I am now 3 edited videos in for the getz and got 2 more to edit for the 180sx. It definitely takes longer to do stuff filming but I am enjoying doing something different. Once you go through everything it becomes a big list. Keep chipping away be done in no time. Post up some progress pics when you have time.

Its skid control, good events to drive at and variety of stuff even starting to do some dirt events. Yeah not a small amount of work, you still filming the build?
-
I do a bit of everything and will be joining a local business that runs events so bound to run into each other at some point. Have a look at Gold Rush Hill Climb great event and I'll be driving it this year.

Nice, hopefully see you out at a few events once the car is ready.

3.46 be a good middle ground, surely they could pull a little bit of timing out down low to limit the torque. You have a decent size trans cooler? trans slipping due to heat when street tuning? -
g35-900 vs g35-1050 vs 6466
robbo_rb180 replied to Scratched Skyline's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I've only seen them on sr20s and ej's as most go to a vband style manifold. I would love to go a G series on my 25 but need a t3 rear housing -

Contact Shane from subaru doctor https://www.facebook.com/TheSubaruDoctorTownsville has put a g35 1050 on a rb25 stagea and is in the process of doing a forged motor. Car is amazing to drive and I was surprised at how good it is for a turbo that size down low. Haven't seen a failure of a g series up here yet. -

If serious about racing I would be looking at a quality rim, you'll be kerb hoping a bit as it is quicker in some places. I run the TE37s in 17x9 with a 255 and if I ever decide to go bigger I'll look at another set most likely. Racing and having a reliable car ain't cheap and rough guess with what your spending on the motor, decent wheels will be a drop in the ocean and worth the investment. -
I've had the same problem with small pieces too and found doing shorter welds on opposite sides and letting it cool abit before starting again.

I just went and got bolts from a shop down there for when I changed calipers as skyline knuckle is thicker than s chassis. BM57 will bolt up. Time to get some porsche cup wheels and custom hubs to fit over the calipers 😂 -
Welcome back, just checked out the videos. Good to see you getting back into the car, you in North Queensland now?

Got engine and gearbox in yesterday. Happy with how it looks, waiting on a few sensors to arrive this week so will focus on some fab work that needs to be done. -

Sucks not being able to work on the car, I am about to be in same situation in a few weeks. Got a link to channel? The editing is time consuming but I am enjoying as learning something new each time and different ways to do things. -

4L80 is an another option keep that overdrive option https://www.enginemaster.com.au/hughes-street-strip-h-d-4l80e-transmission-1991-95 Driving a manual in Sydney traffic would get old very quickly. -
Losing fuel pressure when hot.

Smaller lift pump and stage the 2 main pumps will help alot or for a cheap fix fit a cooler. Can you monitor fuel temps with either a temp sensor or ethanol content sensor? I see temps upto 55C at track and around 43-47c on the street -

Been a big push last few weeks getting the car ready for paint and reassembly. Wire wheeled all the brackets for the dash and centre console, gave them a fresh coat of black paint. Pulled the castor brackets out cleaned them up and got a coat of satin black too. Went to spray the engine bay just before New Years and that was a big fail as I hadn't cleaned the spray gun properly and it was too hot & humid. So while I was waiting for shops to open back up started making a new catch can, its over kill but good fab project. Fast forward 2 weeks and was able to finally get more paint. Resanded the engine bay & interior and gave it all a fresh coat of satin white. It looks much better all painted. Plans to get the engine and gearbox back in saturday and start getting it ready to run. Got a few new brackets to fab up for power steering res, overflow and fuse boxes. AND because I don't have enough projects........ 2007 Hyundai Getz that I am building for Hot Hatch Cup Australia https://hothatchcup.com.au/?fbclid=IwAR3tzSmEiSq1mzQoOxz2KiuHcrES4OzHfm2VoKMNZMu0iNVHjxd1V3jYynw -
Was there anything actually wrong with the engine before removing it? If budget is an issue put new rings and bearings in it and call it a day. I have used spool rebuild kits on one rb and sr. Good quality for the price and no issues https://www.spoolimports.com/engine-rebuild-kits/rb25

FJ20 turbo choice - over 500whp
robbo_rb180 replied to Gareth87's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
A local workshop is about to put a g35 900 on an ej25 and I know he will put results up @Plattsy has shared his results of G30 on ej25. I think it made over 410kw at the wheels on e85. -

G30-660 or 770 would be the go. Heaps more efficient but a quality intercooler core will help IAT consistency. -

I am having a go at it, just put up first one today. Got another race car to build, at least the category is pretty restricted and has control parts. -
