Tips For Doing A Good 1/4Mile
R31Nismoid replied to AngryRB's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
Doubt it'll make a difference mate as soon as you hit 4000 it'll just spin then as well. Infact off the line it might even spin a bit anyway. Wheelspin is fine, you are on street tyres so you cannot expect it to launch perfectly. Just try a bit more right foot/left foot control with throttle/clutch. Combine that with you 16s @ 20psi I reckon you could improve. Practice makes perfect anyway. Don't expect to be running the best times until you've done a good 20 passes and really worked out the feel of the car. Manual racing is quite difficult too compared to Auto. -

Do you have stock wheels at all? Take the 18s off, and put 16s on - let em down to 20psi and you'll certainly notice quite a difference. I did all my racing on 16" R32 GTR wheels -
Ok SOLD! I will let you know when i find out more about it!

Tips For Doing A Good 1/4Mile

Should have kept it dude. You can't workout where you are going wrong if you don't know. Your 60ft might be ok, your MPH might be bad (car has power issues) Your 60ft might be terrible, your MPH might be good (traction issues) 60ft & MPH might be bad (more than one issue) More information = better answers. Get back out there and this time keep ALL your slips so you can get an idea of performance -
I knew there was some results of flow testing... Finally found it. Bit long winded but I think it's some pretty good info. (Gotta love a 12hr night shift for research purposes) http://www.stealth316.com/2-fuelpumpguide.htm Factory GTR pump flow: 230L/hr @ 72psi (13.5V) So lets assume a Nismo pump is the same as stock GTR pump (its 25% more apparently, I have reason to think its the same, thats for another discussion) Bosch Flow Rate PDF (63kb). Bosch 044: 200L/hr @ 72psi (12V) So clearly the Bosch if wired up @ 13.5V will flow more, and that overall the Bosch would be the better pump - I'm sure we can all agree on that. However we are not talking about max flow rate What are we talking about? Flowing enough fuel to supply 600cc injectors. Now this has nothing to do with torque, just maxing the injector on a flow based level. So power output is irrelevant, size of motor etc. To achieve this you need 3.6L/min as Rob82 said before. Flow required: 216L/hr @ approx 60psi. (40psi base + 20psi boost to be generous) So clearly both Nismo & Bosch flow rates are more than adequate for 600cc injectors that are @ 100% duty. Even if you bumped the base pressure to 50psi + 20psi you still have enough room. If the Nismo pump is not flowing enough, it is as i said earlier one of two things 1. Nismo is dying. 2. Nismo is not wired correctly. Both are possible, both are very easy to check. Hope it adds a bit to the discussion. I'd be asking for that Nismo pump and flow testing it if I were you Scooby

Do you have a timeslip? -
200cc you mean (when comparing to the 3-4 2.8lt results so far in the dyno threads). TangoMatt was one of those as well don't forget. Over 400/2.8/Nismo. Aaron34 - almost the same setup.

Tips For Doing A Good 1/4Mile
R31Nismoid replied to AngryRB's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
Well 160-170km/h is 100-105mph So which is it? Don't you get a 60ft time on the timeslip? -
Or a tune with a bucket of fuel in it.
-
There is zero chance a working Nismo pump will be maxed with those turbos, let alone @ 300. There have been 2.8lt strokers making 420-440rwkw with a single Nismo pump on 800cc injectors. So not just 2.6lt here. I realise a 30 is another 200cc more, but it's not a magical fuel eating beast. Extra - yes, but it's >10% capacity that isn't going to use 50% more fuel, thats just ridiculous. And going off what you are saying RE: 1600/70% - if that's the case then Scoob's 600cc injectors will be maxed @ 300. The only way to explain that is two ways 1. The pump was dying (rare & super ez to check) Or 2. Wiring wasn't correct, and as part of 044 install, that was fixed.

Good luck trying to guess a tune Perhaps have a search, there were threads on them from 3-4yrs ago, that would be the best bet for info. -
Tips For Doing A Good 1/4Mile

With 220rwkw and a 1400kg car (without me in it) this was the best i could achieve ET: 12.9 MPH: 109 60ft: 1.9 This was using 225 street tyres, 16inch wheels and 20psi. I had a perfectly working LSD too, which is important. I was also using rock hard coil overs. Must have done at least 60 passes, could be 80 or more and had a lot of runs between 12.9 & 13.1 so it was consistent. Without providing the following info we really cannot help you workout where you are missing. MPH: ET: 60ft: Power: Don't expect just to be able to put the foot to the floor as well. It's not a GTR My passes required careful throttle control and use of clutch and not always 100% drop clutch and plant foot. -

There is certainly just a little bit of aero going on from what i saw last week Some really impressive/detailed stuff, along with the rest of the car which really does leave you jaw on the ground. After just seeing that one car, I'm spewing im working and can't make it to WTAC -

You would be correct -
-5s and 2530's are not the same. A GTX35 is 750-800hp, that is more than -5s
-
GTX is rater high, so not same.

I like it too there is no denial there. Obviously it's not 'promoted', but people aren't under any illusions. Lots of them don't compete because they aren't upto the public scrutiny on a stage infront of judges. They just judge themselves in a mirror 4hrs a day.
-
Ye this is why im wondering. I can eat 1 200g tin of tuna a day and thats about my limit. But I've certainly read that the more "pure" they are, the better in that regard. So you certainly get what you pay for in that area.
-
Ye it has good effect on metabolism and serves to give the body a bit of a kick. Plus one huge gorge/cheat meal isn't really going to alter the weeks diet much at all. I'll ask the dude @ work if i can chuck up some of his pics - strict as 40yo with diet etc. He gives himself 1hr per week to "go nuts" and eat anything and everything (like 1 large pizza, 3 icecream cones and maybe 2-3 cans of coke) except when prepping for a comp. Says it hasnt affected him at all and is a good 'break'.

Wow... WHAT THE FUCK!!! That is ridiculously intense.

Well that is kind of a bit misleading mate. Body building competitions have categories. Natural & Not. The Natural guys are drug tested etc to ensure compliance, and that's the nature of that competition. The other guys, well thats just a free for all and then there are also various classes within each group with regards to Age for example
