  1. 366kw @ the hubs, don't forget that isn't @ the wheels. No way a .63 makes that power @ rear wheels, 320rwkw would be more realistic (on E85) You need a GT35 with a .82 rear end, tried and proven to do exactly what you want. I believe Dan/Noel have been doing work with a GT3788 (and other VCT stuff) however I'm yet to see them post results but it sounds like interesting developments. Hopefully he can comment further. I think they make closer to 400rwkw however. After 5 years of racing a motor, if you are pulling it out and putting into another car. Without question you should be pulling it down and rebuild/refresh it anyway mate. No doubt a fresh set of bearings and rings at the very least just for the bottom end. What RPM are you looking at using? A 650-700hp turbo (.82 rear is required) you really wont need more than 8,000rpm. There are countless GTRs here with stock valves/cams and making between 330-380rwkw. And these heads have been rebuilt so springs replaced and so on - so they aren't old. Are they "tending to fail" on 10-15yr old heads? Cause without a doubt i would agree in that instance its a reliability issue, any 15yr old head would be. I guess at the end of the day what is your overall budget? That is always a good starting point, even if it is @ the end of my post I say this because if you settle for say 320-330rwkw now, why not save money now and then add on extra stuff when you freshen up in 4-5 years time? It wont really cost you anything extra given it's getting refreshed anyway. That's exactly what i would be doing IMO.
  2. Wonder when we will see photos of the failed BW 9180 then?
  3. See this is why we need everyone to give input Top ideas Sir Snow. Would make it easier to manage indeed given some of the cars coming along
  4. Ye 45 profile is a bit crazy, surprised they even make a 45 profile for 19s Even my 18s are a 30 profile!
  5. Ye as Dan said, depends on what you want ultimately. If you want to log a few extra things. Keep the Autronic. If you don't then the PFC will also be fine. Most circuit GTR's in Vic that are still street driven on occasion all use a PFC. When you go out & out racecar, extra logging can indeed be handy etc. You'll need to decide/talk to your tuner & what not.
  6. ^ Ye +1 I can bet my balls i know where he is getting that "advice" from. But ye, not a chance that turbo will crack more than a legit 360-380rwkw. 400rwkw is a dream. Plus it's RWD 400rwkw without some serious wide-body/overtyre action simply isn't going to happen. Hy GTS-R was utterly undriveable with 370rwkw, was sideways coming onto boost in 4th. Without basically redesigning the rear end traction is not going to occur Plus 278.280 cams are a bad choice for a turbo so small. Especially when "response and efficiency" are listed in the first post. Such oversized cams are FAR too big to be responsive. Well i have stock: gearbox / plenum / block / piping / cooler / ignition / cams & valvetrain / balancer / rods & crank Holding up high 300rwkw fine, as have countless other setups. Sees 8000rpm & the limiter regularly. Stock shit holds fine if you know what you are doing. Infact i probably have more stock bits, thats all i can think of @ this hour of the morning.
  7. Hard one to judge that The fact there is "classes" makes it easier for a track day. Something to consider. Also thinking something else like "Bonnet Up Award" for the guy who spends the most time fixing stuff haha. Hrm yer fair point. Perhaps just best intruder it might have to be. You can't win something if you aren't entered though remember
  8. I was doing 2.9 60fts with a 225/60/16 Just some shitty dunlop tyre, about $150 worth. So dropping back to 16s will help, but you clearly are lacking in practice at then moment as there is no way just going back to 16" rims/tyres is going to get you 0.5 of a sec You need more practice, and whether you accept it or not - i tell you 100% right now you are down on power.
  9. 3 times ya mean Dirty old kent
  10. lol if i wasnt sick as a dog atm, i probably would although they sorted it out in the latter half. Clearly spamming the first half of the race simply due to viewer numbers/advertising sales
  11. 20% of the race so far lost to ad breaks.
