  1. Yes its certainly clutch choice that makes or breaks a GTR box. I've been doing 7300rpm (380rwkw/-5s) launches on Hoosier Drag radials, i expected the box to break in all honesty... But instead i destroyed a front diff after maybe 25 full launches. I was also flat shifting 3rd - 4th just for shits and giggles. At LEAST 50-60 odd launches on street/semi comp rubber too. And thats just since I've owned it. Let alone the 2 owners for the last 7 years, must be triple digits lol. Thats using a Nismo Coppermix Twin though which is not as harsh as the buttons etc.
  2. Sounds reasonable Mark Id guess somewhere around 18psi, be good to get some graphs to see how they compare against my 2.6ltr
  3. I'd be wary of taking Berocca... I believe it is banned in a number of major countries across the world due to 1/2 of the additives in it being not so good. Google doesnt give me much other than a few websites, that im dubious of their level of accuracy No doubt Terry or someone will be able to find out more
  4. I think its pretty obvious what happened. Turbo shat itself. You don't avoid the question 3 times for no reason.
  5. Yeah mine will be going in next week. Had to spring for the fixups after the destruction @ Drag Battle
  6. If it's pulled apart by a professional, then yes. By the sound of it, and no offence, if you DIY you aren't going to find out.
  7. I doubt it will run well enough to be driven. I accidentally flicked my Nismos over to stock a while ago & the car ran rather poorly Just fit them there, doesnt take too long
  8. How was the motor run in? Did the machine shop actually measure all the tolerances and so on, or simply assemble and return (which assumes you measured it all up).
  9. ^ +1 to motor assembly. If its not knocking, rattling etc and breathing that heavily... Does not sound good at all for the build.
  10. In my experience it is always the lower AFM. It would make sense as its closer to the heat etc. I highly doubt it will be the plug, your car is not old enough. If it was a R32 GTR then i'd say possible. The wires are nice and thick/simple compared to whats inside the AFM/circuitry being the reason (if you'd seen one apart, you'll know what i mean). Just because you jiggle and it plays up, is the tell-tale sign the internals of the AFM are dead.
  11. Neither. Doesn't come close to the ~$5,000-$5,500 for the Step 0 kit. Not really sure how it's the same, or more at all. Crank - $1100 / Pistons - $1400 / Rods - $1100 $3600 Lets be realistic if we are comparing prices, the HKS kit is nowhere near the same price. Its over 35% more expensive. Not talking "mates mate rates here either". I'm talking what you can get it from right now over the next from RHDJpn/Greenline etc.
  12. Well I was running 109-111mph with 220rwkw, 1480kg So rough guess would be 130-140rwkw or so.
  13. So if nothing was changed setup/motor wise... What's wrong with the turbo/manifold/gate (and/or) ? Can't be anything else other than that if the rest of it hasn't changed.
  14. Yep it's not the plug, its the gizzards of the AFM. Time for Nismo upgrade, dont waste time with 2nd hand AFMs. It'll just keep happening. People have had some success with repairing them, but sometimes not (as in problem comes back later)
  15. I heard you put out easy too?
  16. Impossible to make 370rwhp (270rwkw) on a stock turbo. 270rwhp (200rwkw) is the limit. I think you really need to do some basic reasearch mate before you go looking towards 300rwkw (400rwhp). Its not a cheap excercise if you want a decent setup - and for goodness sake don't look for the cheap "ebay" special items. They will end up costing you double. Buy genuine the first time. You are looking at the upper limits of the stock motor as well, so unless you have cash to rebuild, dont be chasing limits that push the reliability envelope.
  17. Ah so you had your little crank out of its pouch and were caught unawares?
  18. EVO9 perhaps? The owner is a Club Member/Mate also, he lives in the same block i do hehe. I walk to/from work though, infact i walk almost everywhere as its all 5mins (Vic St, Viet) etc. Hence i see a lot more than a 1-2min drive through would
  19. Thing is everyone is using Nismo's here without a problem @ 400rwkw
  20. You are lookin in the wrong place if you cant find a coilover for $400
  21. AFM, common problem, totally intermittent.
  22. Good question, one that has never to this day been answered satisfactorily
  23. Ah that Powers bloke is coming again. Good value to drink with that man
