Canadian Bacon (R34 Gtt)
timmy_89 replied to 604JD's topic in Members Cars, Project Overhauls & Restorations
Haha, my slip light is on permanently ;P They way it works is when traction control is enabled, when it activates to prevent the car spinning the wheels the SLIP light flashes. When you turn traction control off with the switch the TCS OFF light and the SLIP light will stay on. Some people go to the effort of pulling the light out from behind the dash to stop it coming on. Others wire up little relays to reverse the way the light works. I just haven't bothered to do either lol. -

I have Defi's fitting in my GTT if you want to see what they look like there are pics in my build thread. I have 60mm which allows the gauge face to fit neatly behind the factory gauge location opening. 52mm gauges will sit inside the factory gauge location. -

Pics will definitely help, and perhaps you should ring Vince yourself for the specs list of the engine. Telling potential buyers to ring your engine builder is probably a turn off for people. You'll get more interest just listing the specs yourself. Also, would be less hassle for Vince as it will be you asking him once and not every potential buyer ringing and asking. -
I know I'm a few years late to the party, but whats the current situation with this car? Looked like an awesome build!

Drift Matsuri & More Drift Events!
timmy_89 replied to frozenwaffles's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
I've done a couple of the drift matsuri's at Wakefield if that was what you were referring to? I went in May, you might rememeber the silver R34 that blew 3rd gear on the Sunday morning lol.. I enjoy drifting but it's expensive to do as much as I would like to. -
The entry forms will come up on the BLCC webpage closer to the date.

R34 Handling Upgrades
timmy_89 replied to Chids34's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
The best thing I had done to my R34 GTT is swaybars. I have 24mm adjustable front and rear, you may not need to go quite that big but definitely what I would be recommended as the first thing to do suspension wise. -
Urgent Rim Fitment Help Needed
timmy_89 replied to re34perGTT's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I run 18x9.5 +22 Rotas on my R34 GTT. The guards will all definitely need rolling. The more important information will be: 1. How low is your car? 2. What sized tyres will you be running? 3. Do you have any adjustable arms? My car is low, and I run 235/40/18 tyres stretched onto these particular wheels. The rims themselves poked a tiny amount, but the tyres cleared the rear easy, whilst the front tyres scrubbed, mainly due to the low factor though. You're talking about a +12 offset which means they will poke 10mm further out, so they will be pretty aggressive, and even 235/40 tyres will hit the guards up front at low heights. Rear tyres at a 235/40 size may also scrub depending on height as well. -

Well in terms of updates. Waiting on Z32 AFM to get delivered. Booked in with Dvs Jez next month. If all goes to plan I'll be picking it up on my birthday. Good present for myself I think ;P -
Cool. At this stage I should be at both of them. A mate with an R33 GTST and another with a supercharged FT86 as well too hopefully.

What car does Neil run? I haven't done any of the supersprints, but a few of the hill climbs and they are good value. There is also Speed Week on the 29th and 30th November which has a supersprint on the Saturday and hill climb on the Sunday.

This is true, but my local 'sponsor' looks after my alignments for me anyway -
Hi all, Just thought I would create an event page on her in case any of you might be interested. The Bathurst Light Car Club are organising a Supersprint event for 2nd November. It will start on Conrod Straight just down from the BLCC club house and will continue down until the last turn onto the main straight (or at least that's my understanding anyway). For those on Facebook the event is posted here https://www.facebook.com/events/685912648158713/ Alternatively, it is on their club webpage here http://bathurstlightcarclub.com.au/event/supersprint-2/ It is a CAMS licensed event and you will require a L2S license. Hopefully I'll see some of you there

Mine just scrubs at the front because it's too low lol. I am going to raise the car about a cm at the rear and 1.5cm at the front and get it all realigned and see how that goes. I've got my camber maxxed out pretty much up front. I want to bring the rear camber back to about -1 degree neat if I can. -
8.5% interest, sounds like you should get a few extra $$$ if you can manage to get it forced anyway.

Nope no spacers. Mind you, my car is a bit lower than yours. I had to run about -1.3 degrees camber on the rear just to prevent the tyres touching the guard lol. I will be raising it a tad before the next event. The front is running -3 degrees and was scrubbing terribly lol... -

So this is the only 'action' photo I have of the day so far. Here is a photo of all my mates cars and mine. The R33 GTST and R32 GTR owners are both members on here as well. -

Here is the in car footage of my fastest lap yesterday at the hill climbs. New PB of 53.04s and definitely some room for improvement still. Car handled great but I'm going to have to get over my love of having the car low and raise it up a bit so it's not scrubbing so much up the front. I'm keen to get back there at the end of November with some fresh rubber and see how it goes. I also forgot to mention in my last post that I have purchased some Xspurt 1000cc injectors and a Walbro fuel pump from scotty nm35 from here. I have been chatting with Dvs Jez and will be booking in for a tune with him as soon as I purchase a Z32 AFM. This should give me a nice little power increase hopefully in time before the next hill climbs
