People knew it was stupid back in the 60's mate. The overall number of people have been increasing, which is why there's more accidents (though the government never seems to point that out, which is odd)

You'd probably end up spending as much on a gtt anyway, once you finish your cosmetic mods (which wouldn't be perfect), then realise that the car isn't fast enough, so you'd spend more money on that. Just save for a gtr. Or buy an older one.

Heh, don't get too worried mate. I'm still a year out from my opens, and I think one of those would attract too much attention. I'm just trying to suss out what i want to get to upgrade when the time comes. if they go for the sort of price listed there then they sure are an attractive option to me. (hey, i like different cars).

Well, you ahve to remember that the legal system does have humans in it with common sense. I'm pretty sure that they could still charge you with steeling though.

there's still plenty of good state schools, but you do need to shop around to find them (and ideally, you shouldn't have to do that). As for NYE? bleh, i'm not a party till dawn kind of guy.

ok, following up on my post from before: would be it cheaper to get 400KW from a bigger turbo(s) (overly large), or from a set of -5's? Would you need expensive head work, new cams or something of the like to be able to tease that sort of power out of them? (and would you need it on the bigger turbo?). I mean, i understand that, no matter whats pushing the air in, the block itself has to be equally strong to match the power, but what about other bits?

Hard to get to a mechanics outthere aswell. At least, one who you'd trust with a skyline.

That's 20k For a 400kw engine wtih -5's (and the response that they bring). I'm sure you could get 400kw for less strapping a t04z or something silly on, but it might not be as responsive.

My dad has one that he rebuilt. Was rather rusted origionally, and he did the panel work himself, so its not the worlds best example of a fairlady. But it still goes just as well as a normal one, which is the main thing . They're nice cars, though a bit... squishy. Had to get a smaller steering wheel on it just so that i could use the handbrake without it making my leg rub on the wheel. Don't really have much pull though, you might find yourself wanting more power, especially along the straights, (that's what a sr20det converstion is for though), but around the hills they're very fast. (about as fast as a mx5).
