I have a spare TD06L2-20G and a spare TD06SH-25G, along with spare manifold and gate. So we can have your car at 260rwkws or whatever you want in the space of a weekend! Seriously, i have so much shit laying around...i need to start selling it to fund finishing off the car and stop farking with it when its not broken. I will know by the end of the month whether i am entering.

GIVE ME KEYS TO SILVER S13!!!! It is safer this way. Past form shows that i bin my car but never others cars

Really, its such an impossible question to answer. But put simply if the car is moving sideways then it isn’t moving forwards. If your steering angle is sharper then it needs to be then your lateral load is higher then it needs be which means tyres are being asked to do more work then need be….but that’s in the classroom. In a light NA car then it would kill you. In big heavy cars that flop all over the track and have the sort of power only racing cars had in past decades then a bit of crossed up action doesn’t cost you near as much.

The perfect road legal RB20 would be rebuilt with just 81mm pistons, run a little more compression, say 8.8 or 9.0:1 and run the std plenum and exhaust manifold. Throw a GT-RS on it with a nice tune, or even better a 2835 Pro with internal gate and it would be a legal looking 250rwkws that would drive nice. A 2530kai could well be the better option for a punchier 225odd rwkws If you can get the 26 crank and rods cheaply enough then go for it, only the pistons all of a sudden become more expensive as they are customs. I grabbed a set of Tomei RB24 pistons for an absolute steal as it seems nobody wants RB20 gear This bottom end with an 2835 would be a very nice, legal looking engine. All those complaing about how the RB20 head flows, it is of course using smaller valves then an RB25 etc and ports are smaller. BUT, look at the SR20 which shares the 2L capacity. The RB20 has a smaller combustion chamber courtesy of its smaller bore, but as a ratio of inlet and exhaust valve to cc of cylinder it still has a better ratio of valve area to cylinder cc. So i would argue that an RB20 would live with a bump in displacement far easier then an SR20 going to SR22 etc. From my limited personal experience with aftermarket cams in the RB20, they have plenty of cam in them std too. Look at the duration compared to the RB25 and RB26, albeit with less lift. If i try cams then for 2L i wont go over 256/8.5. If i ever need to rebuild my engine using the Tomei pistons and RB26 crank, rods etc i have then i may entertain the idea of going to 260/10.25mm cams because guess what...seems nobody wants the solid lifter gear and springs for an RB20/RB25DE/VG30 so they can be had for a steal as well and have them under my couch as well:)

Thats what all the people with RB25s/26s/28s/30s in rwd platforms keep telling me. Makes for a nicer street car no doubt...but put your foot down and all this torque that people pull their dicks over just fries tyres it seems. Fun but no good when you are trying to get out of a corner quick at the track. Thats why personally i have stuck with the RB20, well thats enough of a reason for me anyway. The perceived improvement in torque means gearing, tyre size and quality of alignment, shocks and suspension components all get called into question and the law of diminishing returns hits home HARD because it all costs tend of thousands to maybe go a tad quicker at the track....for the street, meh a Getz is more fun becas eyou can rev its guts out and not lose your licence I said it before and will say it again.... 1. People who put RB25s in R32s are the sort of guys who sleep with their girlfriend's ok looking friend because she is easy! 2. People who put RB30s into R32s are the sort of people who prefer rohypnol to romance.

Hey Ash, are you calling 2530s VERY LAGGY? The 16G has a smaller compressor then the 18G. I am willing to bet that the setup would be very similar to a 2530 setup. Considering that a TD05-16G is effectively an externally gated T517Z then .... would be interesting.

I recall seeing in a Jap magazine an article on a car running the twin TD05-18Gs, the ones with the bigger bellmouth inlets and the thing appeared to be an animal. They looked to be equiv/better then 2530s because the manifolding and twin gates. They are similar sort of turbos to the EVO crowd so dont really understand why they woul dbe lappy, they are only 350hp turbos or there abouts

You still have 10 days, Team Last Minute doesnt get into its stride until 36hrs to the start

Need to try and set up the flat shift on the Vipec so that irrespective of ho wlaggy it is, with the 4.6 diff i can just flat shift the bastard everywhere and keep it on the boil... ...and really, i would be interested in keeping this hoax going if Superlap was next week. But its months away and no point starting the mind games yet. Plus anyone that knows me i will sell all this shit i have accumulated for my car before installing any of it

Sneak up to the Cricketers Arms after sessions! My car just made 317rwkws with the new TD06-25G, so just hope the weak ass used PPG SR20 gearset holds up in the RB20 box

Will get some pictures up tonight or Tuesday at the latest. Great turbo for any 2L , hell responsive on an RB25. The below dyno is on my std RB20 -
Wrecking R32 Gts-t

If you have the std fuel pump and cradle then i need one. -
For the money i think you will be hard pressed to beat the Tein Super Streets. Been in plenty of cars running them and they are nice things. I used to run off the shelf Bilsteins and frankly they need to be valved by someone that knows what they are doing to be as good as the Super Streets.

