I think LSV (Lumley Special Vehicles) must have a subtle decision to decide whether you are limited use or not because I they do ask the questions that ascertain how much and for what the car is used. (having just done a quote for my first Skyline (WHICH I SHOULD GET TOMORROW f**k YEAH!)) Because I am seeing some price gaps of like ~$650 and ~$950 and they only offer comprehensive cover. My quote was for $936.7 ish with the same $1,500 excess and I explained it was my only car for daily use and work commute. So they might not advertise it but I suspect they have limited use and unlimited use policies and they just make the call themselves to perhaps stop making people aware of the option so everyone doesn't just lie and say it's limited use.

In the process of buying an R33 GTST series 2 with a FMIC. I believe a hole was cut for the FMIC install and as a series 2 it has dual airbags. This I believe is an illegal combination and it needs different piping to make it a "turn flow" setup. The car is tuned to 15psi and has 220rwkw. I'm pretty certain it needs a FMIC and possibly a wideband? Is the stock airbox legal with those holes in it? It has a new ECU is that illegal? Wellll I haven't fully bought it yet. Have paid $500 deposit and signed a contract to buy it with a RWC. how can I get done for anything if it has RWC? or will RWC address this issue? Can't you get a flange to reinforce the hole and that makes it legal? If It has a RWC do you think I get to get it mechanically inspected pre purchase style? It's tuned to 15PSI but no wideband should I get a wideband ASAP?

Haha my knowledge is also not awesome but my understanding is that it's called a front strut brace and it is put there to stop flexing andprovide rigidity between the two suspension strut towers. This improves handling, reduces tire wear and reduces metal fatigue. Basically the handling feels more precise and responsive. Funny it's the fanciest looking thing on the car isn't it haha. Some people actually install them just for the tuner look.

Cheers guys, thanks for the input. I had a question on getting it checked by a mechanic. Do I need a mechanic to do any particular checks like I have been hearing a lot about a leak-down test? I have been trying to find an R33 trust me but every time I see one there has been a problem; Sold just before I get there Rust Damage Not willing to do RWC under any circumstances Not responding to "i'd like to come and see the car" messages Just advertising here to increase my reach and exposure. The reason for paying a bit more for one with mods done was that i'd save a boatload of money rather than doing it all to a stock skyline as I do intend to track the car unless I get a mint one that i'd just granny drive until upgrade. Do you guys think I might be better of stretching up to a low priced R34 instead? I was going to get an R34 originally but when the price gap seemed to be like 13k for R34 or $6k for R33 I couldn't justify it. As the pric difference between R33 and R34 gets closer I become more inclined to get an R34. What are your sentiments on that?

The 8k GTT, black, manual, Nismo kit was an epic bargain, only thing wrong with it was the paintwork which I could fix later but bargains like that go fast and I wasn't fast enough. I'm not looking for mint condition, far the opposite. I'm looking for cheap but no rust or crash damage basically. I don't mind about some small dents or paint chips. I'm buying this car while unemployed so i'd like to buy a cheap skyline to keep debt to a minimum and upgrade when the pay checks come rolling in. Basically it needs to run until I can upgrade and be fairly easily resalable.

Turbo 1996+ and/or dual airbags ABS Manual 2 door No rust RWC Basically looking for as cheap as possible and meeting that criteria. Don't mind if it's a bit chipped and dented or whatever. Granted if a car is in good condition or has some power mods i'm willing to up the budget. For R33 I Just missed out on one that was $5,000 and I turned down on that was $8,500 so there's a rough floor and ceiling. Just missed out on an R34 for $8,000 turned down one for $12,000 so there is the second price range. Don't be slow, I need a car ASAP for work so i'll take the first good deal that comes my way.
