  1. I would have thought 5 years continuous use is enough to dispel those rumors, surely my old 255 Walbro's would have flogged out by now if it was ever going to be an issue... Same goes for the Xspurt 1000's. Your choice if you want to run an additive, but i would be worried what the additive is doing, not the ethanol.
  2. Only required if you plan to leave the car for month/s without using the fuel imo, I haven't had reason to run a fuel conditioner in 5 years of running e85.
  3. Speak to Barry whatever you decide, he is very knowledgeable and will steer you in the right direction regardless of where you chose to get it assembled. At the end of the day the machinist is the most important part, and workshops usually keep quiet on who they use, mainly as they don't want them getting too busy.
  4. The only 460 I have seen fail, which seized, had been flushed with water. Moisture will be your only issue, so if flushed in petrol or better, kero, and put in a sealed container you shouldn't have any problems. (edit: Spraying a little wd40 in the inlet may help combat the rust internally too. )
  5. I could barely notice any vibration caused by my mismatched rims using the same tyres. There was a slight vibration under acceleration though, only when the transfer case kicked in hard. The more power you run, the more torque gets transferred, meaning more pressure goes to the clutch pack in the transfer case. This is likely to cause vibration as there is no slip on the clutches to accommodate the mismatched tyre sizes.
  6. I doubt it, unless you run a finned o2 sensor spacer. I think the 4.9 may be less susceptible to carbon buildup in rich running petrol applications, but with e85 either is fine. Make sure any moisture can drain out of the little hole at the tip of the sensor or it will fail quickly, and mount it a few feet from the turbo with a new bung. (Usually near the gearbox crossmember) 32GTR use smaller O2 sensor threads anyway don't they?
  7. What diagnostic reader is he using? Sounds like it's in limp mode still. If there was a fuel supply issue, then the knock sensor would be picking up knock and doing it's job correctly. Not all faults will display an engine code, and sometimes the code it does show isn't related to the fault, but is a symptom of it.
  8. Same thing happens with the cleaning/flow testing solution anyway, and petrol for that matter. I wouldn't be getting them cleaned until you are ready to install them again.
  9. Make sure you change the Orings for the tank lid, good opportunity to change the fuel filter too.
  10. Now the 460 is available there isn't much point. Works great if you can isolate one pump to run 3 cylinders, at least that way you will know if one fails. 460L walbro at 20v might flow near 600kw. Would be very interesting to see it's capabilities, but I suspect the inlet may cavitate. Large singles like the fuelabs recommend 10-12an inlet lines to counter the cavitation. To flow that much on a stock looking fuel system would be crazy for those with stealth builds. Most can't believe what we are squeezing out of them already.
  11. I think it might be, but I have a few throttles here off turbo motors anyway if you need one. Where are you located Mick?
  12. Actually makes more noise the less boost I spool the turbo to. Still almost silent using the stock airbox though, in both cars.
  13. His scanner actually read it? What are the symptoms? TPS errors make the car obviously in limp mode, the throttle won't work at all.
  14. Lowering the base pressure and getting full 14V to the pump will help with flow. Look into bumping the voltage even higher if you can, 18v would be great using a high current DC to DC converter, or even tapping power off the alternator before the regulator may work? Otherwise twins would be the go, or a large external.
  15. Softer springs will help with the flutter, but it will open more at idle and cruise with vac behind it. If the flutter isn't bad just leave it, otherwise ring Turbosmart and get them to ship you the next softest spring. Mine doesn't flutter at all, on the evo or the Stagea.
  16. Looks better than the ones I made back in the day, using an evo Kompact BOV by the looks of it rather than the Nissan flange. Simple and well designed.
  17. There is no cutting of the factory harness with the 2000's either, many modern injectors still use the same Bosch plug, and the ones that run US plugs have a simple adapter these days.
  18. I will ship anywhere, the website just ins't setup well atm due to not having any time to load all the data, and international shipping calculator add-ons are very hit and miss. PM me if you like. Our crap dollar would help you with pricing nicely. Personally I wouldn't spit on Sards, I had a set here we pretty much gave away. Modern Bosch injectors crap all over them for economy and spray pattern, and any tuner will tell you it saves plenty of time on the dyno. Anything bigger than Nismo will be a drilled injector which will likely fail on you at the worst time.
  19. Just needs a slightly stronger spring, perhaps they get weak over time? The Stagea ones do the same, I normally suggest the Turbosmart Kompact BOV's for this reason.
  20. Radiator cap? I have had so many faulty ones lately.
  21. I have seen some great tools for compressing the new springs to fit the retainers, most of the tools are model specific though, as they bolt to the cam journals. You could easily make something that would do the job I think, RB's are pretty easy to work on compared to some of the euro heads I have seen it done on.
  22. Lookin good Zach. Message me when you are doing the dump install, it's a pita but if you follow a few simple steps you shouldn't have too many dramas. Also make sure the car is stone cold (overnight) and soak the studs in WD40 for at least a few hours.
  23. No adaptor plug? You want the stealth look? The Xspurt 2000's are bosch plug, possibly more have it, I would have to ask the wholesaler. You will require step down adapters to 11mm, or for the injector to be machined down to 11mm which I can have done for a little extra. You would have to ditch the injector resistor pack for any modern high impedance top feed, just remember the 26 injector is a 30 year old design so anything based on that (ie same body design like Sard) will be crap. Newer won't have 2 holes either, possibly 4,6 or only one, but that makes fark all difference at the high gas speeds inside the runners.
  24. Looks good Mike, they will work much better than the old melted down coke can cast compressor wheels. Should have incorporated surge slots into the sleeve.
  25. Where you been to not know me Andrew? I have a set of Xspurt 1000's here waiting, but the lower adapters usually come in the box with the rail. I could spin you up something on the lathe, or sell you a cheap rail kit and steal them out...
