  1. I drive one from time to time. Good fun to thrash around. But the Jazz is a much better car, ditto the echo., Better seats, interior, stereo and engine. Though i have no idea how they are all priced relative to one another
  2. Well, we all cant be blessed to afford days like this. I mean the entry was enough to make it even more difficult to enter, not to mention that track time wise running may be less then other track events. But it will be good competition and a good event which is why i am feeling the loss for missing it. But that said, i like the idea of being able to afford laps at Silverstone, Brands Hatch etc later this year so
  3. If thats all it takes then i am posting him soem videos of me straight away. Will be interesting to see how Massa goes for the remainder of the year with the pressure of leading the championship. Personally i think he is the pick for the remainder of the season. He has the points mid season, a good car, obviously dirving with confidence based on what i saw in Canada and France would have helped. And he seems to have his head in the game this year...whether Kimi can come back? I cant see either McLaren driver doing a lot for the rest of the year, no doubt they will take GP wins but wont be there every weekend, something you have to do to win the championship.
  4. Thats exactly what i was going to post. He is no doubt a good steerer, as he has been around for a while running many sorts of cars. The only reason i remeber Luke is years ago in the 2L BMW touring car he started on the back of the grid because he missed qualifying because of shabbats or something??? The other thing which will be interesting is to see how he goes behind the wheel of a car with some grunt and weight:)
  5. Arent the arms themselves a different length? I know of a person that threw Nismo gear in the front and rear of his car and the alignment was far sportier then a std Skyline
  6. See what happens when i go three nights withouth a beer. FFS i am starting to agree with you. But the fact that when the FIA get it right, isnt cause to be up in arms. Its when they get it wrong that it upsets me. Lewis deserved it and got pinged, others have been luckier. Just because the deviant down the road gets away with DUI, doesnt mean another bloke should cry when he is caught out Kimi deserved a ping and wasnt....so lets hope next time the stewards get it right. Hopefully it wont be a McLaren that gets pinged as that will only add to conjecture
  7. Got a link?
  8. Now you are making up facts Basically its a slow news day and the F1 media are stretching for every line they can ... Lewis is never going to win out in these conditions. He shoud hush puppy until he actually has something to speak about. I feel the penalty was deserved. I think Heikki got screwed over a tad, i think Kimi not getting a black flag or meatball flag for his exhaust is a pathetic call . But , i am just enjpying the next few days of chaos. After Sunday the world is going to be a better place after Lewis blitzes them at Silverstone. I am ready for the Senna-esque performance of winning from the lead after getting poll, with Heikki again 3 laps heavier on fuel and struggling for a grid position. A little birdy also tells me the call baout driver lines up will get interesting 2-3 days after this GP?!?!
  9. If thats the case then i will be throwing the swaybar to the shitter, but surely there is an easier fix or cause for the problem. The links were std GTSt (to the best of my knowledge). I cant tell you what the ride height it. I can tell you it is within a few mm of what Whiteline used to have on the pdf file on their website. What you say about more stroke being a bad thing? I would rather suspension parts not bottom out on bump stops to stop swaybars from bottoming out on sumps. I hear what you are saying, but the car used to bottom out at speed on big bumps making it a real handful at places like DECA and the back track. So i am not talking unlimited suspension travel the point coils bind or come in contact, just enough travel to give the spring enough time to do its thing when punting it in autocrosses. Not going to get into a debate over suspension with you. I am sure you know more and ways around everything. Fact is i dont. I like your idea of some longer aftermarket links. I will try that before i swap/repair the sump. Hopefully that will fix the problem. I suppose its possible that the std links i am using are off another model car or something. Fark knows, the guy was wrecking an R32 GTSt, but????
  10. Meh, car is going over a cliff when it is next drivable
  11. These swaybars have been on the car with the Bilsteins and the Teins. Ride Height with Bilsteins Ride Height with Teins I am using std links. When they were delivered there werent any, you said there should have been. I rang Whiteline and they said use the std, the swaybars dont come with the links. So i did as they woudlnt even sell me the links as they said to use the std. So possibly the links The photo is with the car on a hoist. The Teins actually have more travel then the R33 Bilsteins that were in the front of my car. Bump stops are fine, dont get near them with the ride height and springs i run. Ah, the joys of modifyign cars. lol, two steps forward about twelve backwards
  12. No need, after this weekend we will have a new reason to throw flack at the guy as i am sure he will stuff up again LOL, remember lat year and that pit stop And coming up to his home GP you think he woudl be ducking for cover and not giving the press anything to print. But this following statement shows just how delusional he is at present Hamilton insists that he does not ignore the advice of Stewart and Hill. "Whenever I speak to Damon or Jackie I do take what they say on board, but I'm not going to go searching them out and ask how I can be world champion. I want to do it on my own. I got to where I am on my own, with my family," he said. LOL, its a hard, hard life for Lewis, struggling through all those years of motorsport with novody but hsi dear old dad
  13. Just make sure the hub is clean and free of corrosion / scale and give it a hit of something like WD40 (i use Lock-tite anti seize) to ensure that the rotor sits true to the hub, Also, i think it suffices to just use brake rotor cleaner, not as messy as the hot water approach
  14. Do you have the log book and full history of the car? Which team built the car and whether the cage etc etc is all as per the log book. I dont haev the coin but i know someone who could be interested
  15. Just like how Porsche have engineering a good result out of a floored rear engined layout (does have great power down and braking stability) It is interesting to see how Chevrolet are doing the same with the leaf springs. Back when Callaway were in collaboration with GM over the twin turbo C4, the reason they kept the pushrod configuration and the leaf spring rear was mostly packaging. The C4 ZR1 has a quad cam 32 valve V8 but was expensive to make and also presented even more packagign problems then the narrower more compact pushrod small block. Likewise the leaf spring rear end, it allowed them to impinge on the rear bot/passenger area less. So main reason was packaging and making the car compact, but i dont doubt for a second the cost to manufacture came into a hell of a lot as well. But interesting all the same, at the end of the day and spring is a spring, and you need a damper to control it.
