  1. People will do what they want to their cars. Dressing them with with badges is the least of the sins you see on the road. I think most of us strive to 'keep it real' for most of the part. But there's a bit of 'Excel, Lancer, Altezza boy' in all of us. T.
  2. Mate... Swoop (Phil) didn't have to make any excuses for owning a jet black 34 GT-R V-Spec... T.
  3. 8:30pm Let me mark this as a special occasion: http://tvguide.ninemsn.com.au/closeup/defa...asp?pid=9169710 T. "damn street racers"
  4. They are more cosmetic than anything else. T.
  5. 1. in principle, any mechanic who has successfully worked on a car as complicated as a VL Commodore (!!!) should find a Skyline a piece of piss (he may get confused by the sheer number of cam gears though). 2. the RB is an interference design so the valves WILL contact the piston crown if the belt is not taut. 3. The belt is $80. It is a 2 hour job. With standard rates at $100 per hour... you get the picture. I suggest you do all belts + water pump at the same time. At 100,000km this stuff is mandatory IMO. T.
  6. There's someone who's been on here who will remain nameless that has put a GT-R badge on his steering wheel boss. Guess what? It's a RB25DET! Guess what x 2? His car has an airbag! Now you tell me what's wrong with this picture! T.
  7. If you owned the car for a year, you're all pretty damn set. Look at the personal import law. T.
  8. It's apparently 18% which is what everyone here is gone for. I make no claim as to legality. I did not tint my back window. I have glasses like many of you IT nerds so I don't have the best sight. I kept the back window with the original well faded tint so I can see all the cornholes behind me. Notice how you can just about see all the way into the back screen but the sides are like dark. T.
  9. Unigroup charge $88 per hour on their 2wd dyno at Giraween. Add that to the fees the Hitman charges and you get a very good deal. T.
  10. Farkkk... Too many gauges. I got three in my centre console GT-R stylin' (oil temp, oil pressure, water temperature). Boost gauge on column. I'd like an EGT but that's about it. I suggest perhaps an Apex pen timer with O2 AFR reading included. Ask yourself if fuel pressure and all the other crap is needed. Water temp. is useless if you have a PowerFC. T.
  11. I'm certainly not trying to rain on your parade because I reckon this thing looks tops... just like a Motec type dash. Blitz now have a item like the Apex'i RSM which plugs straight into the ecu plug and does a similar thing. I would if PowerFC users can use this? No? T.
  12. I had some really pissy experiences with CTP. I get a good deal on my shopping trolley (Magna) because it's comprehensively insured with AAMI, I think the slip is like $330??? They shafted me with the Skyline because they wanted to know insurance and all the other jack. A few things will affect your CTP, age (over 25?), postcode of residence and age of vehicle (over 1996 seems to get the shaft). Some places will shaft you just because you're not comprehensively insured with them. T.
  13. You can probably quote the SAU mantra... "I have no professional training to operate this 300+hp vehicle" To be honest, things are over took quick. I often see a Skyline and milliseconds late the thing is outahere... T.
  14. oh. btw. I'm old. Sorry that sorta thing just slips my mind. T.
  15. Here's a pic of my car with the tints: http://www.nitroware.net/~tony/r33tints1.jpg http://www.nitroware.net/~tony/r33tints2.jpg Doesn't it make the car look fullee? Oh and Robert is a nice enough guy. T.
  16. Flywheel is perhaps the biggest and cheapest change. From the looks of it, pulleys is not worth that much. $500 to $1,000 might get a flywheel. Isn't UAS got a group buy on? T.
  17. Oamps (ie. Jim Richard's team sponsor) have an office in North Parramatta. They are a Zurich dealer. $350 no questions. T.
  18. Are they black carbon fibre or glass? T.
  19. A new pump really requires a dyno tune to get things back even. T.
  20. I think you need to travel to Canberrra or Brisbane for all your illegal firearms and knives. T.
  21. Why didn't they just cut to the chase and call them "Ricer Snax"??? Succinct, describes the product and the market. T.
  22. Skylines only every had a 4 speed auto. I think you have the record for the highest mileage 32/33/34 Skyline. T.
  23. I seem to remember that most of the cabinets I seen were professional, ie. barrel locks, sliding doors like shop fittings. I agree with you that 1:43 is a tough scale and Ebbro is certainly not the best, I've seen Ferrari models that look like they were hand made but they were $250 plus! Ebbro is less than $100, made in China but still very good, I see no paint flaws unlike other models and I find plastics to be good although I cleaned some flashing off them. Well this is more for Denham's benefit... 1. Forget R32 Ebbro. They all stopped production long ago. 2. R33 Ebbro might be available but still rare. 3. Some dribbs and drabs of the 34 still available. I got mine various model stores but mostly from an SAU sister site: http://www.importplaza.com.au/nissanR34.htm Andrew will help you, he's been good to me. I am still after an R34 Mines tune and perhaps a Nismo tune model. I suggest that perhaps this is the right one for you: http://www.ehobbies.com/dc-ert-33447.html T.
  24. That's out of some odd weighbridge. Also you might notice that trim levels and a full tank will make a difference. T.
