  1. Would be good if you put your location in your profile. Have you looked into getting your Teins recond? Plenty of Stagea stuff for sale I have even posted shocks from here (Auckland, New Zealand ) to Aus so no need to be at your wits end - stay cool = there is a solution! Is there a suspension shop within range? They may be able to swap out your shocks retaining the stock springs and tops and using common brands of shocks. Shocks only last about 80,000km or less under rough use so second hand stuff is no good anyway.
  2. Heater core but usually gives itself away by steaming up windscreen and also using water.
  3. Pretty sure thats a no - no Skyline shocks in Stagea rears - fronts maybe but rears will be wrong for weight reasons let alone will it fit in the strut towers.
  4. Buying a modified car is the cost effective way to do it. You can save many thousands of dollars that way (save $10 to $15K or more). The key is patience. Keep an eye on the forums - find a really good car with not too many miles on the new engine. If you want ot personalise it or money is burning a hole in your pocket there is always more you can do!
  5. Buy Tangles" car - everythings done - ready to go!
  6. This is a good free way of increasing boost. Amount of boost is controlled by the restrictor in the bleed line that goes to the bov return. Personally if its going ok I would leave it alone but if you want to reduce boost you will have to reduce the size of the bleeder. Since you can't make the hole smaller you'll either have to put in a different restrictor with a smaller hole (say the end off a welding tip) or fill that part of the T with solder (or possibly bog) and drill it out again. What I have done in the past is put in a needle valve in that line to have adjustable boost!
  7. I have my stock Rb25DET throttle body on the Greddy copy FF plenum with an adapter. 550 injectors will be fine or bigger if you have a good deal but not necessary.
  8. How old is it? If it is a current model you could order one new rim.
  9. As I said before have you checked the gasket between the top and bottom of the plenum?
  10. I have seen some TSR rims for sale with PCD adjustable by some kind of eccentric device in the lug holes. Has anyone got any experience of these? How is the adjustment made? Do you need a special tool? Does it look robust (as in safe)? http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=417100322
  11. It has long been my ambition (temporarily shelved) to have my Stagea running the 3.545 diff ratio. I have the GTR front diff but couldn't track down a rear one so am currently running 4.1 front and rear but will find one one day!
  12. When you find the restrictor it is not just a case of drilling it out (you may not have to drill it out at all). I think (its a few years ago now) the restrictor is in the supply not the bleed line. The cheapest reliable way to get your dual boost is with a Jaycar ebc. The best way is to get a Link or Vipec ecu!
  13. To get Recaros into my Stagea I used aftermarket sliders and R32 base (fits bolts exactly) and a little adaptation.
  14. I am running Nismo competition oil (which is made by Motul) just because I got it at a good price but was planning to run Motul anyway. I am getting the oil tested at regular intervals and plan to keep it in the car as long as the tests show its ok but will change the oil filter more frequently. I will be running an thermostatically controlled oil cooler and will monitor oil pressures and temperatures. But at the next change I will try the top Agip oil which is also a fully synthetic oil and do the same monitoring as it is half the price of the Motul. If it doesn't match tne Motul in every respect I will stick with the Motul.
  15. Dunno but I bought some of these thinking they were Apexi but they are rubbish- knock offs...get your money back if you can.
  16. Yours is awd? Just run 12psi all the time. Its not like soemone is going to jump in your car and lose control through spinnng the rears.
  17. New turbo $2k - second hand stocker $300 -500 - but check all piping and hoses first (and actuator action).
  18. BTW how do you switch your boost off with the ebc - do you have a boost gauge?
  19. There are people who will make you a chip by mail order but to do it properly you should give them the car to tune. Tune is not the place to cut costs.
  20. Apply power to the vct solenoid and earth the other side to see if it is working or not.
  21. Even reputable workshops can make mistakes! Check all the pipes and joiners for leaks or clamps not done up properly. Is the boost gauge connected properly? If you're careful you can pull the hose off the actuator to see if the problem is with the boost control and if it is work backwards to see where it is going wrong.
  22. I think the stock limit is 7200 roughly. What they are saying is that if you sit on the limiter a lot you will probably blow up your oil pump and hence your engine. You need to learn some throttle control so you can spin the wheels without sitting on the limiter.
  23. Not enough! Real shame!
  24. Very neat installation - great result. What is the pipe going over the CAS - is it the bov return?
