didnt bother with his other book
  10. Doesnt matter what the bar is...just use some 450 mild steel bar nachuned flat on two sirfaces and turn down the end to the id of the tube diam. Then do a full pen but weld...wouldnt hurt to dowel or plug weld a 4mm pilot hole through the bar-insert just for insurance
  11. Williams are rather sgit at strategy. Lotus in 2013 got it right with Romain...give yourself track positiin and stay in the fight as long as possible. They were 1-2 and simply got stage fright...no matter what Smedley says. Rain came and mattered for 0 anyway. Meanwhile Dan sucked...Lotus sucked....but finished MWs book and wasnt a bad read There was talk of links of Flav to Aston but wont happen. I love how Pat is a clean skin yet Flav is tarnished by Singapore events...even though cleared by FIA of having knowledge...unlike Pat. Really hope Bottas doesnt go to Fezz...Hulk has done so much kore to deserve to be there...Bottas cant even outqualify Massa at the moment
  12. Lol they do...we just need to be a little innovative. What size are you after?
  13. Yeh the AO50s that were near bald blew me away. Worn AO50s IMO comfortably better than NEW RE55s! I went about 2k heavier in front and rear...i suspect the Teins run less bump and rebound vs Bilsteins which seem quite firm even with softer springs
  14. sO ch10 couldnt turn a dime with coverage. i am paying $20 for internet access. $50 for Foxtel Play just to watch tonights race in a hotel! Farking better be a good race!
  15. I think you will find that Bens are more like $1000 a corner and then you need strut tops and springs. Koni are wjat i am doing next. Though i just grabbed my second pair of RPM Teins as i now run GTR fork type shock mount For the record this is Bilsteins with brand new (scrubbed) RE55s Vs RPM Tein RA with AO50s off a friends EVO that had just won Targa Tas early modern (ie very worn but a still sticky tyres) So different shock and tyre but engine, arms, turbo etc all the same. The RA setup has an extra half point of camber on the front
  16. Watching Button interview driving from home to circuit with wife and SkyTV . I rate his Mrs but my god; F1 WDC McLaren driver and his company car is a Type R Civic .
  17. My 2c...mid level quality shocks will all be about the same quality and performance if they are built right for the car. My Bilsteins were ok but when the car got too quick for them the Bilstein people i spoke to all kinda/think/maybe if we just freshen them up as the valving is very good for a range if springs etc. SK did a great job with various cars that he built setups for and that experience and wealth of knowledge made many good Bilstein setups. But the std Whiteline Bilsteins built around the same shock really struggled in my car when the pace started picking up I wasnt confident that the result would be what i want as the local Bilstein guys were far more well versed in historic cars or race cars...not my club Skyline that was a rwd R32 at that RPM on the other hand were local and as Fatz points out...comfortable on street and for me i could genuinely attribute about a 1.2sec inprovement at PI on the same set of tyres...lol just more worn old RE55s. Car so much more stable so more time was in it as i could then start to think about pushing harder So if someone can get the same damping and spring combo out of a Bilstein, Koni MCA etc then it will be a good thing. I recall Snowman on here went from RPM built Teins to full house MCAs and the car was worse but after some tuning and tweaking the thing was equally epic...winning Targa in his 34. What the net gain was going to full house MCAs after purchase, rebuilding and development was over the Teins???? I know Ben Manion in his R32 GTSt running Penske probably leave my RPM Teins for dead but for the money RPM charge they are brilliant arrive, drive, perform option. If you can happily tell the shop what needs to be done to improve the performance then there are other options...but i cant say if it needs more spring vs more damping or less rebound etc.If i was as clever as Ben with my bum connected to my brain and my mouth and could wwork with Penske dealer to refine the setup then i would love to...lol but i dont So happy with what i have and i suspect the free valving change MCA offer in some way proves that they supply many chassis, car combinations and their std offerings may be improved over what they offer std. RPM seem perfect for up to 450awkw GTRs running semis with std or only marginally improved aero And 6 seconds...even at PI? Odd...surely more to the story....you must have had a blown right front shock from a GSR Sigma since std shock EVO 9 on semis and tune with exhaust did easy 1.55s. No way imo that car is doing 49s with different shocks!!!
  18. Well hope to get my copy of MW's book tomoz... in the meantime...here is a juicy tidbit... “When Ann (Neal, Webber’s partner) later pressed (Christian Horner) about why the team had never reprimanded Seb or issued any punishment for the ‘Multi 21’ incident, he admitted that the team had received a two-page letter from Seb’s lawyer a few days after the Malaysian race stating that they were in breach of his contract by giving him an ‘unreasonable instruction/team order’,” Webber wrote. “Whatever (Vettel’s) thinking was, when he overtook me I wasn’t so much angry as very sad that the team had reached this sorry state.
  19. All off a running cradle. Cradle has been scrapped leaving the RHS & LHS assemblies for sale. No damage to arms....expect if you want to use hubs it would be wise to put new wheel bearings in them. Asking $100 a side or $180 for both sides. Located in eastern suburbs of Melb. Aslo got the KAAZ diff for sale http://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/456441-r32-gtst-kaaz-diff-15/ As per pics no handbrake assembly
  20. Wont fit R34 people. KAAZ site says it will fit RB25DET R33s. I decided to stick with the 4.1 diff ratio in my car so the KAAZ diff has the std R32 GTSt 4.3 diff ratio . All complete but not correctly torqued so whoever buys it can just swap over the centre to their diff or send this unit off for new bearings and backlash adjustment and blt in as a complete assembluy Have axles for sale here ... http://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/457869-hcr32-gtst-axles-hubs-lca-upper-arms/
  21. Vinyl wrap...i would never paint a car again. Even if you pay good money for the paint its never as good as factory and gets chipped way easier when on the track
  22. Mclaren and Red Bull are sooooo bad right now its giving FI, STR and even Sauber a walk up opportunity at points at most GPs. Wasnt a bad race...thankfully Rosberg drove well. Cant believe how shit Kimi is all of a sudden. He has fallen off a cliff. Time to get Rimain or Hulk in that seat. Bottas can stay at Williams
  23. Can you machine the TD06L2 (61mm) exhaust housing to take the larger TD06 turbine (65mm)?
  24. Sorry. Sold Sorry Cev...none of that gear
