RB26 Low Power and Low Compression
robbo_rb180 replied to SnekDoc's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Do a Leak down test yourself. Check for any leaks on the intake or exhaust manifold. Have someone who knows what they are doing look at your tune-they may have removed a lot of timing. Pm me or @Dose Pipe Sutututu your tune file Check that the cas is setup correctly with the ecu- see above -
Cobb can be custom tuned. The ecutek I've come across in the past on other platforms have been not that great and removed to reflash factory ecu with better results.

Yeah wouldn't even bother, be same quality as all the other linglongcheap stuff. Performance will be worse especially low and mid range. Done back to back testing on Dyno. Seen a few of these style manifolds either require more matching of flanges or split under pressure. This is the only inlet intake most people should be using https://plazmaman.com/product/rb25-r33-inlet-plenum/ I have used standard and genuine greddy manifolds and the plazmaman is the best option.

robbo_rb180 replied to klutched's topic in Members Cars, Project Overhauls & Restorations
I used a combination of orb fittings to help with clearance. AC compressor and hoses fit too -

Engine bay is looking great. I used an aeroflow resivour as has 2 ports on bottom. No need to weld fittings on power steering pump. An AN turbo drain can be used for one part with the holes elongated and there is an adapter for the other. Will get a picture of what I used on my car. -
R33 GTR mushy brakes
robbo_rb180 replied to denisgtr's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Also can tap the 2nd port for the fronts and it works fine as I have done it a few times. Have tried using a HFM one in the past and could never get it working like a genuine Master Cylinder 2 brake shops had a go with adjusting rods and the pedal. -
Took the sil80 out to the local hill climb for a run sunday. Car decided it didn't want to make boost so just ran it like that and still managed a 1.04:52 and 6th outright. Had a chat with some people about about the issue and seems the wastegate is getting stuck open so pulled it apart and found a few areas were marked on the valve shaft so cleaned it and linished the the shaft put it back on and everything seems fine now. Booked King of QR in September and will start getting it ready for e85 and retune in the next few weeks.

Got the sides done but need to get a a slide hammer to do the bottom. They are pretty thin metal, surprised the ghetto setup worked -

More progress Found more damage around drivers side footwell, reckon the wheel has been pushed up there at one point and some rust on the seams but all fixable Had a go at trying to straighten the rails where they have been hit Planned most of the new engine loom and moving to the body. Going to use factory light and wiper switches and add a panel for every thing else. -

Been nothing happening for a while as got the sil80 going and been trying to decide what direction to go but have been doing the important things like painting cam cover and making heat shield for the turbo. Fitted some more lights to the work area in the shed and converted to LEDs. Heaps better with the extra lights. Pulled out the ecu and loom this week to start planning a new loom with extra sensors and inputs. Considering going DBW as liking it on the other car. So will have to send ecu back to link for modding. Car is booked in to get the engine bay and under side blasted end of July so have to get a move on stripping. -
