**my Rb20det Rebuild Questions Advice Needed**
Roy replied to mattR32gtst's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I have been making about 425hp at the fly for a while now and the internals seem pretty happy. Before buying parts be sure to remove the engine and strip it down and make sure you know the root cause of your problem. After stripping you may find that your pistons and rods are fine, but your crank badly damaged from a spun bearing. If thats the case then it would confirm what i suspect and thats the internals are ok for that power, but what you have to work on is the control of oil pressure, oil temperature and coolant temperature. You may find you will just as easily spin another bootm end bearing with a fully forged motor if you have not addressed oil presure and tempeature issues and made sure you keep coolant temp under control as well. So the money you are about to spend on rods and pistons may be better spent on Tomei/Jun/Grex etc oil pump and better oil cooler setup -

Yeh, 3 teams looking competitive. Come on Mark, finish the year strong. I will be watching from Dubai since i couldnt get any bloody tickets to this silly place. Pissed me off watching P1 and seeing empty Grand Stands...nto happy BVernie you thieving fraudster who seems to think that if Hitler was still alive he would have killed off more F1 greats in the interest of the sport

........ sorry.

You are playing with cars. Sometimes peoples best efforts end up with mishaps. I suggest you speak to them, if nothing comes from a frank discussion then put it down to lessons learnt. Trying to chase interstate workshops for renumeration when there wasnt a clear warranty or custody of the part means it will be messy...but its your dime and if you have cheap legal representation?!?!?!

Why is that Ash? For the displacement of each cylinder the RB20 has more valve surface area then an SR20. So other then cam specs cant see why the RB20 would struggle any more then an SR20!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

I used to send money orders to PIARC.

Thats what i was thinking and why i left it so late to confirm i was going! Every GP i have watched, read about or even attended this year had plenty of empty stands. They are not even selling general admission tickets Ringng a few hotels today to see if they have some tickets which i can get through the hotel

Something For Roy The Brake Man
Roy replied to Kaido_RR's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
MMMMMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...BIG BRAKES! I saw the Toyota F1 Brembos on yahoo. A while back they had a single caliper for sale that was damaged and pretty cheap. I really thought chicks would be impressed if i had an F1 caliper on my coffee table....would make my place oh that much more testosterone filled -
I agree. It happens to also be the first GP i ever remember watching as a kid. Fulfilled a long term dream earlier this year doing two days there. Best fun i have ever had in a car! The other track i would love to drive which one day i will hope to is Brazil. I still remember years ago Mansell in the Williams destroying Patrese and the rest of the field. I have had to miss doing Silverstone on this coming Tuesday because i now finish work on Thursday. But looks like i have hood winked somebody in going to Abu Dhabi with me so the watching Webz get his 3rd GP win will have to suffice ") Has anybody ever been to Abu Dhabi? The hotels i have looked at seem terribly expensive

Button shows a bit of "tool factor" ... i deserv the championship, i was the best over the season???? Arrogance makes the champiosnhip. Have to say i was rooting for ol Rubens. He was there driving the wheels off the car when it was a POS as Honda, and Button was just collecting pay slips. Button had a cracker of a start to the season, Rubens had a slow start, but from around Silverstone-Germnay found his qualy feet and had the better end of the year. All in all you cant win 6 of the first 7 races and not win the WDC, though Button thought he would make it look harder then most would have. Webber, oh well, 4th in the Championship and you cant help but wonder is this the only time he will be driving one of the 4 fastest cars on the gid, and get beat by the pilots of the other 3

I am with Dane on this one. No doubt Emo drivers are spoilt with ass tickling dildos, fish finders and electric tooth brushes doing all the stuff the rest of us require a little grey matter for. But at 260rwkws my car isnt challenged for traction at all. And only recently did i really get some decent suspension under my car. i see no reason why a decent S13 chassis cannot handle 300rwkws. I am hoping to be up around 280-300rwkws by years end and still think with decent susp and tyres its not going to be as lively to drive as i had hoped. Adams R33 that was referred to was what i wanted my car to drive like, unfortuantely i wont have the extra 1oorwkws required for that sort of thrill seeking

What's A "better" Turbo Upgrade For A Greddy T67?
Roy replied to 9krpm's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
9krpm, i have a TD06SH-25G at home that i am waiting to try on my car. I mainly grabbed it for the exhaust housing size which i am 50:50 about being able to be switche over to my TD06-20G turbo. I know the T67 housings can be swapped with my TD06-20G, but not sure about the TD06SH-25G. Because, i thought the T67 ran the same exhaust wheel as the TD06SH, but according to that graph of yours Dane thats not the case, which means i dont think i can swap the 10cm housing for the 8cm housing between the TD06S-20G and TD06SH-25G But point is, its on the shelf and whilst not for sale, provided you are nice and careful when installing with regards to priming with oil etc i dont mind if you try it to see if the power it to your liking before you run off and buy one -
Sorry to throw more coper coins at the discussion. But if your car was a CA18DET S13 i would not be so stressed about the quality of thw wheels, but with a heavy, powerful and grippy R35 i think there is cause for concern. Not to say you wll have a problem, but fwiw i would start to hunt down an equiv diam & Offset jap wheel by Rays, Advan, Weds, BBS etc. In the meantime snce you are in Sydney and these are your track rims it may not be a bad idea to after every few track days send a random rim down to an NDT place and see if there are any stress fractures forming. At a minimum see if ROTA can tell you what the weight rating of the wheel is???? I suppose i just cringe as when i did CAMS scrutineering wheels shearing at race meetings did happen, and cars failing scrutineering because of visible signs of fatigue meant cars got parked and not allowed to race in fear of the wheels literally falling off
