  1. Turns out my mate (who was telling me all this) is dead wrong. Fine for wearing P plates when your on your opens is 80 bucks, fine for not displaying plates is 160 bucks and 2 points in QLD
  2. I get the "nice car/bloody hoon mobile" looks and i'm not on my P's,so its not those, just the car. Worst "plated driver" incident i has was when i was on my red's doing 50km/h up the 50km/h suburban road (not double lanes) in my serria, and was undertaken by some moron driver. Who i pulled up behind at the lights anyway. You think that's bad? look up the fine for displaying P plates when your on an open licence.
  3. Hey guys, can someone please check out 6U9000HCR32274394 for me. Cheers
  4. The real question is, has anyone made a 2000hp+ veyron, and how fast does that go. Then it'd be a more 'fair' (unfair) comparison.
  5. its just a turboprop with a 4 stroke inplace of part of the compressor and the ombustion chamber, really. Good idea though, but hell of a maintenance problem it seems.
  6. Wait, people actually put stuff in the trays of those utes?
  7. Or you just top up the coolant and hope it stops leaking. Or I guess you take your engine out between laps.
  8. Was a sporting event, guy with a 300zx (who was driving it quite well actually, they can are pretty decent cars), had some coolant leaking out the front "oh well, its leaking from somewhere in there". Multiple bits to come off just to check out the hoses
  9. If i were doing my formal over again, i'd try to get a gtr to take me in, of course. (actually, i'd try to get a proper date first). But I'd have got someone who's done a formal dropoff before to do it too, cause the person who dropped me off had no idea where he was going, came in the wrong way and dropped me off on the wrong side. Sucked, but it was a pretty crappy formal anyway.
  10. My mate took these. We'd just happened to head upto another mates car to get sunscreen (good shit!), when this happened. Guy seemed ok, car was f**ked, fence was bent a little tiny bit. Gave me a hell of a fright.
  11. Did they have the UY engine there? (2L straight six DOHC engine from 1965, made 190hp.) Not related to the engine that eventually went on to become the RB though.
  12. Nothing against exit signs, but if people are so stupid that they need how they work explained to them, are they going to be able to use them anyway?
  13. That a bolt on job or would it need a new computer or injectors etc? Consdering a 180sx as my next car, as they're a bit cheaper than a skyline. and i don't really have the cash right now, but could have some more in a year or two, but not be ready to get a completely new car. Cheap upgrades could be good, but if its more expensive i'd just by a skyline later.
  14. Who the hell carries around a texta in their car anyway...
  15. Depends on where they use the nos, right?
  16. Good theory, but isn't a short loss of rear wheel traction hoon driving? 2 year loss of licence for that?
  17. Didn't mark and russ's gtr do a 2:14 around bathurst? that's about 7 seconds off the outright lap record, which i think pretty much sums it up. They probably have a few seconds left in their car, and for a bunch of guys who aren't a fully funded race team they've done a bloody awesome job, but a racecar built from the ground up is always going to be faster than a modified street car. No shame in that in my opinion. you can't drive a v8 supercar on the street, to work, or park it in your garage.
  18. Very true, it might have 2 less cylinders (which means what? displacement is what we should be concerned about isn't it?), and a very similar sized engine. however, a 15 year old car does it at that speed, and even if that 15 year old car cost 3 times as much back in its prime, it does not now. Don't get me wrong, i appreciate the "idea" of the WRX's, they're nice little cars, but maybe they shouldn't be using a fast track like this to show their point, maybe they should use something that's a lot tighter where they actually can be faster than 15 year old car.
  19. Made late 60's, early 70's, mazda's first major rotary powered vehicle. ("10a"), only about 1500 ever made. I was lucky enough to see one a few months back though (image from wikipedia) Supposedly, they were marketed as a supercar, with a rather silly advertising campain, however i haven't been able to find out anything more about that.
  20. I'm not talking "oh shit, there's a truck behind me, the light just went yellow, he might not stop, so i'll just floor it through" though, i'm talking more of a, braking yourself, hear a truck behnid you locking up, at that stage moving yourself forward would be a good idea. Noone is likely to be in there as its a changeover.
  21. If i load a drum or two in the back of my serria i Should be able to cairns and back on a tank. In all seriousness though, you'd probably get even futher if you were only doing 80 or 90km/r, that seems to be about the sweet spot for air resistance/vs engine resistance etc.
  22. We have nowhere near enough sugar crops to even think about powering, say, all of the vehicles in the country on it. hell, i'd be willing to bet we wouldn't even have enough to power all the cars in QLD.
  23. I don't think any gravel would have an effect on the first crash. car was already on its roof before it left the track, as soon as it tilted far enough around to dig in it dug in and started flipping. could ahve had small boulders in there and it still would have flipped. I wonder how possible it would be to build an exact replica of lakeside on the QR track...
  24. No, i just converted in echange rates from a few years back. (when the holden itself was sold) The euro has gone to shit in the last few years. sorry for the misunderstanding.
  25. Defnatly 100% positivly absolutly not a fake sticker at all...
