Hsd are good, they have inverted shocks which is apparently better then the bc/tein way of doing things. Really for under $1800 you only have 3 options, HSD, BC or the Blitz ones. I would stay clear of second hand units unless you know the history of them ie; an sau member, all the ones on egay I see advertsied are almost as much as new bc's, why bother.

Hi all, Not sure if this has been covered before or not properly (did search), I basically just want to know if stock 33 gtst brakes with decent pads/rotors/lines are good enough for light track days? I don't want to upgrade to Brembo's or d2's/ksports if its not really required, Im not going to be diong alot of track work, maybe 2-3 track days a year at winton plus deca's. I would love to upgrade rotors only to GTR and use the stock calipers but know one makes the adaptors besides uas ($350+). Let me know what you guys think before I start buying rotors and pads. Thanks.

My 32 had a full 3 inch system with a cannon, had a muffler in the middle and sounded good, wasnt to loud either. Really any of the jap quality systems sound good, just depends on how loud you want the car.

They were prob bad coilovers, I've had HSD, BC sports and teins before and they have all been fine on the street, no bouncing. Depending on who put them in maybe they were on the bump stops? That would cause very bad handling, Ive seen it before where guys lower the spring platform instead of the base of the coilover (some dont have this though) and you basically sit on the bump stops. For a street car you dont need anymore then 6-8kg springs in a skyline, no point going stiffer.

Was he following you or was he stationary? I got done once but the cop was following me so he used his speedo. If the cop was stationary then thats grade a bulls**t, know one can realistically tell how fast someone is going just by looking, not enough to say you where speeding by that much anyways. Dont bother with a n/a skyline, they are slow and a waste of money. If your just getting your p's buy a cheap car and learn in that, even if it is a commodore or falcoon atleast when you crash it its not something thats worth alot. Have you thought about buying a tow car and having a tarck/drift car? You can then do whatever you want power/turbo wise.

I've had both a 34 and now a 33, and while the 34 was great I dont see why there so much more expensive then a series 2 33, besides having a neo there isnt much more refinement between them, the interior is far worse on a 34 and depending on what kit your 34 comes with they look very average in stock form, I dont know if its just me but 34's look like they have been hit up the ass with a stock kit, mine had a nismo kit which looked alot better. But trying to find a clean 33 is getting really hard where as finding a clean 34 is easy, each to there own I guess.

I never understand why people trade stuff in, they always get ripped massively when if they just sold there car privately they would prob get almost double what a dealer offered them. I dont know why people also think paying cash is going to change anything, bank cheque or cash its the same thing, doesnt change the price of the car. I had one dickhead look at my 32, told me it wasn't as clean as he thought it would be blah blah blah, offered me 5k or a swap for his hr31 passage which funnily enough he had advertsied for 8k. I think the biggest mistake people make is advertising cars on forums, every low ball offer I've had selling stuff generally comes from forum members.

6k is for a fubar'd one, all the ones I looked at under 8k were terrible. I was saying I was surprised how many were f**ked, not how many there are in total. 34's are more common now, back when I had mine they were still pretty 'new' to the scene but they are everywhere now, its harder to find a clean 33 then a 34.

Ku36's arn't that good, they have bugger all tread on them compared to the rsr's and they get noisy. Cant go past the rsr's for bang for buck. If you can afford to go ad08's just do that, if its just a streeter then prob wasting money on the ad08's as Im sure the rsr's will be more then fine.
