  1. I've spoken to someone else who is looking at a intercooler replacement on their R34 GT-T which doesn't require reo hacking, and was considering this kit (pretty pricey): http://www.avoturbo.com/avoshop/product_in...products_id=241
  2. Most likely power steering reservior if its a black container, the clutch reservoir (is tiny in comparison to the brake reservoir) should be near the firewall on the drivers side (see through)
  3. are the rims themselves the same width all around for all 4 wheels, or are a pair like 17x8 and other pair 17x9? You haven't gone ahead and did something silly like put a 17x8 on the left and 17x9 on the right?
  4. Thermostat maybe stuck open
  5. Spotted 2 idiots in (r32 or r33 gts-t's) skylines racing down main north, one black other was white at 7pm around brahma lodge
  6. If the sandwich plate is one of those chinese cooling pro ones from justjap, just let justjap know and they'll replace it

  8. I spoke to my mechanic about the rear diff anyway, I provided 75w-90 for the rear lsd, and he said when he was at nissan they put 140 in the rear lsds of aus delivered 32 GTRs (I don't know if he meant 80w140 or straight 140), thats when I brought up the service manual specifying 85w90 or was it 80w90, which then he brought up a valid point; the service manual is a literal translation from japanese to english not taking into account Australian conditions. Just food for thought.
  9. Get a compression test done, leakdown test would be handy too. I don't know the specs for the RB25, but the RB26 at least I know, unless there is more than 14psi difference between cylinders, or any of the cylinders are below 128psi.. then you need to seriously plan a rebuild, I would expect the RB25 to be slightly higher or slightly lower psi wise.. thats when you know you need a rebuild.
  10. Import them from japan, nengun.com greenline.jp perfectrun.com.au rhdjapan.com etc
  11. Check the front of your catalytic converter (drop it between the front pipe and cat), if there's no ceramic wheel or bits of turbo exhaust wheel, assume the turbos are still ok. Next I would look for is a boost leak, go over the intercooler piping with a fine tooth comb, undo it all and put it back together, replacing dodgy clamps. If it's a throttle body gasket or intake manifold gasket (it's not uncommon since theyre paper based, and easily blown with age), spray aerostart or brake cleaner around the t.b. and i.m. gaskets.. if there is a leak the engine revs will react to the spray. Probably other things it could be, like the exhaust manifold gasket, snapped exhaust stud or snapped stud holding one of the turbos.. these 3 things could be venting the boost in the enginebay, although they usually make some sort of sound like whistling etc.
  12. From what I understand out the factory the harmonic balancer nut is torqued to about 150nm, if your skyline ever had it's harmonic balancer bolt undone (like for a 100,000km service to do the timing belt) at a Nissan dealership in japan, they torqued the balancer nut to approx. 500nm.. in my case was about 460nm.
  13. Try uniqueautosports , usually do alot of different types of braided lines for skylines
  14. What is your car idling at? It's possible there is a leak around the intake manifold since the gasket is paper, nothing a can of aerostart or brake cleaner won't find if it is a leak.
  15. With R32's at least, the headlight power runs all the way to the headlight switch on the dash. Usually when the headlight switch plays up, one side's headlight is powerless while the other is powered. It's not a cheap part either to replace, and it might not be the source of the problem just my 2c.
  16. Nails being shaken voilently in a paintbucket is another way to describe the noise, I've never heard a RB engine detonate though.. which I hope is a good thing.
  17. Try classifies and in your state, maybe someone has a spare hardline.
  18. Were you playing with the timing by adjusting the CAS position on the mounting bracket?
  19. That's exactly how my mechanic undid my harmonic balancer bolt, my starter motor plus a big bmw 900 CCA battery
  20. Limp mode would light up the engine management bulb in your dash, it's possible the bulb isnt working. but you can confirm the bulb is working when you turn the ignition on
  21. If you have Nissan FAST, a genuine item from Nissan is an option. You can try looking for the part number in FAST, or ask in one of the part number threads in general maintenance
  22. Logic would say LEDs because they light up faster and use less power and last longer than normal globes
  23. approx 3000-3500, full boost approx 3500-4500rpm.. N1 turbos have heavy steel wheels, standard R32 GTR turbos have light ceramic wheels.
  24. I need help when it comes to automotive polishes, any recommendations for spark silver (KLO) paint job ?
