  1. post orifice is getting daily visits from me at the moment lol gotta love xmas GB's and Ebay
  2. Forums going down just before i left pwned me Im back from Syd - Next week Thurs I will start thread tonight once i tally the games. If anyone else wants to jump in - more the merrier, just state what games you have
  3. Upto you dude - I've seen "mates" that I've known for 10yrs suddenly go rogue and screw over everyone inside of a 12 month period and disappear overseas. I even lived with the bloke for 4yrs... Sometimes you just never know mate Always get a separate inspection is a very good rule for any vehicle be it a standard camry or high performance/highly modified. Anyone that gets upset at such a suggestion is obviously upto something as anyone would appreciate it as dropping 25-30k on a highly modded import is as the best of times risky
  4. what colour is it now?
  5. In theory you'd assume so. However VicRoads don't care. Sometimes they wont even ask to see the car. Just give them the RWC, hand in defect - cleared and drive home. Just depends on the person on the day if they actually want to inspect it, but no, i wouldnt see a reason to require the specific things listed. Most places do them for that price, some cheaper ($65-$70) My overall pricing was 200/300 simply because id take a stab the car isn't 100% perfect. Most cars aren't. Steering rack leaks and so on are common.
  6. Well yes and no Remember the days of going from bush to ball bearing etc. There was equal amount of debate back then as to whether it was "better" or not. Also look from say a T04E, to a comparative (in terms of flow/500hp), say a GT3076 - they are light years apart in reality. I think with newly designed, billet wheels, there are certainly going to be some gains. Not as signifigant are previously seen ones, but the GT series turbos are showing their age now at around the 10-14yr marker or so now. Stands to reason there would be new developments/tech that should improve things when going to the GTX series. Yes the comp maps look excellent. However the results will be in back to back tests when someone swaps a GT with a GTX of the same stature. I'm still on the fence, however the theory certainly suggests the results should be interesting none the less.
  7. track availability and other considerations made between clubs
  8. It's fine to have a hole in a 32, they dont have airbags. VASS - $500-600 RWC + whatever else might be wrong - $200-300 (could be more) Expensive lesson
  9. It wont make a difference. Issue will be the throttle cable anyway.
  10. Are you subscribed to it? And that means you need to check, not just say no. Actually screen dump of subscribed threads would be good
  11. There is more to the story - apparently he needs a VASS, so there must be a few things wrong
  12. Believe what you get told, and you'll get burnt. Get it checked.
  13. IMO totally depends on who did the motor build, how long ago, cars overall condition etc. I mean it might "look" fine, but then take it to a panel beater that knows skylines for some underside measurements and you might find it was in a hit @ one point etc. Its hard to say with such little information.
  14. Running Octane booster in general is a bad idea. A once off is ok for emergencies... But then you can just stay off boost/light throttle and you'd be fine. If you keep using it you'll run the chance of fouling plugs after a few tanks, and that'll make it just 10x worse over time than using proper fuel
  15. It's where the head engineers are. They don't do licensing etc as stated. If you call up to speak to a VicRoads Engineer, that's the place you end up at over the phone. But yes, either way just go get a RWC and drive upto ANY VicRoads. IMO the officer is in the wrong and cannot specify which VicRoads you need to attend as any defect can be cleared at ANY VicRoads. It's sheerly administrative.
  16. Forget the O2 all together. Mine aren't even enabled... would get 500km/tank on the freeway given I managed 420km today and it was on 1/4 Infact the GTSR doesnt have them enabled either and i can easily get 550km/tank on FWY and around 400 around town (bit lighter giving advantage there)
  17. If the bottom line is boost, then as stated you have issues. You are not seeing peak boost until 5800rpm, thats a bit absurd for 2530's Fix the boost control, fix the output. Also comparatively, the GT35 is lacking a bit of power. It should be much closer. 2530's won't make 100rwkw more than a GT35/1.06 A bit more, yes, but that much - no.
  18. Ye around 350-360rwkw More importantly however is you knowing how to drive. Running a car into the 10's with that power and slicks isn't a basic task. many many factors come into consideration, not just the power.
  19. Replacing rubber radiator hoses with silicon hoses- waste Flushing out and replacing with new coolant (any suggestions on good products?) - any old coolant is fine Straightening fins on intercooler + a good wash. - pointless, bending fins might crack stuff, leave it. Cooling Panel - huh? Aftermarket Thermostat - waste Aftermarket Radiator cap - once again, waste. As people have said, it runs @ 80 because that's exactly - how it was designed. Running a 70 degree thermo will potentially keep the car in cold start, take forever to warm up etc. Once it IS as 80 - a 70 degree thermo won't make any difference at all. The radiator does the cooling, not the thermostat. Increasing the pressure via a higher pressure cap, simply means there is more overall pressure in the system. If temps are @ 100 degrees you WANT it to blow, as once again that is how its designed as the system will over pressurise and could damage all sorts of areas. Also the typical ebay piping kits/replacements/silicon fail as they are shit. I've busted I think 3 Samco hoses recently, and on Autobhan88. I will never change from stock (or similar quality/non silicon hosing from places like Enzed/Pirtek etc) again. If you want tips to keep the car cool in summer - there are two. 1. Flush the radiator and fluid. 2. Don't drive the balls off it on a 40 degree day. Pretty simple and more effective than most of your suggestions.
  20. yeah, neo head is another option, give it a port and so on as well before putting it on.. easy done.
  21. as per above, read the 30section. plenty of info in there.
  22. when it says 'your SQL server'... it means SAU... its an error message for us.
  23. Exactly. 700hp front, with a 450-500hp rear... not optimal at all regardless of what results you wanna quote. A 3071 would almost make the same power, but with a noticeable improvement.
  24. well you just lost any value the car had left. you can get 25 turbos for what, 150 odd. putting a 20 turbo onto a 25, you've just lost over a grand on resale IMO as whoever buys it is getting a car that's worse than factory.
