  1. A truck might make more power, doesn't mean its a better car.
  2. Yeah, its all fair and fine assuming that you never ever get booked for something you didn't do etc. Which is not the case.
  3. Ick, car crushing, no fun. It certianly would be horrible for police to be able to take your car away for 30 days due to alleged hooning. I guess you guys should all get some kind of in car video so you can prove yourself innocent. I weep whenever i read the comments sections of newsites like the herald sun. I mean, jesus people are dumb.
  4. That's a bit rich coming from a "oh there's a really big reason but its a secret, so stop questioning and just belive it." person. Don't get me wrong, there might and probably is whatever there is your talking about, however, you need to know that if you jump onto an internet forum, go on about some big secret that you can't tell us, you can't then get pissed off at us for not taking it at 100% gospel.
  5. At a guess your north of kessels road, i've never seen any of your cars getting around south of it.
  6. Our '97 falcon has a 3 point belt for middle rear passengers. think you'll find that any car post 2000 probably would. Most of those things i wouldn't mind, however, i would not like to drive a car without a mechanical hand brake (or, as they call them in the US, emergency brake). The American gives you a good guess why i'd like a mechanical one.
  7. Best on a budget. I think you'd be hard pressed to find many peoplw who'd say that a 33 or 32 would be better than a 34, but you'd also be hard pressed to find anyone who can afford a 34, since they cost 50K AUD or so.
  8. How does that change anything, it was already here on sbs...
  9. you didn't read post 104. Basic driver training courses only ever deal with stuff like emergency braking.
  10. If your talking about me you have horrible reading comprehension.
  11. For a change we won 50 bucks! Was a bit shocked when i checked the site in the morning to see there'd been 18 division 1 winners though, i bet there'd be a few people getting a little less than they expected!
  12. Yeah, those council logs aren't designed to stop run away vehicles etc, just designed to deter people from driving in. Someone crashed coming out of a corner near our place, they musn't have been going all that fast either, but managed ti wipe out 4 of the poles.
  13. Is the tree going to be ok!?
  14. 1.7K for a single game?
  15. If anything, any handheld/car mounted camera inaccuracy is going to show you doing a slower speed than what your really doing, due to Trigonometry (see, that stuff you did about it in highschool was handy!)
  16. haha. I want to know what your secret is if you can drop 35K on a car while going to uni! For that money, i'd buy a nice 25K R33gtr, and save the other 10K for some light mods and general maintence, especially considering that its a weekend car, and if something broke on it, you could just catch the bus, so reliability isn't that much of an issue.
  17. Mate, we're talking about the "oh shit a cow just stepped onto the road" emergency braking here. I've always thought slamming on the brakes and not putting the clutch in, until the car is about to stall of course, would be better than putting the clutch in instantly and slamming on the brakes.
  18. *bashes head on desk* Yes, that's what i said in my very first post. "only stuff i see is E10, which is questionable", and as you just said, its not for performence. I'm interested in hearing more about making it yourself though, how hard is it to actually mix your own fuel, and what do you mix in? pure ethanol, and where do you get it from?
  19. You seem to be missing (for whatever reason) the point i'm trying to make, i thought this thread was talking about perfomence, not price.
  20. Questionable benefits mate.
  21. Can you actually find a reliable mix of E20 or E25? all i ever see around here is E10, which is questionable anyway.
  22. Its what i've always been told to do by parents/friends/everywhere else i've seen, apart from these blokes.
  23. You'll pull over every import you see, and you wonder why people think that your out to get them?
  24. had someone at a driver training course (you know, basic one that they send you off to in grade 12) that told us to put the clutch in to break. Whatever dude. Had a driving instructor tell me that you should always put the handbreak button in when pulling it in to stop wear, that gave me a good laugh.
  25. Frist post in this thread summed it up pretty well. I liked the comments of the women who took 70 odd seconds to park "well its the rule that the people behind have to wait". Being about to reverse park is part of getting your frigging licence.