  12. Break one, 2 laps lost Then another break 6 lapes later. Fks sake. THIS IS BULLSHIT
  13. Another race, another webber fail on the start line. So so bad. Just dial in RPM and GO!
  14. It's all on the Motorport C/Ship Sticky, few threads up from this. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/350928-2011-sau-vic-motorsport-championship/
  15. Dyno sheets mean nothing, MPH is a very good indicator of how much power you have. Fact is with 5rwkw more, I was running 10mph more than you... That is a massive discrepancy. You are 100% down on power, or backing off before the end. I bet your MPH hardly changes on your next outings. A 220rwkw GTS-t should be running 13.0 all day.
  16. Well given the cars aint gonna get there on their own, makes sense some would have to drive
  17. Trophy classes will look something like the below. If people have and ideas for other trohies/classes etc then post up and if budget allows, we shall see if we can't include a few more SAU Nats - S’n’S Trophies Best Pre 1986 Best R31 / R32 / R33 / R34 / R35 / V-Series / Stagea / Silvia / Zed Best overall GTS-T / GTR / GT Best Intruder (Non Nissan) RWD / AWD Best I.C.E. Best Concourse - Pre 2001 Best Track Car Best Street Car Crowd Favourite Tough as Nails Burnout King (if able to organise the burnout comp, in discussions with Insurance at the moment) Winton Trophies Fastest Lap Modified 4WD Fastest Lap Standard 4WD Fastest Lap Modified RWD Fastest Lap Standard RWD
  18. Your 60ft's the what is hurting you mate. 2.4 is really average at best. Are you just dropping the clutch? Or feeding it in? Get the 60ft down to 2.0 and you'd be prety close to a 14 flat. However in saying that, there is no way you have 215rwkw with only 100mph. Its more like 170rwkw as with 220rwkw i was running 109-111mph. 10mph more, with a weight that would be very close to that of a R33. So definately you are down on a lot of power for such low MPH assuming you aren't backing off before the end etc.
  19. Examples of some of the trophies. There will be different ones to this, but just gives you an idea of what to expect... Going ALL OUT! Also prizes are slowly arriving. To kick off there is a $500 Shell Fuel voucher There should be at least another $2,000 of prize coming in so it's shaping up to be a pretty awesome event. Also trying to organise an After Party & presentation for the Sat night, equipped with some of Melbournes regular DJ's etc
  20. Ye just pointing it out as too many people think a dog box is a "set and forget" item when realistically its the opposite and "realistic" cost is a lot more than the box itself. Especially if you are paying for labour every 6 months to have it taken our and anything that needs replacing - replaced. No doubt it is cheaper but i know 4 people without a problem on OS boxes from 400rwkw to 600rwkw. And its not like these cars aren't driven hard. Just driven without trying outshift the box each gearchange
  21. There was also nothing mentioned at all about any GTR hitting 400km/h @ the top of 4th. I mean - we'd both know - given we were there, actually running our own cars
  22. What people also don't realise is that boxes like the PPG need to be regularly pulled out, maintained/checked etc or they too will end up with the same fate as any other box. At least with a OS, if you don't shift faster than the box can handle, then it'll never require you to do anything. So whilst it might be a 6k box, that's all it will ever be. Spend 6k on a PPG and then have to pull it out once/twice a year, replace the worn parts etc suddenly its a 10k gearbox in a couple of years. Not sayin the OS is better or whatever, just that too many people think putting in a box like the PPG is a "set and forget" option. Which it isnt.
  23. Put 16" rims on, tyres @ 20psi There is certainly a 14 sec pass, maybe 14.8-14.7
  24. Either you are talking our your anooous... or they are. Doesn't matter either way as there is zero chance that will happen. Top of 4th doing 400km/h... lol. please.
  25. Ye ratios make a big difference indeed. When the OP said 1430, given its a N/A 300ZX - i simply based off my time of around 1500kg as there is no way a 300zx comes in @ 1430 with a driver I still say 130-140rwkw with that MPH for a 1500-1550kg car