My Rb20 with a TD06 makes 200rwkws at 118km/h in 4th gear on its way to 260rwkws (between 130kmh and 182km/h it makes over 240rwkws) With the extra compression and displacement of the RB25 i hope they can make a bit more grunt at that road speed. If they cant then i suggest people throw R32 diff gearing in their car, far cheaper

What about one of those stroker kits out of th eUS for the VQ35, dont they get them out to 4.2L or something truly silly ?

Hey piss off people...you are taking pot shots at my hero, I mean it may take me to being 65 until i have enough coin to bed a babe and i need to believe if i am fatm ugly and generally suffering from a bad attitude that it wont stop me from scoring the sort of girl i used to bat off to at age 14

LOL, i only spoke to Marcus on Tuesday to tell him i still have his Wind Master in a box in my living room Maybe i should claim it Seriously, who needs an oil cooler. As it burns off you are actually getting lighter so helping your chance of improvin lap times...just like as your fuel load burns off

Trust Td06l2-208 With 8cm Housing
Roy posted a topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Hi folks, have had this turbo sitting around for about 6 months as i was planning on getting a new centre ball bearing, water cooled cartridge for it from a turbo rebuilder in Sydney. The aim was to see if there really is any difference between plain bearing and ball bearing. But, interest and funds and other things in life are such that when my POS gets back on the road i couldnt be bothered with this sort of trial and error at my own expense anymore. SO up for sale is my spare TD06L2-20G. It runs an 8cm housing. It is used but wheels are fine and no abnormal shaft movement or play. A word of warning, i bought this off yahoo auctions where it was a sold as a used runner, but being used and something i have not trialled myself, be prepared to perhaps get it rebuilt ($400-500) I dont expect this to be the case, but i cant personally vouch for something i have not run. Asking $1350. If you are interested in a bolt on setup can do it with my used Greddy manifold and gate, with some cooler pipes and lines for $2500 -
Any pictures of the guts of the muffler. I have a trust ti exhaust, i grabbed the twin muffler version as its meant to be reasonably quiet..,but the ID of the rear muffler is only about 2.5" or so

Even with a 2530, i have been in several RB20s with 2530s now and sure they may be making boost a few hundred rom earlier but the engines dont really start to pull until 4,500rpm. Turbos like the 2530 do give you more meat between 3,500 and 4,500rpm but when you consider that a bigger turbo will boost harder as the engine comes onto cam at about 4,500rpm the actual difference isnt that great. So a 2530 will give you about 220-230 and nice drivability but still far worse then std (but better then any 450hp hi-flow will ever hope to match) Then you can go something bigger like a 2835 of GT-RS which will boost a few hundred rpm later, closer to 4,300-4,500rpm as the engine comes on cam. But rather then nose diving over 6,500rpm because of the tiny hot side of the turbo you can actually get more meat into the 7,000rpm rev band. Its been a while since i looked, but the lil 2530 sort of hits peak power at about 6,200rpm and dies off. A bigger turbo (in my case TD06 which isnt too different to a GT-RS) actually hits that sort of peak power at about 6,000rpm on its way to making over 230rwkws all the way between 6,000rpm and 8,000rpm, peaking as high as 260rwkws.) It will make for the far quicker car if you can keep the thing on the boil. But if you are driving between 3,000-5,500rpm then the bigger turbo will lose out . So really depends on what you want. If you want ultimate performance where its harder to go quick and you have to work harder then the GT-RS will make for the quicker car. But if you want lazier, easier power that feels quicker most of the time then the 2530 is a proven, good thing Will line a friend up in his Tomei camed RB20 with 2530 and my std TD06 RB20 for a second gear 40km/h roll on. Will be interesting. I bet he gets the jump but will be itneresting to see if i catch him up????

Where is the track day this weekend...?
-
It is a long way from being anything special...but like all real race cars it has been on fire This is how it used to look, recent respray means it looks a little different but mechanically nothing has really changed since these pics were taken In its warpaint when it was in Unique Cars And by todays standards it makes jack all power But in the next few weeks its finally getting some of the good gear i have been acquiring over the years And an old vid of my first vid of a proper run at PI
-
So some extra pressure behind the injectors doesnt help spray patterns or fuel atomisation?????
-
It will have an RB20 block and Rb20 head....so still very much an RB20 Looking at the wing today, it looks ok and doesnt really look like a GTR wing as its on an R32 GTSt.
