I tuned up yesterday and had to drive 1.5hrs to get there. It's in an industrial type place so there was nothing else to do but hang around. Spent the time gorking at other cars and dreaming. Heaps of Mazdas and then a GTO turned up on a flatbed looking sweeet. I listened to the tune runs being performed and wanted to be there in case he wanted to ask me stuff...which he did about the gaps in the plugs. Helped him taking the plugs out regap and put em back. Awesome day even if i didn't get to watch the whole thing close up...could have from the garage door but u can't see crap anyway Are they charging by the hour? Then i'd be suspect. Isn't it just a pre agreed amount? Any reason for this particular tuner? Maybe go somewhere else where they don't mind.

+1 for the Air Flow meter. Easy job to remove and clean even for the novice. $5 for some carby or electrical cleaner and 10 mins work. If that's not it, doesn't really matter but 1 thing will be eliminated. seen this work in countless threads before though.

Happy as a pig in shit ! The Hitman (Matt) was very pleased with it's behaviour. He reckons it was spooling like a new turbo and he's seen a few i'm sure. Response compared to stock turbo is a tad lagier but very close. But then again it's got another 10psi to spool before hitting the max Nice smooth delivery of power and lots of it. Anymore power and i'm into a telegraph pole for sure. So many huge figures are flying around at the moment but for a daily driven R33, i wouldn't want anymore lag...or power. Absolutely love it No idea, get it tuned and throw up some results. I'm predicting over 250 for you with slightly more lag. (just guessing mind you)

HKS 2535 is now tuned up to my satisfaction and it's a wee rippa. Made 245.9rwkws on The Hitman's dyno which i don't think is a happy-reading dyno. See the results in the dyno thread. Spools up nicely and sounds great. Vote 1 for HKS2535 And another vote for the s15 injectors which have done the job easily with more room to move(currently hitting about 80%) I'm now guessing these babies are good for 270-280 rwkws. That's it, anymore mods will be more along the lines of sell and by a Mitsubishi Mirage...tehe (seriously) But I'm going to enjoy this one for awhile yet Cheers guys

No you can't adjust the Fuel Pressure via the ECU, well not that i know of. The after market Nismos have a screw attatchment i believe to adjust. If you're using an AFC, i'm assuming your mods are on the lowish side at the moment? Not worth worrying about. Standard is fine as long as your injectors are pushing out enough. People keep the standard Nissan FPR above 300rwkws.

Rb25 Turbo Upgrade, All Dyno Results
Birnie replied to Nacho Vidal's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
RB25DET HKS GT2535 Power FC, with add on boost controller S15 450cc injectors (max now about 80%) Tomei fuel pump Z32 AFM 18psi/1.3bar (dropping back to 16psi) Tuner - The Hitman (penrith) Max was 249rwkws but missing and popping so he dropped 1 degree in timing for a smoother result. Also had to regap plugs to 0.65 to prevent missing/coil pack symptoms....which worked a treat Final result was 245.9rwkws, goes HARD ! -
A ruler or tape measure will help you with the dimensions and you may as well post it cause someone else in the future will prolly wanna know Looks like a good little cooler

Nismo and Tomei pump kits are supposed to be the same item from what i've heard with the Tomei being alot cheaper so get the Tomei if going for one of those 2. If you going to fit it yourself, the above pumps are a sinch to install. Check the DIC thread on "easiest Fuel Pump upgrade ever" Walbros and Bosches have some small adjustments to the bracket, and I've seen some wrapped in a sort of rubber sock to prevent the noise but check on the rubber as some can break down in fuel. If you're getting a Power FC (you said a new PC????), forget the fuel cut defender. Covers everything a FCD does, in fact the FCD is about the cheapest Air Fuel Computer around to fool the ECU, like someone else said before. Forget em, cheap and nasty upgrade. Either full Power FC (highest recommendation) or a SAFC or similar...or Greddy Emanage or any other full replacement ECU

Does Anyone Know Where I Can Get Greddy Gauges
Birnie replied to s13_Skyline_inside's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Slidewize trader, jap-yahoo-auctions should get you one 2nd hand, it's bigger than ebay over there -
I had one of these years ago and i never found the knock reading to be consistant. Mine would start low and gradually increase as the car got hotter, and so did the unit with all the lights running thru it. Cruising down the freeway it would gradually climb to 100 with no change in driving style. And don't compare it to knock reading on a Power FC either Once i went to Power FC, even before it was tuned (base map), i drove 1.5 hrs to the Hitman for a tune, same freeway conditions etc, no knock over 15. Maybe my SACF was FUBAR ?? Who knows.