  16. Hang on. you will pay $250 for them, but not $800 for the kit? The DBA rotors are worth $500 and the high tensile bolts some spare change as well. So thats really what you are paying for them, roughly. Also, i personally dont think the 324mm upgrade is as good an option for R32 GTRs and R33s as it is for the R32 GTSt. The bracket to make it all go together isnt as robust. Stilla good upgrade for the dollar, but almost worthile finding some R32 GTSt calipers to use on your car then use the adaptor and 324mm rotor. Also, bigger calipers do not mean more stopping power, as a rule its a pretty good one. But its not always the case. You would think that 6 Pot AP, Alcon, Greddy etc all give you more brakign power but they dont. They actually have less piston area then even the std Sumitom calipers. So use that sort of caliper on the same rotor size as std and it would generally be a step backwards. Of course a larger better caliper will generally be more rigid etc so ensures that there is less flex so pedal pressure better equates to pressure on the pad to rotor....but you get what i am getting at
  17. But its an EVO. The battery probably had better voltage at his lat outing so computing power mush betterer and quicker so car is betterer and quicker! Thats how EVOs work isnt it?
  18. LEL, Ben, i see in your sig you after wheels and calipers. I am your man for rubbish parts for R32 GTSts . Do you want my Weds? 17x8 +34. I will see if R32Bigboy has some pics of them on his black R32 GTSt as be did borrow then one DECA Also have a set of F40 calipers that have the same size pistons as the GTR Brembo, but are a better caliper and bracketrs for use with the 324mm GTR rotor, that even fit inside the Weds wheels i have for sale. I am selling the brakes as they dont fit inside my other wheels These are the Weds, they are forged and lighter then my old Rays LM GT4s, (the GT4s was 1/2" wider at 8.5" vs the Weds at 8", but doubt the same sized GT4 would be any lighter)
  19. Good day. The Atom looks funny on a trailer, on the road and on the track. I dont think it fits in anywhere The little GSTt that thinks it can looked to be taking a beating all day with drivers tag teaming it....and it seemed to love it. Sam Markov is a real nice guy and that M3 of his is disturbingly quick...i think it must have more to do with the nuyt behind the wheel rather then who has swung spanners on it. Snowie needs to drink Canadian Club, otherwise his track performance on a race weekend suffers
  20. Just hope they go on sale in rhd in UK ...hehehe, i just got a firm job offer from the UK So Vettes or TVR Sagaris i dont care either way. But converting one would be pricey, so here is to hoping they are made in RHD And let me guess, you can thelp but love this car because its the same colour as your ride
  21. Dont be so quick to guess it is a GT-RS, could be a 2530Kai as they have similar compressor covers
  22. The Vette gets em wet! That is all that needs to be said Oh, and i cant wait to see the video to see how much driving is involved in getting the time. Surely with a traditional gaerbox and rwd without all the balance/driving aids then it will make for an interesting comparison. Now this i am pumped about, a great lookign, performing, reasonably priced 3 pedal car I wonder it is still using PBR / Australian designed and built brake calipers, kist with carbon rotors?
  23. Why the Tial gate and not the Trust Type R gate that the kit normally comes with?
  24. Often its the simplest things. You are doing 200km/h on std pads then stamping the brakes and wondering why the hard pedal doesnt equate to retardation? Tells me the fluid is fine as you have line pressure and pedal pressure, the thing jsut isnt stopping which tells me the pads could be glazing, are the rotors std, slotted? Pads can change pedal feel a lot. Some will make you think you have wooden planks as pads, so hard pedal but just so much pedal effort to try and stop the thing, others are bitey...all feel and react different. If youa re runnig std pads, along with what others have suggested i would not stress too much, its always the simple things.
  25. Ball bearing is the last thing i worry about. The wheel sizes and trim alongside with the housing sizes play a far bigger role. Its funny because all Trust turbos were much maligned a few years back. Then a few people get results with them then all of a sudden for some engine packages they are a highly recommended turbo. You only have to look at the number of crazy fast GTRs at the strip and circuit in Japan to realise that the T88 cannot be that bad a thing when put on a built engine. The right gearbox nehind them makes it an even more attractive option. I dont agree with what all Japanese tuners do, but the mass of them using the T88 over the likes of the T51 tells me that even though we dotn like them locally they have to have some sort of benefit. Woudl love to see a T51 vs T88 comparison on teh same engine but who has that sort of money
