  1. check a parts list, if they got the same part number your sweet, i think you'll find the only difference if any through the skyline range is the diameter of the rotor's http://www.dba.com.au/5000series/5928.asp
  2. im probably asking this question on behalf of everyone here but does it have to be a daily driver type or a vehical that has been rebuilt for motorsport?
  3. Rb30 e series one and series two. the only difference i have ever seen(ive owned 10 vl commodores 4 skylines and a patrol) is the drain back for the turbo as described above. the fact that they are 3 litre blocks mean they ALL HAVE THE FLAT SURFACE ABOVE THE WATERPUMP!. the water feed and return lines actually travell around the back of the block from the intake side of the engine similar to that of the rb20det engines the ports for these are located near the rear heater hose as it exits the block and also the rear of the thermostat housing on the series two or from the block on the series one.
  4. 1987 vl commodore RB 1989 onwards skyline RB 1989 onwards cefiro RB 1989 onwards laurel RB or LD 1989 earlier skyline's RB, or RD nissan patrol rb30 or RD nissan patrol LD28 pretty much anything with an RB in it exept the 2.6 and limited models eg. 2.8.
  5. that is some beautiful work dude.
  6. government dept's can only track vehicals that are on the system, been a dirt bike it may have never been registered.
  7. 2006 called??????? what is this...ammature night at the comedy club??
  8. dude if i was that guy at the muffler shop i would do it for the simple reason you'll be back to spend more money on getting legal again lol, you firstly say to the guy at the muffler shop that you have a race car in the build and this car i have brought here today is the same chassis so you can use it to prefabricate a exhaust system for it..... secondly, a full straight pipe system will probably cost you the same if not less then modifying your current one. thirdly, when you do get defected, atleast you can go home and bolt the stocker back on. considering the average price for mild steel 3 inch 1.5 ml wall is 10$ a meter plus 30$ a bend. so your looking at 200 dollars max for a whole stright pipe system turbo back....(not including flanges. )
  9. yeah, take it to a gearbox shop and be honest lol, we would all like to think were shiftin a dogbox.
  10. i dont mean to put holes in your statement(excuse the pun) but if the 1987 walkinshaws are allowed rear facing bonnet vents i highly doubt its illegal. plus the fact if your engines at that much risk of grenading and throwing up oil the MOT will be more concerned about the oil you dump on the road then the oil that sprays up your windscreen.
  11. 10 bucks says the cf bonnet is for a gts/t/4
  12. thats a load of bullshit, we stuck a rb20det in what was a L28 auto laurel.
  13. if i couldnt get my HNR32 id still have its baby brother the P10 4 door 4WD SR20DET Primera. if i couldnt get my BNR32 id probably still have my 3 litre tdi rodeo
  14. yeah its a series one, from memory they had a bung in the side of the sump dont quote me on it, however it isnt hard to get it put in , the flat round surface at the bottom of the block below where the word nissan is is where you can drill and tap a hole for a 3/4 inch fitting, while your at it you could have a T fitting put in there so you can have a drain back for a catch can in the future...just thinking ahead.
  15. the subframe is still intact. the centre hole you see in that bonnet is behind the two main beams that run from the rear corners to the bonnet hinge. the section that runs directly back is still there just painted mat black and is hardly noticable through the mesh unless you actually look directly at it. as for the one of the air filter it is the skin only cut and not a issue at all. never assume anything. it makes every one else look good.
  16. to this all done in my shed
  17. i was reading manufacturers manual the other day and browsed past this particular subject, factory manual says ideal maximum forward to back movement or thrust should be .8 of a millimeter.
  18. i dunno bout screamer pipes but see if you like this, its 3 inch straight out the side. infront of the rear wheel. http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=C4pm7OvTqco
  19. this is illegal in aussie, but here in nz it's all good. lol.
  20. pretty self explanatory. dont have any issues.
  21. you buy a skyline cause you wanna A go fast B do skids or C do both. if its costing you too much get a diesel. and leave it in da shed for special occasions. at least if you got a rodeo you could run it on used cooking oil.
  22. it may be cheaper to get a custom exhaust made, a gentleman here in nz owns a r30 siluoette, it hasnt been on the road for the last three years because of the lack of parts...shame, its a nice car.
  23. the n1 pumps run hotter on the street. stay with a stocker unless you gonna do the bathurst 24hr
