Australia's total contribution to the world pollution total is 1.3%....so if we go to zero emission there would still be 98.7% total by the rest of the world. Even cutting our emissions to the targets being talked about [depending on which side you believe] we will only get to a best of 0.3% reduction. Short answer, if China, USA, Russia, Europe, India does nothing it makes no difference what we do...we are stuffed!!! 1% is not going to save the world!!!! So when you are at your next drifting/burnout/V8 Supercar/drag etc meeting...ask yourself "Is this really politically correct or necessary given climate change etc?" If anyone was really serious about climate change [other than as an employment opportunity or a way to make rude amounts of money.....think Al Gore] they would stop Forestry burning huge windrows of trash timber, stop every motorsport event, stop coal, stop B Doubles and every other truck, stop airlines etc etc etc We'd all be living Amish!!!

I also don't understand why they don't make the boot, hood and bonnet out of solar panel stuff, this would supplement the energy needs of the car as you drive [along with passive braking] or when it is parked. I realise its not a recharge, more a way of extending power needs. BTW I read an article on fluoride batteries that promises to be the next big thing, if this or some other medium increases the cars range and addresses power needs then electric cars would overtake everything we do now in a wave - there would be nothing holding them back.

Some interesting comparisons: https://www.msn.com/en-au/news/election-2019/scott-morrison-said-an-electric-vehicle-cant-tow-a-boat-is-he-correct/ar-AAB9FWL?ocid=spartandhp looks like they might be Ok for general use, but you still can't do big miles in one without stopping and recharging. eg I sometimes drive to Coffs Harbour and its over 800km for me, I can't do it without a long lunch somewhere while the car gets zapped. I do fill up the Skyline a few times now, but its 15 minutes in and out, not an hour or so.

With a 50% target for electric cars coming in the next few years.....our dinosaur juice cars will all fade into obscurity. I think I will see it in my lifetime tbh. And there has been talk of GPS monitoring of vehicles for ages, big trucking companies already do it, so speed monitoring of an employee is real and now. So its only really another stepping stone to actually limit speed. But with electric cars and driverless cars, I can see us driving to another big town by having dinner, watching TV, having a shower, getting dressed in the PJ's, wandering out to the car, at 11pm, getting in and dialling in your destination, and going to sleep. Then you wake up the next morning 700km away [hopefully at your destination lol]. -
They used to hang horse thieves....I'd have no trouble seeing scum like this swing. It is happening all over Australia, and the law seems powerless. Plus they only get a slap on the wrist and are back out doing it again within hours.

Why would your intercooler heat soak on the dyno??? Didn't he have a big MuthaF@#king fan going hard on the front of the car? WMI is to reduce knock when winding up the boost for more power. Its a way of extending the mechanics limiting your existing setup. Its not a bandaid for your problem. And you probably should have asked on here before buying, the Snow performance Stage !!! and [from what others have said] Aquamist are the better systems because you can progressively add WMI using both vacuum/boost and IDC. I have set mine to IDC 40% and all in by 70% AND 8psi and all in by 14psi. Snow Performance sell a very neat solenoid valve for gravity drain.

Have you tried truckwash or aerosol degreaser? They remove most things organic. A pressure washer might work but could also push water into places you don't want. I'd go with a just hose pressure and truckwash to start with. That's what you get running without a cat

RB25DET Dying after starting - white smoke
tridentt150v replied to Tomak's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
You said white smoke. white=coolant, blue=oil, black=fuel Check that your overflow bottle level is the same as well. -

Blown head gasket. White smoke is coolant. -

5k if you're rich, 10k if you're well off, 20k if you don't give a sh#t, never if you're a meathead or drug f#cked

You have to remember that not all the weight was due to the new design.....ABS, airbags, emissions, side intrusion, crumple zones etc all contributed to each successive models increase or struggle to reduce weight. Not saying each model had nothing/everything, but the shifting safety goalposts and expectations certainly had an effect. Model weight is always an uneven comparison method. If you want more...there is a trade off.

What suspension you using? I have a '98 Gtst that used to scrape everywhere, it had teins and was pretty low [and f#$king harsh ride]. Also low profiles will do this, so what tyres and rims? Ages ago I swapped out to bilsteins , king springs. and whiteline bars [SK kit]. This not only improved the ride, but also the handling and lifted the car by around 10-20mm. Now I rarely scrape. I admit I could have adjusted the teins up and changed the spring rate, but I still don't think I would have got the ride or handling I now have. I can measure my front bar height if you want, but where? And normally you measure the wheel arch height from the wheel centreline.

And buy a good quality pump and preferably one specific to the 20/25 Skylines. RB30 ones will fit but they take one less bolt and IMO always end up leaking. And the cheaper water pumps are Chinese and they don't last either.

Rb25 fresh rebuild low compression

Nothing wrong with those numbers....doing a comp test cold is always 'a trap for young players' as the saying goes. Forgies rattle a bit when cold anyway. Enjoy your Skyline mate!!!! -

The Bon Ami/Ajax...heard of it and people swear by it, but I've never needed to try it. They reckoned you used it then flogged the crap out of the motor on a good straight road then watch the smoke out the exhaust until it cleared. You could try a more commercially available product these days: https://costeffective.com.au/product/ftc-decarbonizer/ There are others, this is only one of them.....and again, I only heard of them, no idea if they work. -
