If you've done a FMIC, make sure you have some sort of feed still going from a pressure source back to the wastegate. Not pressure feed = no boost control That would be my first place to look.
-
I was gunna get someone else to do it but it's pricey. Got any other suggestions? Same goes for clutch...

Yeah, that sounds like an original bracket with either the standard pump, or an upgrade pump (bosche or GTR) clamped down the bottom Heap of pics comparing original/upgrade pump here: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...85375&st=20 Actual pumps next to each other : http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...st&id=93769

Could Somebody Please Tell Me What This Is?
Birnie replied to markyb's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
The original setup had a vacuum pipe going from a nipple (hmmm nipples) on the intercooler pipe to the wastegate on the tubo. In the middle of that pipe, there is a T-piece with another pipe feeding into the solenoid (top or bottom i can't remember). The other top/bottom that's left over goes back to another nipple on the intake pipe just after the AFM. -
I understand what youa are saying but i was hoping that if you floored it, even though the revs aren't up there yet, the AFM reading (therefore the air flow) would be going up and be enough to pop the spring open and wala! straight thru (well almost) I guess there would be a bit of a delay but if you were under track conditions, i'm sure it would be well over the spring limit the whole time. And as for not much power when commuting, thats fine cause i drive a bit like a granny most of the time so the lower Db would be a bonus. Also, i searched a bit and seems i could only find one person on here with one and he didn[t say too much about it but i think it was overall positive. Might try sending them a PM, if i can find it again. Had a PM from someone who suggested a twin setup between the Cat and the Canon and then have the ECV valve thingy on just 1 pipe. Could be an interesting idea. Anyone else tried that? Or anyhting else?

Try a quote on the Tomei pump, it's the same sheeet but cheaper. I have the Tomei and looks identical to the one Mafia has, including the bits that came with it. $311 is soo good !

Help Me Identify These Injectors Please
Birnie replied to 13thracer's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Have a look here : http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...46846&st=20 Looks like they might be NA SR20DE injectors. Someone made a comment that they are 320cc Bumma dude.... Can you take em back? -
Hey, If you were to install ye olde Pon Cams or something similar, does that make much difference to your fuel consumption for commuting around town? I don't care if it does on WOT, but as it's my daily driver, i wanna keep my 500kms/tank I wasn't considering it but there's a cheap set available and it's sorta something i'd do in a few years time anway. THanks, Birnie

There used to be one in the For Sale section without the hand controller for $900 i think, THat would be a good option if the condition is ok. I'd go without the hand controller and cough up the $500-ish for the Datalogit instead. If the car is tuned well, the hand controller doesn't really serve much purpose but it is nice to look at i guess.

Hey SAU'ers, Wouldn't mind dropping the Db level on my straight thru 3inch zorst as it's a daily commuter and can be a bit tiresome after 2hrs driving everyday for 4years. Anyone using one of these little numbers? http://www.nengun.com/apexi/active-tail-silencer (..and is there a local similar option?) Looks like it could be the goods for driving around town off boost. Also, if anyone has one, is the spring open or still closed when your cruising at 110km/h on a freeway? Thanks, Birnie

Yeah, just the timing belt is only about $70-$90 but if you're gunna pay someone to change the belt, might aswell get em all changed. The Gates kit has about 5-6 belts i believe. Plus other tid bits Interesting..I'll check it out

I'm looking for this soon, and was quoted $290

How Mutch To Change Clutch
Birnie replied to Mark0's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I've been quoted $465 and $470 on the Central Coast for a R33 GTSt Thought that was alot although I've never had this done before. That's just labour too, and machining fly wheel. -
Yeah, recommended by someone who's trying to sell one perhaps? That's more like a 300+kw turbo. Don't wanna go into it too much as there's a thread on this very page about 250rwkws for the R34, same engine, well close enough, same kit for your car anyway. This question is popping up more and more for some reason??? Anyway, check the R34 one and also the dyno-sticky thread at the top of the Forced Induction page. Good luck !
-
Yeah, most turbos you;ve mentioned have T3, don't worry about that. Just some people don't advertise all options on their sites so be sure to do thourough seaching before giving up. Nengun.com has the kits for both showing the T25 and T3 options, that's where i usually start my searching.

I think you can forget my last post. I can't remember which turbo i was thinking about??? but i do remember that bent bit of wire that's in the pics..... Just found a thread on the install and it looks sweeeet. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...;p=1742392&

The 2835 Pro S and GTRS are quite close in performance i believe, i know they're different but just doesn't seem to be much on paper. So, when considering the 2835, the exhaust flange will definatley need to be custome made from what I've read and seen. And i think you need an extra spacer to stop it touching the engine block. THere's a thread on the 2835 install somewhere and there were a few headaches to get around but obviously do-able and worthwhile. On the other hand, the GTRS is an easy swap out using the stand zort flange. Easy peasy.

There was a turbo advertised a while back which was advertised as a GCG high-flowed turbo. I asked in the post if it was an R33 high-flowed turbo, or just another turbo that happenned to be high flowed by GCG The question wasn't ansered but the turbo was sold. Is that the one? If so, I'm sure it didn't say R33 turbo but the wording/assumtions made you think it was. Double check the thread, if it is that one (not saying it is) it may have been your assumtions that made it an R33 turbo.

Looking For More Power On Stock Rb25det Internals
Birnie replied to Fujiwara's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
GCG is for GCG turbos, the name of the company : http://www.gcg.com.au/ ..and the highflow : http://www.gcg.com.au/Catalogue_Menus/Upgr...pgrade_gtst.htm I think Nismoid is just saying that 800cc is overkill for that power level. Get the 550's and save heaps of cash. Another option is the S15 injectors that I'm running now. I'm on 240rwkws and they have hit a max of 80% duty cycle so far If you're looking for new rotors, check the Group Buy section for some good cheap, RDA slotted rotors. Fuel pump, the Nismo or Tomei fuel pumps are a good option. Looking at around the $340 delivered compared to $230 for a Bosch?? But you'll have a great pump that's a straight swap out. CHeck the DIY section for thread/pics on replacing injectors and another for the Tomei Fuel pump. Also, there's one for swapping rotors. Good luck dude. Birnie -
