  2. I've never heard of a defect being carried over into another state. It's a totally different jurisdiction.

  9. Wow now that is a very different results indeed mate. I don't think an extra 50cc is going to make a 30% duty difference from a 2.65 to a 2.7 3ltr would of course but very interesting indeed. As i said earlier best i can get under full load in 4th is 64% Suck it an see Marko!!
  10. On a side note - What ill do if you want is get my car and a mates out, and you can sit in the passenger seat if you want and see for yourself? Most of my mates with GTR's have -9s on at the moment, so wouldnt be too hard to find someone
  11. No Tarmac rally GTR owner is running 370rwkw+ mate. -5s don't kick in @ 3600-3800 either. Yes they start making boost/power there but in reality they don't come on until after 4,000 and it's very noticeable if you've had -9s beforehand as i have. Don't forget you are seeing a loaded up dyno run, in 4th gear - then ye they come on @ 3,800rpm. I'll check tonight if i get a chance but I think 3rd is around 4200-4400 and even 3rd is 150km/h. Just because you are sitting @ 4,000rpm doesn't mean you'll instantly be on boost either. Smaller turbos will come back on boost sooner @ any given RPM. That's just physics. Each to their own. If i had my day again I'd go back to -9s for street/circuit/tarmac. The extra lag simply isn't worth the power.
  12. stock dumps will be ok as well. i had stock R33 GTR dumps, made 340rwkw outta -9s on a full build. spent $600 on tomei when i put on -5s... all that changed was the exhaust note. power/result was the same as other -5 equipped cars with factory dumps. need 3.5" exhaust @ a min though, and big front pipes
  13. Also Chris ran a 1:19 around Sandown recently, without -5s, so goes to show you dont need 370rwkw+, and that 330rwkw with good confidence will be just as fast.
  14. Too laggy for a street car. They are utterly useless below 150km/h, -9s are faster to 150 - I can promise you that. You also notice the lag in/out of gears massively. Its now a case of pushing really hard up through Kinglake etc as there is so much lag coming outta corners.

  18. I just get the Sirena chilli - and drain the oil. The 120kg monstrosity @ work reckons it's good enough so i'll go with that lol I generally use the tuna in a sambo, or in an omelette etc. Sometimes just outta the tin if I'm dying. Hopefully get back into training next week. Finally feeling 100%, been a looong time since i've had energy! How much you paying for a slab? of 185g cans?
  19. Ye it's definitely what happens mate. Mine does the same thing if I'm not paying attention. It'll only tap the limiter once/twice in a 1-2 secs. Wont flat out sit on it. Almost feels similar to the 180km/h speed cut on factory ECU's in some skylines except it cuts back in quicker
  20. Just remember they are still 2nd hand. You could burn $300 on a 2nd hand set and then have them die on you a week later

  22. Ah you have missed recent developments - I've got Garrett -5s on my car now. Just to see, I purchased a set of Tomei dumps and to put them to the test. I didnt make 1rwkw more than any other setup with stock R33/R34 dumps. No same day. Same dyno, same parts on motors built to the same spec - best i have which isn't too far off. My power curve is identical to all the others. 3.5" exhaust, no cat, Racepace front pipes etc etc. I wasted $600, just how it goes. Actually no i lie - the exhaust note changed slightly. That's all I got from $600 There is only one flaw to the straw analogy. If the straw flows the amount of air - simply going bigger offers nothing. Just because a setup dares to push the limits, and produces the results, people doubt. Only human nature, i doubted too and hence i purchased dumps even against advice

  24. Well only the officer can reneg the notice. Hence perhaps going to the station and explaining the issues. I mean you cant do anymore harm, and end of the day once the RTA can access it they will likely just trash it as they know it's not within their powers anyway. Technically you must conform with the notice and then the RTA would remove it. But as its interstate its a moot point. Other thing it might not be in the system yet due to the long w/e etc. If the officer wasnt working then he might not have entered it in right away. I've had issues in the past where I've rocked up to VicRoads and my EPA/Defect isn't even on the systems as yet due to the Officer in question being a lazy git.
