  1. Don't forget that there's parks all along the road between the lookout and the tv places. Though they seem more like good body dumping sites than spots for a romantic interlude.
  2. If you can' go during a weekday, pretty much any of the parks on the mt nebo/glorious road will be pretty dam deserted.
  3. Jeez i'd be a good employee at your place. Your lowered expectations (or experience) would mean i'd stand out!
  4. Dyno's don't read time, they read rpm vs power (or variants of that). You can see the power under the curve, but you can't really tell the actual response time of the setup.
  5. C10 is where its at, shape wise. The c110 just looks plain ugly in my opinion. And bolt on flared guards don't help (for me)
  6. They both weigh about the same (~1500kg). 34gtr's make about 230awkw's, the holden "makes" 317Kw, but i've no idea what rwKw they make, but i'd presume it'd be less. Ute might be a little faster in a straight line, but i'd get the GTR anyway. (well actually if it were me i'd buy a '32 gtr and pump the rest of my money into modifications)
  7. My parents have had 2 seagate drives fail, my mate had one that never even worked properly from the store. They had a bad(relativly) batch.
  8. Because they're dirty forklift engines that don't rev. yeah, that confrimed my suspisions, rb30 is a much better option than a normal stroker. Now, a stroked RB30... wasn't someone trying to make a RB34 kit somewhere?
  9. As a sort of aside, everyone says that Rb30's are a cheaper option, since stroker kits are up around the 6-7K mark. However, they all come with a set of forged rods, pistons, crank etc. By the time you get forged pistons and rods for your rb30 build wouldn't it be costing up around that mark anyway?
  10. another +1 for those guys. good produce and good customer service.
  11. Friday night and i've got nothing to do. Gah. Going to pick up a mate from st lucia and drive around a bit i guess, any suggestions on where we should go? I've met you once before, you could come in my car one night if you feel you reaaaly need a skyline to be there. That being said i feel i should get my arse there one night though. Had my car for over 2 months and i've not been yet!
  12. My point is, there's reasons why you'd want to raise/lower your car more than 5cm, as you said yourself Extreme 4wd'ers. While skylines might not need to be lowered 5cm for track work, i'm sure there's some cars out there that could be safely lowered, with a benifit, more if they were to be used on a track aswell. no need to force people to buy a trailer if they don't want or need to. Now, if someones driving around in a dangerously lowered car with distasteful rims, wouldn't the current laws mean that they'd be defected anyway?
  13. Its pretty much over willis island right now. how the folks there didn't stay (though the radar is still working, so it must be pretty dam strong) http://www.bom.gov.au/products/IDR413.loop.shtml#skip
  14. silver 32 - 607cha, on the gateway thisarvo, running along in the same general area for most of the way And a stagea that came out of the clem7 into the bad traffic on the south east freeway thisarvo. White '34gtt there to. Only needed to see a r33 to make the full set, though i had a bashed up '33 door in the back seat so that might count.
  15. There's a guy up here in Brisbane who's got a rb26 with a big single (not sure if its as big as a gt35 though) in a 120Y.It can be done, not sure if it'd be any good though, traction wise. A ~230Kw motor is about all you'd want to go for in one anyway, from what i've heard. Or you could be different and chuck a carburetted L20 in it. (or U20 if they fit, and you can find one)
  16. Why on earth is everyone talking about non turbo 180's and r33's when the OP stated turbo on a number of occasions.
  17. Could just be that they can't fly over the breakfast creek area due to the airport etc. Would be very interested to see what's going ont here, An aunt's got a renter there that we're goign to help her clean up.supposedly its up over the windows.
  18. Wivenhoe viewing area has been closed since monday. Not that it matters, since the bridge over the river just downstream of the dam has been closed since then aswell, i think.
  19. That was on TV on the weekend... premonition? 22M in ipswich would be absolutly insane.
  20. Err, they evacuated most of low lying stranthpine, and the bridge there has been cut. that being said i don't know your situation. But Still, hindsight and water damage can be a bitch.
  21. I've been on the forums for years, but never introduced myself properly, mainly because I didn't have a skyline. That changed about a month back. Picked up a nice R32gts-t, and i'm absolutly loving it. I mean, coming from a holden drover, the handling... the torque (yes... i think a 2L motor has amazing torque alright. The effect will wear off on me eventually), the power. The lack of turning circle (i know its not bad, but again, compared to a holden drover). The car has an upgraded exhaust, changed suspension (lowered), and as far as i know is running standard boost etc. It'll stay like that for a while, as i can't really find the money to do any crazy engine upgrades. That's the car, how about me? I'm Peter, and i study Mechanical engineering at UQ (starting 4th year this year!), but I live on the southside near Mt Gravatt. I can't see myself driving the 'line to uni much, since the bustrip from garden city takes 15 minutes, But hopefully i'll see people around here instead. Will have to get myself along to some cruises or meetups or someting somtime.
  22. Instead of complaining about only being able to get 91octane fuel, turn this into an excuse to the Mr's to go get drums of E85 delivered "oh i need this to run the car, the local stuff would damage it"
  23. How can you be sick of them? this is about the 3rd one we've had this summer, and we had practically no stormy days last summer. That being said... i took my car for a drive to wivenhoe anyway on wednesday, missed that storm, and yesterday it didn't hit here.
  24. White 32 at UQ today that waved back to me, hi!