If you guys are buying new, get the GTRS, If 2nd hand doesn't bother you, GCG highflows turn up every now and then (haven't seen one for ages) so closer to $1200 Or HKS2530, but 2535 is prolly better on the 2.5l getting you arond the 250rwks. And you can always search SlideWize Imports on here somewhere and get your 2nd hand turbo on auction from Yahoo Jap auctions......usually delivered for around $1100 - $1300 depending on what you get.

Any disadvantages of a 1 piece?
-
Ah, crickey, just re-read your post, forget what i said
-
Power FC says "APEXi Power FC" on the front, not what car it's for, nor does it say Nissan Another note, they aren't made for AUTO R33's at all ! You sure you have the right thing? Doesn't sound like a Power FC to me....post a pic

How's the paint job coming along? And what colour you heading for? There must be some w/end progress. Post it up! We've got a retard living nextdoor with a Gazelle. Spent around $20k all up with no upgrades except a replacement SR20DET and full paint job. What a waste of money. He could have bought any car he wanted for that $$$ Now paying it off which will take him 30yrs on his pay! Haha. It does look nice though in black, but 20k !!!! and no air conditioning !!!! (not meant to be a reflection on B-Man, i just think it's funny)

How Does A Heavy Duty Clutch Feel
Birnie replied to Toasty's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I've had the Cushion/Button kit installed on my R33, now I'm also assuming that it was the kit that i supplied that actually went in the car..... The pedal feal is now softer than the original clutch, not that i know what the original was but i saw it removed and it looked standard. I thought the original was a litle strong and now I'm smiling big time at the relief! Does that sound right too? Softer feal for the semi-buton kit? (Exedy from Slide) -
Hi Peeps, I've been playing the above HEAPS, most days when a get a few spare minutes. heaps of fun with all the customized tracks. It's FREE to download and FREE to play online. I've signed up with Birnie as my userID so pretty easy to spot me. Anyone else playing? The Jackalaus-Server tracks are good fun if you've signed up www.trackmaninations.com (i think) about 250Mb download then a small 18k upgrade to get to play online

Performance Of R33 Skyline Vs Ford Xr5 Turbo Focus
Birnie replied to LatinR33's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Off to a Ford dealership you go Say what you said in your 1st post and I'm sure you could get a test drive, then come back and tell us all about it. -
Yeah, was going to suggest checking/cleaning the AFM if that's what you meant by 'airflow' Also, Power FC isn't made for auto R33's as suggested already

Faq: Apexi Powerfc - Frequently Asked Questions
Birnie replied to paulr33's topic in Tutorials / DIY / FAQ
At 1st glance, sounds like you've selected the wrong AFM. Check that setting first...assuming you know which AFM you do have, Also, if you don't understand what the injection timing is for, stop what you are doing right now ! Seriously. Best would be to reset all the settings and go and get it tuned. Resetting it will make it more than drivable as long as you take into account and basic mods like injectors or AFM's etc. -
How Mutch To Change Clutch
Birnie replied to Mark0's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Quick update for me.... Was quoted $470 for a company on the Central Coast, went thru them today and was charged $403.70 Very happy Got the cushion/button from slide. I was worried about the clutch pressure as it's my everyday commuter to syd and back. It's now twice as EASY to press down. Rang em when i got home thinking they'd put the wrong one in but he said that's normal and said it was the semi/button they put in. Apparently the newer ones are getting made better or something along those lines. But anyway, i'm stoked ! Better clutch, no more slipping, cheaper than expected, and easier to drive...Sewwwwweeeeeeeeeeeeett !! Quick EDit: Everything i said positive about this clutch i take back, it's a piece of shit and is slipping, since day 1. Now 3 weeks later it needs replacing. Total crap. By the way, i'm not the only one. -
I was under the impression they were going to be more so for that money, i reckon a few will sell. $30k more than a 350z, makes it sound worth it
