  1. Lots of Chinese money in Singapore, and just lots of money in general. Land, well they dont have any so encourage ppl to use public transport rather then cars which equals congestion. Taxes and more taxes means you get paid crazy money just to sustain a std of living. The cost of grog combined with cost of cars means i dont think they havea drink driving problem A little hatch is something like S$65,000, and i mean thats a hatch that would cost less then $20,000 in Aus. But there are plenty of people buying R35s, the only prestige car i see more of is Maserati Quattroportes. And for the record, R35 drivers dont seem to know how to drive slowly, they are always blasting up the street as though they just picked it up from the dealership
  2. Everyone? Its not my birthday ?!!!??
  3. Yeh, already looked at what a personal import from Singapore would cost http://classifieds.singaporeexpats.com/sho...p/product/61020 Rent - S$9,300 per month. Pint of beer S$18 Almost makes the asking price for a GTR cheap S$288,000 All said and done the asking price in Aus seems pretty fair compared to some other markets. I cant see myself ever spending that sort of money on a car. A Nissan at that, and one that looks like a Daewoo
  4. But RB25s are for lazy drivers who dont want to work hard for their performance Dont get me started on RB30s! R33 is simply the better car on paper. Problem is cars of this age are all so different with regards to mods and condition. Your friends RB20 may not be as well bolted together as your RB25...soooo many variables. Here is an example of my RB20 vs two RB25s. So it all depends on the particular cars you want to compare as to what your opinion will be
  5. Fark, if the cooler and piping comes back up for sale then i am your man (Fark being in a different time zone )
  6. What makes you think that "hiogh end" cars use steel brakes? They are all alloy of various compositions. Certainly not steel. Rotors may be steel, but even then most high end cars have alloy hats with carbon or steel rotors.
  7. Personally, its overkill to use the TD06 with the 6cm housing and choke it up for only 200rwkws. Far better to get a bolt on TD05-18G, be a much nicer option with better transient response etc. But then you are talking an eqiv turbo to a 2530 etc so why put up with a oil cooled plain bearing turbo if you can get a water cooled, ball bearing turbo that has been proven to work well on a 2L...ie 2530?!?!?! The GT-RS is an option and has shown that they have some potential for 250rwkws on an RB20, best of all they are almost bolt on internal gate. So far more convenient then a full TD06 setup
  8. You mean Usedtobebad?
  9. Its funny how Kimi for whatever reason has lost a bit of pace relative to Massa and everybody seems to be thinking its because Kimi is off at the strippers. Not because Massa is finally starting to see the rewards of all his focus and hard work?!?!! What continues to amaze me is how after so many races Heikki hasnt been near Lewis. ...and final tidbit. Is it a coincidence that since all the teams have gone crazy engine covers, RBR has lost some of its pace relative to Toyota, Renault and Williams?
  10. Sep 20? Hmm, if i can get Troy to drive my car....have to convince him to take the day off work though
  11. I would say Kimis season is toast. He isnt qualifying well, and Massa is on a roll, definitely the form driver of the last few races. Kimi seems a little lost. IEven if Kimi comes good he will only hurt Massa as i dont think Lewis will stumble as badly as he did last year
  12. I am missing Brundles comments...streamingisnt working too well with mobile modem
  13. This bird is the co-host for the F1 Preview show in Asia. LOL, beats looking at Cam McConville Quite tasty, but then they cut to footage of dear old Robert
  14. Ok, have semi sorted some new bars...but regarding the ARC ones. From looking at the diameters i suspect they are solid, not hollow? Does anyone know what the std GTST and GTR swaybar diameters? I am thinking that the non adjustable bars are hollow, just looking at the fabrication, and the adjustable bars are solid? Does anyone know for sure....have any old Hyper mags detailing them ?
  15. I wouldnt like to be paying the tab for these twos birthday drinks Enjoy YOUR day fellas
  16. Steve, whilst i amire the lengths you are going to with your car....and your enthusiasm even after the recent hiccup. Cars are far more fun when you are driving them, not sitting in the garage eating money. Just fix the old girl up and get back out there
  17. What drugs is young Vettel on? STR kickign RBR's ass doesnt go well for Webber next year. And hats off to Massa, the bloke seems galvanised this year in qualifying, out qualifying Kimi 8 to 4. Will see how he gets the thing off the line with Loise next to him
  18. LOL, one morning i am going to have to do this drive by myself. 4.5years in Melbourne and never driven the stretch of road
  19. I looked at the 6cm when i changed from 10cm to 8cm. The 6cm is bloody small. I think the 6cm is definitely 1.5L territory and for use on twin turbo 6 cylinder setups. I was tempted to try one until i physically held one in my hand. Tiny is the word i think i used.
  20. Just so people dont get carried away with expectation....there is nothing excellent about the response of a TD06 or GT-RS on an RB20. The 2530 is marginally better through the lower rpm range but loses out big time up top. So, I agree with the saving money for the 25/30, if you are not going to be happy with puinchy 200rwkws or laggier 250rwks odd and will end up going 30...then just save your coin.
  21. Any idea what the system weighs?
  22. I am on my 3rd clutch, and 195,000kms. When i left Sydney i think it was over 3,500kms of track work in the car. Since moving to Melbourne have done a couple of drag nights, plenty of motorkhana work and two Duttons. And all of the Melbourne work has been with between 215-260rwkws. I only use the expensive Castrol blah, blah oil. Syntrax i think it is. They dont take abuse to well, but they take use just fine
  23. Stupid RB25 gearboxes. Thats why i am holding off as long as possible and making do with the 20 box. I read a while ago that PPG were doing a gearset for the RB20 box, so better ratios for a 20 with a big turbz off the thing, quicker gearchanges and less weight...just have to wait for the release and cost
  24. Pretty cool track!
  25. He says they are always getting pad knock off and always shuddering...so who knows ?!?!?!
