  1. They are baked in an oven to set the product, but it's still fragile. I think ongoing heat cycling is what fully cures it. Even then, it's not indestructible, you have to treat it nice; like you would with paint.
  2. Be careful how short you go on gearing; a mate has the same model R1, and he's now going back to standard ratios, after losing a decent amount of tank range. His bike was tuned; running 170rwhp, and my essentially stock K6 GSXR 1000 will out accelerate it basically everywhere on its longer gearing.
  3. Some Scotty something guy, I think; he seems to know a little bit about these cars...
  4. If you're doing the turbo; do the dump at the same time. You'll be glad you did.
  5. The finished article, now with ceramic coating. You need to be super careful when fitting coated parts; it's quite fragile until it has heat cured on the car. Lots of blue painters tape when sliding them into place; and you're all good.
  6. Mine did a 14.9 standard; there's a line in the sand for you, Brick.
  7. There's actually 2 pieces that can move; the mirror has a allen head down the middle of the arm, but there's a mid piece that slides over the mount that is glued on to the glass. My mirror was tightened into the mid piece fine, but the mid piece was loose on the glass mount; and rattled. Does that make sense?
  8. Awesome Rudi; it would be great to see you, we need to chat. Set yourself a benchmark, and watch the times drop as you make changes.
  9. Possibly should clarify; the TME that I was referring to, sadly doesn't belong to me. It's a car in my mates workshop that is getting some love. I wish it did; but fitting up a bunch of sexy bits to someone else's car is going to have to do for now. Wasn't finished in time for me to see it run today unfortunately. It's going to be a hell of a thing though.
  10. You'd be well pleased with those results mate! I don't think I've ever seen a chain as clean as yours; looks like I'll be getting some of that degreaser.
  11. My mate likes to call it "Dog dick pink" Lol, nah; but lets just say it won't be getting damaged in transit.
  12. I'm assuming this is why a filter relocation kit/ cooler is pretty high on people's list of priorities? Changing the oil on my old R31 was miserable; always ended up with oil running along the X-member. With the amount of space you guys have it must be a million times worse.
  13. Got something special in store for you mate...
  14. Turbo is off, exhaust housing is getting coated, new Meek performance dump, and X-force full system going on. Full hard piping kit, and a Walbro going in tomorrow. In a month or so it's getting a Quaife front LSD, and going for a power fc tune.
  15. Not "my" Stagea per se; but in any case. Flange is only tacked in this one as we needed to do a test fit prior to finish weld. Fitted perfectly (once we had some tools) And baking prior to ceramic coating.
  16. Update; A busy day on Sunday, After blasting this morning; And cooling off late this afternoon. These will be going in the post in the next few days; keep your eyes peeled for a tracking PM.
  17. Lol, with mine; you can actually get the actuator out without removing it. Sneaky! Didn't even know; hope I wan't picking my nose... Base coat is going on tonight, along with some parts for the Makinnen.
  18. Spotted Theo's AXIS on the hoist at the Penriff choice A-one Stagea bro happy times workshop last night.
  19. The front bar was $180, the brace was $150. I don't understand; do you want to buy the brace or the bar or neither? Your above post implies that you're buying a front bar from Jetwreck; but you've sent me a message asking for pics of my front bar. So which is it? Edit; Sorted, thanks Mark.
  20. So I'm assuming you don't need photos of mine anymore then? Hope everything goes all right with the "big bill" you received; guess it wasn't that big after all eh? Why would you tell me a bullshit story if you had no intention of buying my bar; especially since I offered to go out of my way to show it to you when you said you were coming down for WTAC? And if you knew you weren't going to buy it; why would you ask me to email you photos of it this morning? I'd rather you'd been honest with me; and told me it was more than you wanted to pay, or that you were going another way, and we could have left it at that. We're all adults; why lie? I spend a lot of time helping people out; and I'm happy to do it, but dreamers like you wasting my time is not something I enjoy. Don't bother PM'ing me again about the brace; I don't need your money. Cheers Dale.
  21. It might take off though;
  22. They'll never let you see the CCTV footage anyway; it's a liability/privacy thing. Sucks; hopefully the toerag thief gets hit by a bus on his way to Cash Converters.
  23. I'm sure you did, but wax & grease remover the bejesus out of both surfaces before starting. I normally pull the pan up against the block lightly so that both surfaces have made contact with the sealant but aren't fully clamped together, then let it sit for 30 min to allow the sealant to partially set. Go back and torque up all the bolts; you should be perfect.
  24. Yep, mums husband has a 307Hdi; and when it came back from it's 100,000km service, it had a new turbo. Me; "Why did they replace that?" Him; "I dunno, they said there was nothing wrong with the old one" Me; "Riiiiiight" No mention of it on the service documents, just popped in a new one for no reason...
