  1. If you are going to be driving the car in hill climbs and tarmac rallies then my 2c is you are mad to delete the ABS, no matter how good a driver you think you are. On changeable roads, where there is moss, dirt, loose gravel etc on certain corners etc then i think the ABS will make you more consistant and quicker overall. On a pure circuit car i can see the sense in deleting the ABS, but not a tarmac rally car. +1 for handbrake shoes, grab some drift ones. I know plenty of people using them for motorkhana work, two people actually went away from the hydraulic setups they had in their cars and went to URAS shoes
  2. I wouldnt waste his time If i get another OS contract then anything could be a goer
  3. There is a long and distinguished list of men with broken hearts proving your point. Tell me a good price for a good home and i will take it
  4. That question has been asked a thousand times on SAU and never answered. Get yourself a good piston catalogue and go through and see the differences in diam, deck heights, compression etc and take a punt
  5. I have a pocket full of Rupees so know i cant afford it, though i do love that car....my R32 is what i have until i have a house and garage...otherwise i would be tempted
  6. LOL, there is still a chance, but i need "Import Baron" to tell me how to get it back to Aus . Will sms you my UK number ..edit. Shit, just rang the guy and took a deposit on Monday Oh well, there is the other one i was looking at last week, only its more expensive
  7. ...and just on the news now here in the UK. Button to team with Hamo in 2010....lol a very ballsy move. Button claims needs a new challenge and Whitmarsh claims they offered no more money then Brawn, but was Buttons decision to be in what he feels will be the more competitive team So, Brawn need to find a quick guy capable of race results week in week out....i cant help but think Heidfeld will get it, or who knows. Would love to see Brawn give Kimi a seat but i dont think Ferrari management will be whispering in his ear to grab him. Who knows, maybe they could spring a real surprise and give Anthony Davidson a seat and keep the dollars in the pocket for engineering the car And what now for Heikki, back to Renault? Surely the new teams would be interested in him but i cant see him being overly excited by any of them. Next year is going to be interesting
  8. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/motorsport...one/8363892.stm Its on BBC news as well!
  9. You read it here first, Button to be little better then Heikki! He is a winger not a worker so wont be able to steal momentum to be equal performances from the team, if Alonso could not perform at hsi best in that team alongside Hamilton then Button is NO CHANCE. The only chance is Whitmarsh will give him the bum sex he will need to stay motivated through the season...as history shows Button doesnt dig very deep when things arent going his way, that was Rubens job during the tough years!
  10. Needs to stay AWD! So what is happening with the R33 now?
  11. Well i was only going over my first reaction to news that Button may be going to McLaren and how i thought it went against the grain of McLaren. But then i realised its not the McLaren we know at the moment....SO, Ron-McLaren would have made a point of signing the bet driver available for the spare seat, and that would be Kimi. If it meant an extra 3-5million he wouldnt have budged. McLaren was synonymous with the best, most professional team with a a budget that allowed them to be. He wouldnt not have baulked at the prospect of spending a few extra dollars to have the best and give Mclaren the best opportunity to earn dollars the next season from sponsors and Bernie. Just think how much more F1 money the teams that come 1-2 compared to those that cme 4-6! That alone will cover any drivers expense. SO here we are at the end of 2009 and i now realise we are not dealing with the same Mclaren. We now have Martin-McLaren which is a different animal to that of the Ron days... i stopped being a McLaren fan when they started dicking my man Coulthard with orders to pull over....so i will enjoy watching them sign Button for bigger money then anyone else will pay for him only for him to be marginally better then Heikki. Rewind the clock i wish Button had partnered Webber at Williams like planned ... rather then duck contracts. People say Webber is over rated, personally i think, even with a WDC in his pocket Button is the most over rated driver on the grid
  12. They are the wrong offset, and i am a tight ass which means i dont spend lots on wheels so forever hunting that bargain 332mm are perfect as you can run Alcon, Brembo, Stoptech rotors etc. Running 343 means i am locked into less variety
  13. This is funny, you are running the same calipers as me, though i am runnng 343mm rotors rather then 324. I have a Trust Ti exhaust as well and the truly scry thing is i hve been looking for 17x9 QFs
  14. LOL, Clint was the man back in the day with RB20 power outputs. Your old car has a good home with Phil Clint, i will take that headlight thingie, PM me your details...oh and if that guy stuffed you around with the tailshaft / crossmember etc i am still looking for one
  15. Stainless steel expands and contracts too much with heat and has is more ductile then MS, stick with OE studs
  16. I assumed the car has air jacks and it is the pressure of the pneumatic system????
  17. So if there is an 89 R32 GTSt i am interested in the UK, what sort of dollars am i looking at for importing and compliancing...assuming i have all the ex Japan paperwork. I am real keen on picking up a car while i am here and rather then sell it when i leave would rather import it back to Aus as its a really nice car. (provided i dont bin it at a cold and slippery Ring )
  18. I just watched side by side a Skaife qualifying lap alongside Marks second lap....again. You guys have done an amazing job with the car
  19. hmmm, drunken night on yahoo has me wth a load of cool bts for my car but not much left for Euro cars... 1999 Golf it is for the next 3 weeks
  20. AMAZING VID! Thanks for posting. Speachless! Huge credit to you all for building that car to the quality you have then to go and show what pace it has! Did i see pocs of an EVO up there as well? How did it go Russ?
  21. Yeh, reports here in the UK are that he ha agree to the terms and will sign by end of the week...with McLaren. I am not the worlds biggest Hamo fan, but after a year of srapping in 2008, binning it whilst on a podium position with a few corners to go etc etc....well in his 4th season Hamo is going to be stronger again....and Button needs to think carefully about how categorically SMASHED he is going to get beaten next year in a McLaren In his rookie year the hack Hamo went wheel to wheel with Alonso and circumstances played a part in them only being seperated by one point. Button is still high on his 2009 WDC where he is confusing luck and opportunity with world beating speed. I so hope this is true as i want to laugh at the 2009 WDC showing how ordinary he is compared to the last 4 WDCs!
  22. ..and spat him out because he was too chewy,. Tough little unwanted love child he is
  23. Absolutely they still need to be designed around an engine. Dont forget the Brawn was one of th emost sensitive on the gri to overheating, i recall two races where they were turning the engine down due to temps and one of those races they hacked away at side pods on race day to get better cooling, Also, the engine you run influences the gearbox you are most likely going to end up running which means the hydraulics are going to be different etc etc...so you want to get the engine in the back of the car ASAP, especialy in the current era of F2 whn hundredths of a second matter
  24. I wonder what Haug meant by a few surprises, Can RBR really be interested in Merc engines, enough to swap Vettel and a wad of cash whereby affording Kimi? The more i think about the more i want it to be true! I ddi read that RBR even thought no announcement has been made have continued with the design of next years car around the Renault V8
  25. If a motor goes pop care to tell (maybe PM) who does the headwork for the engines?
