  1. don't put fuel in it is my current fuel saving regime at the moment i've only used about 5 litres in the last week (and there is probably only 5 litres left in the tank)
  2. 235/45/r17 the 45 doesn't mean 45mm wall height, it means that the sidewall is 45% of the width 18's with the right offset look good, and 19's would look good too mine had 20's on it before i bought it and looked a bit silly really (rubber band thin tyres) up front you will want roughly 18x9 +15 and on the rear i think you auto guys only need about +30 try to keep the same widths all round
  3. i do gold coast -> tassie at least twice a year i never thought about going at night tho, less traffic and cooler temps maybe i should also put some cheese cutter wheels on too
  4. jack stands under the suspension or under the chassis rails? if you leave your suspension at full droop all the time you may seize the shocks
  5. so does it crank and turn over? can you push start it?
  6. how did you manage to get it that low on the highway? i get about 10-11 in a manual s2 ouch to the terrys, but they do weigh about 2 tonnes my gf's dad said that his n/a terry got about 9/100 on the highway tho
  7. mine has pretty good cut off i'll take a pic if i'm out in the dark sometime
  8. gulf western sougi s6000 is the cheapest you can get in a great syn (as good in my opinion as anything else) and comes in at about $60 royal purple can be bought through autobarn for about $100 or motul 300v chrono will be about $120 i haven't used the others but the gulf western oil is great i ran nulon syn but apparently its only a group 3 syn whereas the others listed above are group 5 the nulon got noisy after about 3000 kms
  9. just car said mine had to be professionally installed
  10. well you guys have a super crazy motor ecu but the awd system sounds very similar so i don't think the control of it would be much different
  11. thats strange because if i unplug it and drive normally the 4wd light comes on if you unplug it and pump the brake pedal 5 times then you get in rwd mode (for c34's this is, but i doubt m35's are much different) m35 should be using a similar system (attessa-ets) take note of the "air evacuator connector"
  12. will probably be similar to c34's look for a plug under the dash, 1 wire in 1 out possibly green unplugging that and turning the ignition will keep the motor running you can also take the fitting out of the back of the transfer case and run the motor, this will drain the fluid faster
  13. what do you ground? as to the soldering, slightly higher resistance is better that random connections i'll measure the resistance across it later
  14. i have a receipt for iridiums fitted about 20,000kms ago i think i found it tho, someone has previously cut and replaced some of the wire going to the afm but only crimped it so i soldered some new wire in and now it seems good
  15. while you have the intake pipe off, grab the front of the turbine wheel (the nut thing) and see if there is any movement in it (other than rotation)
  16. know anyone with an ecultak display or a consult cable? your probably maxing out your afm
  17. anyone seen the 14point7.com widebands? $100 for the controller, $50 for the o2 sensor diy (basic soldering) will probably be my next purchase (eventually) also, mine is running pretty averagely, bogs down on cold start, feels very doughy, hesitating a bit :-/
  18. if you want me to pull your turbo off i can for some cash or beverages i'm down in robina i changed my dump pipe and changed the gasket while i was there not too hard, just fiddly and annoying
  19. oil pressure unplug the abs bleed the rears, furthest from brake master (bmc) bleed fronts (both sides of each calliper) plug abs back in
  20. tell them that the other driver is only just for emergencies and that they rarely drive the car my gf is 19 and listed on my policy but it didn't put the price up cos i told them the above
  21. run good quality synthetic oil and you should be ok its mainly just 6 months because oil has a shelf life
  22. just tell them that the contract they agreed on says $XXXX not $XXXX and you don't want to pay more
  23. just fitted my r33 thermostat temps are down from 87ish to a stable 84 also, good luck to those in brisbane - hope nobody is too affected
  24. mine renwed in november dropped from $130ish to $107/month 21, rating 2, just car, rs4s insured for 17.5k
  25. looks very similar to that but looks more like bakelite (sp?) has a rough/textured surface
