  1. I'd be interested in the throttle cable... Are you willing to separate from the motor for me? where are you located?
  2. What motor? SR20 or QG16? if its SR20, id be interested in the throttle body and cable, including all the little bits and pieces involved... thanks...
  3. hey man just enquiring about the 240sx throttle body... is it from a KA24? or SR20? If its the KA, is it the same as an SR in terms of bolt pattern? do you have the cable to go with it and mounting brackets or little bit or pieces that come with the cable/TB? would you post to 6020, Perth? thanks. Cam.
  4. No good new guys. I've installed the new o-rings, and STILL no luck. On first start-up, it was ok... idled fine, normal cold start, but after a minute or so, the revs started to rise, back up to 3000 rpm and now im no further forward. Its got me completely stumped. Just gonna take it into Hyperdrive (the performance shop) tomorrow and let them have a look at it...
  5. Yeh good call Rich. Admittedly, I skimped out a bit when doing those injectors the first time, so I've only got myself to blame i guess... New o-rings are here, update in an hour or so.
  6. my car is MAP sensored, so when there's a vacuum leak, instead of running rough like MAF cars, is senses the vac leak like an open throttle, and raises the revs - but if my car was MAF sensored now, i would be idling rough id imagine... those o-rings were the ones going into the manifold, not into the fuel rail. new o-rings today... hopefully problem solved.
  7. yeh that fkn o-ring was my problem... prick of a thing to get to on my car, entire top half of the intake manifold needs to come off to get to the fuel rail (like half an hour job even though ive done it like 10 times now) good luck bro, hope ya get it sorted. darwin needs more GTR love on the streets lol
  8. sorry man i dont have much experience with 26s... ill just say that in advance lol stock duration is 240 deg IIRC so youve got an increase of 15deg there, should shift your powerband up a fair bit, but i cant see it having that much of a drastic affect of your idle, the overlap wouldnt be THAT major. compared to say, the 285s that some people use. in theory, if 265s cause you to loose that much idle vacuum, a car with 285s would barely idle sub 1000rpm! but that is a classic symptom of a vacuum leak on a MAF sensored car. try spraying carb cleaner/aero start around the intake manifold, and if your idle changes or your misfire etc, youve found your vacuum leak.i guess you're gonna have to hear from another 26 owner as to the vacuum they see... do you still have the ITBs?
  9. Yeh cams will affect vacuum, wats the duration and lift of these cams? also double, triple, and quadruple check your intake side, for vacuum leaks. Im fighting a leak right now, and its a prick of a thing. but id say its just the cams. does it rev and idle ok? if it pops, farts and stumbles when you rev it, thatll be a vacuum leak, otherwise, its the cams.
  10. thanks ill try that when i get the new o-rings tomorro. but can anyone confirm that this o-ring would in fact be the cause? or am i just on a wild goose chase here?
  11. nah i didnt. im an idiot i know i shouldve
  12. Hey guys... I've had a shitty idle problem in the last few weeks, my car wants to idle around 3 - 3.5k rpm, almost uncontrolled and I'm pretty sure its a vacuum leak as my car is map sensored. I've ruled out everything else, its got a flyby wire throttle and I'm certain its working fine. Noteworthy at this point, THE CAR STILL DRIVES AND BOOSTS FINE, I've seen no drop in power, boost pressure or throttle response/lag. Just the idle is f**ked. I took it to Nissan today and they did a full check including throttle position relearn, idle air volume relearn etc. and confirmed that it was an air leak in the intake manifold. They sprayed carb cleaner around cyl 2 and the idle dropped and misfired, again confirming the vacuum leak @ that point. I stripped down the entire intake side of the motor including fuel rail and injectors. This is what I found o-ring wise: (note the bottom right o-ring - the worst of them all was in cyl 2's intake runner.) (click the pics for larger) I've got WRX 440cc injectors in, and I installed them some 5 weeks ago, using the stock o-rings, as they are essentially a perfect fit, and the idle problem only came up once every few days, most times it would idle perfectly. However if I just let off the throttle when at high revs, or rev the car in neutral the idle would disappear and it would rev straight to 3k. I had to 'guide' the revs down in gear until i was at like 800 rpm and clutch out, then it would idle fine... My question is, are the bad O-rings enough to cause a substantial vacuum leak and subsequent idle problem? And why did it not surface until almost 4 weeks after I installed the injectors? What everyone's thoughts?? thanks. Cam.
  13. horsepowerinabox.com direct from a performance workshop?
  14. This man speaks great truth...
  15. thanks fellas... @ munt... i know of 2 GTs in aus, both of which in NSW, one of which has had some mods and makes 211kws @ all four. through a CVT auto, on 13psi IIRC... but yeh they're soo rare, only 500 were ever made, AND THEY'RE ALL AUTOS!!! and theres no hope of a manual conversion kit either, cos the manual gearbox in the x-trails doesnt bolt up to the SRVET's bell housing. unless you want to fork out $$$ for a custom bell housing that is...
  16. lol gotta love police hypocrisy... no one's perfect, yes. but at least if your gonna enforce rules, make sure you abide be them haha
  17. ok opinion: which wheels!? these: http://www.tempetyres.com.au/products_clos...mp;part_no=2069 or these: http://www.tempetyres.com.au/products_clos...mp;part_no=2092 what does everyone think?
  18. most underrated computer people... jump on it!
  19. ??
  20. Hey bruz, I've just done exactly this process for my turbo kit on my x-trail... downloaded the 10 billion page form, and filled it in and sent it off. I got the reply back a few days ago, they gave me approval to go ahead with it, and told me i have to get in touch with an engineering signatory. What happens now is he/she will inspect the car and advise if anything's wrong/needs changing, then ill need to do an emissions test and noise test. After that, he'll write up a report and process it through DPI. Im assuming thereafter, ill have some sort of paperwork that says shit is all legal (certificate/info plate rivited on) ... The RB25 might be a little more involved than my turbo kit, im assuming they'd just check motor mounts etc, and that the suspension and breaks are up to the job of handling the power. RE: rims, just put them down anyway, all they'll check is they don't stick out the guards, are in reasonable condition, and don't rub etc... In short, talk to one of the engineers they have on the list, and he'll point ya in the right direction... Thats as far as i know, hope ive helped a bit!
  21. lol your spelling is a joke sorry man... maybe 15-17k id say!?
  22. yeh, i think i want something jap style, with dish i know another guy thats put muranos on an x-trail they look alright, but no really the look im after... thanks anyway dude.
  23. Been driving around for a few days now, maybe about 300kms in that week, and no issues apart from a high idle from a vacuum leak, fixed easily. Going on holiday for two weeks down south and taking the Exy with me, 3 nd a half hour drive there and back on highway will sort out if there's any problems or not. all of that is cruising at 100-110kph, mostly under no load, so I can't see any problem arising, *touch wood* ill be fine. I'll monitor fuel economy closely too, hoping for about 10-11L per 100kms, considering I'm not exactly raping it everywhere with it not being 100% and being double demerits. That said, fuel economy was never my goal, I wouldn't have put a turbo kit on if it was lol Merry Christmas and happy new year to everyone! This year's bin amazing for the car and me, you guys have helped invaluably with this build, and I'm very thankful. Have a safe festive season, weather or not you believe/celebrate Christmas... Cam.
  24. check the wiring on the sender, sounds like it could be a poor connection on something, i had a similar issue with my ground wire before i ground off the paint off the chassis to make a better contact. low oil pressure causes serious damage, very quickly, so if the motor's still strong after 5 or so mins of running, you can rule out oil system failure i reckon...
