  1. Because of the cheap chinese copies out there giving them a bad name. Walbro's are probably fine as stock replacements (power under say 220kw), but never as a upgrade which is where Bosch pumps are pretty much proven to be reliable. Even with the genuine Walbro pumps I think there has been some bad batches.
  2. In short, "The mesh on the MAF is used to smooth out airflow to ensure the sensors have the best chance of a steady reading." Leave it on, Nissan put it there for a reason.
  3. All jap injectors as far as I know are just Denso injectors resold, even the Nismo injectors are made by Denso, but made specially to Nismo's specs.
  4. Borrow a really restricting cat, it will help somehwat.
  5. Insurance at the track too, rubber deteriorates over time and R32's are the most likely due to age, to burst a brake line.
  6. Here's a guide on how to put the 040 in, the 044 can be mounted as a intank but requires some modification http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/To...mp-t253097.html
  7. I thought the R32 ECU uses the ABS speed sensors for vehicle speed, while the cluster sources it from the gearbox?
  8. If it's a stock turbo, its possible part of the ceramic exhaust wheel has chipped throwing off the balance of the wheel. If the turbo was completely blown, it would revert to being N/A, and you will definitely know powerwise (low compression N/A RB anyone?) Check the cat hasn't melted/blocked up, and check for snapped studs on the manifold and turbo
  9. Agree with the above, the Nismo injectors will have the superior spray pattern (much closer to the OEM injectors)
  10. 040 is a intank, similar spec-wise to the OEM GTR pump. while the 044 is a inline pump, similar spec-wise to the Nismo/Tomei.
  11. Tomei cam shafts are designed to be used with stock cam gears (lobe centers so you dont really need to be dialed in, unlike HKS cams for example), so should guarantee any cam gear will work (even a intake one on the exhaust side). I would be checking if you actually have a RB exhaust cam wheel, it's possible you've been sent one to suit a 2JZ, or 4G63 or something like that. Take a pic if possible.
  12. If you can, try and get a dipstick from a R33/R34, i believe it has a spring on it to keep it locked in the dipstick hole.
  13. The R33 and R34 transfer case has the preload at all times, but the R32 doesn't (as far as I know anyway).
  14. As for the RB31DETT, probably a RB30 bottom end stroked out to 3.1 and a RB26 head for the twin turbo
  15. I'm confused, the OP has a autobox? if so any ATF fluid that meets Nissan Matic-D spec will do
  16. performancelub.com is the cheapest place to get shockproof, lightweight is the one to go with (blue smurfs blood).. as for capacity, anything up to 4l.. check the stickys in this section
  17. If you want to stick to a sidemount, the R34 sidemount is abit better than the R33 one. Best option? tell us how much power you aiming for
  18. JustJap should have it in stock, not sure how far away they are from you though.
  19. Is the O2 sensor, Titania-based (NTK OTx-xxx) or Zirconia-based (NTK OZx-xxx). Running rich or running lean might have killed the original sensor on the drag day (made worse by fuel additives). Do a ECU reset, unplug the car battery and pump the brake pedal to drain whats left, and see if it still does it then. Otherwise try to borrow a windband and check AFRs or get it back to the tuner and get them to check the AFRs.
  20. If it's not the headgasket, it could possibly be the factory oil cooler (oil warmer, oil/water heat exchanger whatever you want to call it) is leaking as it deals with the engine coolant and engine oil.
  21. How long did the car go without a oil change for? A diesel mechanic once told me whenever he had customer vehicles that went without an oil change for years or rediculous km's (20,000km +), the old oil actually kept the seals in place, it wasn't until the new oil went in that the seals would let go (rear main seal etc).
  22. Lucky you didn't take the advice here and put DOT 5 (Silicon), as silicon will eat away at your rubber brake hoses and rubber seals.
  23. Don't RB25 AFMs max out at 200kw? maybe the tuner attempted to (I forgot the term you use when you've maxed out the AFM voltage and tuning it blindly) and in doing that did the damage then. I just think it's strange to own a HKS ecu in Australia since there are little to no "licensed" HKS tuners. I googled the HKS F-Con SZ as I have never heard of it,The F-Con SZ isn't a full aftermarket ECU, but a fuel & ignition piggyback.
  24. Ah yes you're right, I forgot it's a RB30 block
  25. Alum if anything, it's cheaper, it's lighter, and is only slightly inferior to copper when it comes to heat conduction.
