  1. Front wheel is irrelevant. its the rear wheel that let's go.
  2. What did the tuner say? Given we were not there, bit hard to work out. Obviously you have issues, but without knowing what was/wasnt checked, we could go on for 4 pages and get nowhere. You have obvious boost control issues for a start, so what did the tuner say about that?
  3. Ye Micks @ $42k, i really wonder why it is still there. Its probably the 100% legitimate KM's putting people off. Everyone wanting genuine "60,000kms" on an Import from a yard... lol
  4. It is always best practice to get it as close as possible. If you wanna try and bleed of 10psi or something, then you'll be taking the risk it might not work.
  5. Indeed. Did quite well in all respsects
  6. The two things you forget in your examples. They are both objects trying to MOVE through air. Not air moving in a single direction due to pressure. I'm sure if there was any type of gain - it would be a 'new must have' product. Even if it didnt do anything people would still probably buy it blindly if the marketing was good enough
  7. Ye a few other people are looking pretty much that same thing! There is also a Sandown day either a week after or before as well - hopefully after Superlap is done we will see some interesting cars confirm they are coming too
  8. Yeah people drop 5k almost as soon as they pickup the phone as they are so desperate. Sometimes even more as people simply think R34 GTRs are worth a fortune when realistically you can get them landed here now for under 40k... Begs the question why a owner of a vspecII thinks its worth a 20k premium (as IMO, it simply isn't!) Some R34 GTR's have been on sale here for 5-6 months now, people are desperate too. If they started off with a more realistic price to begin with they'd have been sold aaaages ago. Too many people get caught in this trap and end up wasting time, money and taking a lower offer than they initially intended. Price it for what you would sell it for straight up. Generate the right interest from the start = boom sold car. The other issue is, people see a car for sale for so on - and wonder why. Perhaps is there an issue etc etc. Same could be said for a car that is "too cheap" in terms of pricing, but thats what pre-purchase checks/inspections are for.
  9. $300-$400 is what i would expect to be paying for coilover swap out. And then another ontop for the alignment and stuff which will take a while. I also use Traction Tyres. Won't use anyone else after 4 bad experiences @ other places over the years. Not really helpful given you are out west, but all my bad experiences were from the west/north unfortunately I'll also take a stab you'll end up having to replace other worn parts in the front end. So expect the bill to go up a little more. Perhaps wheel bearings, tie rod ends etc. Those things get old and if not changed before they will no doubt be stuffed or close too it.
  10. Given it is not really a "retune" at all, given you are basically changing all the parts that require attention... Probably more than you paid last time. Given all new parts take time to configure, setup and then tune correctly.
  11. Thread closed. Believe it or not, but since SAU started more than 7 years ago, this topic has been discussed before. Please use the search function in future. It may be found here: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/index.php?app=core&module=search&search_in=forums While we understand that it can be frustrating to have your thread closed - Please consider that other members may feel it to be disrespectful and selfish of you to post a simple question, without using the search feature to review the wealth of information provided by said members over the years. If you still feel that this action is unjust, then please PM me and we can discuss it further.
  12. Welcome to Just Car Insurance who are onboard as a Sponsor www.justcarinsurance.com.au www.facebook.com/justcar No doubt quite a few of you all have cars insured with them, they will also come along with a trade stand for both days with people you can chat to on the day about Insurance for your ride
  13. That is far more accurate. It's a R31 - catching fire is just what they do
  14. Or price it reasonably and sell it in a week. Stuffing around for 4-5 months trying to sell an import for that extra '3-4k' just isn't worth the hassle in many instances. 100's of questions, tyre kickers and time wasters.
  15. Lucky man! When i was running 17psi & a 7psi spring i had gate creep (45mm progate) no matter what around 14psi. Would climb to 17psi eventually but it was a good 1000rpm late. Changed to a 14psi spring and problem gone instantly Trying to get rid of 2-3psi is easy - trying 7+ can encounter problems.
  16. SAU-Vic member discount one? Legal alarm for insurance, installed & supplied for around $300. Can't beat it. Spending mega $$$ on an alarm achives little. A good alarm, poorly installed is worse than a cheaper alarm installed better.
  17. What you mean 11-14? Never heard of springs being rated to "ranges" like that. Either way, closet to the target boost level. If you want 21psi, get the 19psi spring.
  18. No idea - i think over like 3 separate venues so far given how many people are coming up I aint even booked my own accomm LOL
  19. No idea? The Accommodation Widget on the site will give you an idea pretty quickly. It's real time - so you can book now http://www.saunats2011.com/accommodation.html
  20. didnt realise this was a discussion about 1:1 ratio of $$ spend vs $$ recouped. Was a simple question of would a modded one sell for more, the answer is most certainly - YES!
  21. Ye ill still do the testing - even though the post doesn't exist Wont be for at least a month, probably 6-8 weeks. Will chuck a FI post up once i do etc.
  22. It's not a super-rare model/collectors item. So if someone puts a built motor/brakes onto it - i tell you now it wont sell for LESS than it would if it was stock. That's just madness.
  23. Modified wont necessarily lower the price.
  24. Its really amazing just how close they all are to each other!
  25. Please do not leave later. Too often people have been arriving 15-20mins before driver briefing starts which doesnt leave enough time to check in, get car prepped/scrutineered etc etc. If you do this you will miss your first event. There simply isn't enough time to deal with late comers and hold the whole event up as a result.
