  1. Not really sure what you are getting at in the above. The statement made, Nismo drops off @ high boost, was quite simple. Hence the use of 72psi, equal to around 30psi boost give/take. Talking about 3bar/EFI standards is nice, but effectively pointless in this discussion. There is no actual flow data anywhere around for a Nismo pump @ anything other than base rail pressure, which is utterly useless. Standard or no standard it offers nothing to help confirm/deny. Until someone actually has Nismo flow data, it's just speculation. You cannot say for certain that @ 60-70psi the flow is still 25% more (what Nismo quote @ base). It could indeed drop off making the comment valid. All my post did was seek to give an idea of the comments validity.
  2. Its a Nismo Airbox, hence it fits with the Nismo piping. You cannot fit airbox with HKS piping far as i know. You have to use pods, which is going backwards unless you do some proper CAI/ducting etc.
  3. Perhaps although i doubt it would have saved the diff, huge RPM launches on sticky rubber - something was gonna give. Mind you that diff must have seen at least triple figure launches in its life. So it's done good service for a stocker
  4. A 650hp 26 will never be nicely driveable You've got lag to content with, the R35 simply doesn't. Gearing is also another factor you'd need to think about. A 35 box is designed around its weight, torque/power range and gearing... A 2.6ltr will be very different. Realistically if you want lightning fast shifts you need a hollinger, or a manualised auto or something.
  5. sweeet
  6. Given where the clamps are on the hose, and how long the pipe/lip is - doesn't look like it was done up correctly. Make sure you get the clamp behind the lip this time around.
  7. +1 If i dial up 4500 and jump off the clutch at a 100% throttle press, it's smoking all 4 wheels no problems. Rears start turning and then the fronts kick in and it's a smokeshow! Month or so ago @ MotiveDVD Drag Battle i had Hoosier Drag Radials on - combined with PowerFC Pro. Set the limiter to 7300 - foot to the floor and let the clutch go and hang on. Happy in pants launches for 2 days. I expected to break a gearbox for sure... must have done at least 30 launches like that... but no... the gearbox held fine Eventually destroyed the front diff (which is much worse), so i'd not reccommend such action if you don't like breaking stuff hehe. Nismo diff on the way, and then i'll be out there doing it again
  8. Arrived yet Phil? Waiting for guinea pig results!
  9. Its not the main advantage at all. It's an overall package that simply has better everything. It's not just fast because of the gearbox alone.

  11. No it's not. Nismo pumps, according to their spec sheet - flow 276l/ph @ 3.0kg/cm2 !!! 3.0kg/cm2 = 42psi, pretty much stock rail pressure. Add more pressure, it totally changes the game. No one runs 42psi fuel pressure on a boosted application. If you look at the testing - its at 72psi not 42psi. The flow rate is nowhere near 276l/ph once you add 20psi. The Bosch is also tested @ 72psi, so it's comparing on a even playing field. Not Nismo's pointless specification.
  12. anyway, this is a 300-330rwkw thread, nothing to do with 400
  13. Define 'high boost' we talking 20psi or 40psi? Plenty of cars running 400rwkw with a Nismo on 20-22psi with a 2.8-3ltr. For anyone interested i did digging the other day with some actual flow test data. Bosch/Nismo, pretty close. Bosch will flow more @ 72psi, but it's not huge amounts.
  14. Cant see him didnt happen
  15. You might wanna check the CAMS revisions to the rules of late
  16. Shan was there? Pics or it didn't happen.
  17. True - forgot about that. But that's if he wants to use O2 sensors. They are certainly not a requirement with a decent tune IMO, i dont run any.
  18. Where did i say that i care? I wouldn't have a bosch in the car if i did.
  19. Basically nothing - isn't nothing spew-bucket Just giving him another option should he want it. I have a Bosch in the 31 and its certainly audible. Can't hear the Nismo in the GTR (be that a problem or not for the user i dont know). Better to have too many options than none at all.
  20. You really don’t need the cooler kit, it’s just spending money for zero gain. You could sell and get $$ back for other stuff if you need. And definitely throw the Walbro in the bin. 044 is fine. If you want a direct bolt-in solution then go Nismo – either/or will be fine. Bosch just takes more work to fit it. Cams – a topic that will be forever debated for/against. I will say stock for on/off throttle response. Others will say 260 they look better on the dyno. So it’s very subjective topic. V-CAM – Not the same as “cams” either. It’s a full VCT system. Expensive for the gains you’ll get with -9 turbos. -9s are just so responsive anyway (3300rpm you are well on). If you have money to burn then why not I guess, but it’s a LOT of money for what you’ll get back. Cam Gears – 4000% worth it. Best “$$$ vs gain” mod on a RB26. (wont need if you go V-CAM tho) Manifold – IMO lot of effort, given the fitment issues. Stick with stock(ported) items, fit perfect, look stock, retain factory heat shielding etc. Fuel Rail – Not required if you have bolt-in injectors. Rail will do not much more than look shiny
  21. Just a quick point - Careful of which "N1" items mate. R34 are the only decent ones! R32/R33 are terribly laggy, so you'll wanna avoid those if you go down that route. There are 2-3 sets of -7s (R34 N1 eqiv) for sale in the classifieds area at present
  22. leave the following: stock intercooler stock intake piping stock airbox stock exhaust manifolds (maybe just port match etc if you want - CAN be left until you rebuild anyway) All are fine and perfect for 300-330rwkw & will be fine when you rebuild & go for 380rwkw later. If you are only going to run 300rwkw, you can also leave the injectors as stock ones will be OK. Stock AFM will be OK for 300rwkw also BUT - you'll need to change them later for more power. Definately put the CAM GEARs on though, best value mod you can do. The bottom end could be fine for quite some time @ 300rwkw though mate, you should get smaller turbos now and swap later. By quite some time i mean 3+ years easily which is a long time to live with lag for the sake of less than 10% increase to rebuild budget later on
  23. The chemical in Nose Spray isn't addictive, it's actually damaging phsyically to the nasal gizzards. So if you use it too often/too long, damage gets done and you lose things like sense of smell, and you'll find even after stopping use for 6 months your nose is more blocked than normal etc. Bit different to a dependancy/addiction when its actually damaging. Eye drops though i can agree with, the body will stop naturally producing its over fluid if you use it for extended periods. It's similar to shaving. Shave every day, your beard etc grows faster. I found shaving every 3rd-4th day, it grew much slower as a result.
  24. faxed this morning, payment to be credited from May as per email
