  1. Hey mate; good to see you back, sorry about your issues, at least your getting back on your feet. Plenty of people never have a go; they just sit back and whinge. At least you did.
  2. Nah, it looks pants with them out! I didn't have them for a week or so, even with mesh covering the spaces; it just didn't look right.
  3. Yes, I think the OEM is diamond mesh though. Mine didn't come with it, and given the pissing about I had to go through just to get the blanking plates; didn't even bother. Cam, lol, it is black, just the way the light is hitting it. I'm actually quite happy with the look of the Blanking Plates versus the Spotties myself. Looks to be exactly the same thing; mine was SAAS, but same difference. The stuff I have to replace it is slightly smaller openings than the OEM and hexagonal in form. And I'll have enough left over for another car. I'm also convinced the Aero cools better than the smiley face front; Win!
  4. Yep, I think the hexagonal mesh I've got will be better with a big cooler behind it; but for the next few weeks, I'll be sticking with the Uleh bro. At least it isn't blue...
  5. Good stuff. Back on topic, I cut the centre bar out of the opening of my Aero front bar; I think it looks better (too late anyway) but it was a breeze with my new cheapy Ozito multi-function tool. The ones that have an oscillating (as opposed to rotating) blade; put the blade against your hand; big vibes, no cut. On a plastic bumper, it just pushes through literally like a hot knife through butter. Very neat, no burning or melting of the plastic, but no monster furry edges like a hacksaw or jigsaw cut. Still dragging my feet about the mesh; everyone else seems to like it but me!
  6. I remember "Run-it Hard" saying that they didn't go low enough on his Stagea; not sure what he did to correct it, because he certainly had it low in the end. Might've gone shorter springs?
  7. You sell one Stagea, and look what happens... Sorry dude; I just couldn't resist. 200 is good? I take it you got your electrical issues sorted & retune done?
  8. I've never even seen 100 octane e10 in my locale, only povvo 91 octane. And it's shite.
  9. To be honest, the bill for all that could run to a couple of grand; depending on what kind of fluids and parts they specify (including labour at $60-$80 per hour). Example; R&R on the rear main would be $250-$300 in labour alone. Water pump would be a $250ish job including parts. That's a hell of a lot of work ; especially on a car that presumably PASSED the rego inspection. Most of the tasks there could be done with a reasonable tool kit, some ramps and a weekend in the garage.
  10. I thought that was about average for a mix of city & highway. Even with my leaden clog, that's fairly achievable. How do you find it on e10? I tried running our daily on it; but the car just didn't agree with it, so I never even tried the Stagea.
  11. Spotted a White C34 with 19's or 20's next to me in Penrith today; very nice car. Could use a little low please? Waved; Sorry I wasn't on for a chat; on the phone with the boss. I've been buying tools again...
  12. Anything moving faster than their nugget is a potential target for their "King of the Mountain" fantasies. Kids on Pushbikes, Low flying Pigeons, Hyundai Excels, Pensioners with walking frames... The fun starts when they pull up next to my GSXR 1000. Seriously? Even short shifting at 6000 rpm (of a possible 14 000 rpm) is enough to pull a monster gap to 80km/h. But my personal favourite USED to be just riding alongside as they frantically accelerate; juuust in front of them in first gear (it'll do 165km/h in first ) until I'd get bored, click second, gas, and show them 3 feet of air under the front wheel as I'd pull a 50 metre gap in about 2 seconds flat. Roll off and watch their mates laugh at their pathetic attempt to race a bike. I now know (thanks to the RTA) that drag racing on the street is illegal, stupid, and causes you to have a tiny winky; so I don't do it. Stay safe well endowed Stagea drivers; the ladies know why you drive a wagon.
  13. Because of the piston volume; I'd be willing to bet the brake bias will be a disaster, and you'd basically have no rear brakes. Also the front rotor is basically the same diameter as the rear, just a little thicker, so you're not really gaining any mechanical advantage.
  14. It would be easier to make a list of the things that weren't modified, I reckon. After seeing just a small damaged part off this car recently, I'd safely say no stone was left unturned. Beautiful no expense spared engineering! Some info & vids here; http://www.skylinesa...d/page__st__360 But just the tip of the iceberg surely.
  15. What the hell is he doing trashing his tranny? Is that what the young kids are calling it now?
  16. The supplied links are urethane bushed at both ends which allow small amounts of compression and deflection. The H/D links are direct mounted at both ends to the Subframe and to the Sway Bar, and they contain an OEM style ball joint at each end, which have no give at all. This means there is no delay in the reaction of the Sway Bar. You CAN feel the difference. The best thing about them is; for all the direct action and solid mounting; there is no extra harshness or noise you would normally associate with these kind of links. They are virtually as good as a race style link but with NONE of the downsides or maintenance. You just fit them and enjoy the benefits.
  17. Gotta say Alex, the mid muffler was a great budget mod; sounded sweet when you were leaving the meet last weekend. It'll be nice hearing that rasp, overlaid with some turbo whistle...
  18. +1. I'll be watching for updates of this sexehh beast. Oh, and hurry up with the turbo already...
  19. I was running the GB. Link; http://www.skylinesa...34-gtr-and-2wd/ If the op wants something; send me a PM. The same goes for anyone else. With regard to the R33 links; every Whiteline kit come with everything needed to fit; even lubricating grease. There are Upgraded links that can be bought separately; which are much stronger, and a very nice improvement, but these aren't compulsory. Cheers, Dale.
  20. Brief offtopic; you guys had a good run back to the F3 from Wisemans? Good to meet you and your young bloke too.
  21. Lol, I was sure I could hear you two shouting "Release cloaking device!" before disappearing into a cloud of smoke... and then reappearing 30 metres further down the road....
  22. Not too silly on price either.
  23. With plates like that; stupidity was destined to happen eventually. Nice bit of karmic retribution there. Which reminds me; I wonder if my old mate would like another couple of pizzas tonight?
  24. Good to hear; any kind of surgery has an element of risk, but back surgery is bloody scary. Best of luck; hoping you make a complete recovery with no ongoing issues. Good luck with the sale, looks like a great car, I'm sure it'll get snapped up. Cheers, Dale.
  25. A little soapy water will help; once it dries, you won't have any slippery residue.
