  1. not dummies. we've just had 2 really wet years followed by an upcoming hot summer. they need to do something before it gets very serious later in the year
  2. hope you get it back on track quickly to get some seat time. surely fatz has about 80 axles you could choose from
  3. you know...I might just have been unlucky, but I have one of those, not too much use (just home, not workshop) and it is leaking. Really not what I was expecting for the price.
  4. Paid for Kel and I this morning....sorry for being late
  5. ahh cool, I assumed it was knock off software. I'll give it a go I think.
  6. local retail on the HKS link is $229. I'll check a jp price at that cost. I've not had any luck with an ELM/Bluetooth adapter on any import. Scott, is the software for the china-sult all English? ie can work through everything, just not intuitive? How well does it support the range of settings in each car that you have tried?
  7. That's a damn good question - I lost an (expensive) engine when the shop removed the screen from the filter, and a cam baffle bolt came loose and made it's way into the pump intake.
  8. cool I'll give phillip a go
  9. are either Nissan dealer in town OK? that would be a quick way to get a consult on the car?
  10. yeah I had the same with my Bluetooth ODB, I think the Cima has JODB not ODB2. Thanks anyway
  11. thanks re rotor pro, I'll give them a bell. For the ecu talk, is it consult (right) or ODB (left)? I need ODB
  12. not mostly....but Nick (Blitz) who was working for UAS at the time, and who mentioned the theft, is still around....in fact i'm surprised he hasn't dropped in here yet. I am not sure the details in that thread are for the same car, the way I read it there are 2 cars and the macchina one went missing. Incidentally it may also have been recovered, I know a bunch of stuff from UAS and another NSW shop were recovered in Melbourne around that time.
  13. just a wild theory. but ironically a search says I may have been on track: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/41500-group-a-gtr/?hl=%2Bmacchina#entry851990
  14. yeah that is frustrating. I can connect the Leaf but neither the Cube nor Cima work, they must be too old for ODB2. PITA Speaking of the Cima it finally arrived on the weekend, drove it down today (goes great, it's like cruising on a lounge chair). . But...there are 2 problems: * check engine light is on (goes fine though) * front brakes need machining Is there a workshop in Canberra who aren't afraid of imports and have a consult 3 or similar tool that can turn the light off, and can machine discs? I'd prefer to get both sorted this week if possible.
  15. you mean to fit 275/35/18 on the stock 18x9" rims? That is safe fitment (ie 275 on 9" rim). Sorry I am not sure if 275 will create a clearance problem to the upper arm if stock offset, but it is only 1.5cm wider each side. If it does rub add some slip on spacers for a few weeks until you get the proper fitment wheels
  16. I've been around since the olden days, and don't remember this car at all. Perhaps it was stolen and not recovered, it did happen to a few gtrs back then?
  17. I do have one tip for that....you can buy 13mm square drive plug removers. So ideally buy one of those, and once the old plug is out replace it with a new plug. Or take it to a gearbox place
  18. good to hear that it was a simple fix, but you need to be a little careful with just putting it straight to the chassis. Does the fuel pump still turn off after a few seconds when you turn the ignition on (but do not start the car?) In a lot of these systems the ECU uses the earth to turn off the fuel pump when the ignition is on but the car does not start. If your fuel pump does not turn off (may be hard to hear), you need to add a relay where pin 85 goes to the original ECU earth to the fuel pump (12v can come from any ignition switched source to pin 86). Then connect the old fuel pump earth to pin 30 and pin 87 then to the chassis earth.
  19. The only purpose of that spring is to keep the shoe in place, so if you can't find a stagea one at a wrecker you should be able to use any spring of a similar size and strength; most drum brake setups will have one. If not a wrecker try a hardware or industrial supplies shop. And no, you won't have to adjust anything after replacing it
  20. It must be a full moon at the moment. I think Nick and OSB0RN's point is really important. What is intended to be fun jibes between 2 people who know each other can look like something totally different to the 99% of community members who don't have that history.
  21. Unfortunately a number of the mod and admin team have had to hand out further warnings and bannings today on this topic. We have also decided to hide a number of the less helpful posts. Lift the tone, think before you post, and treat your fellow community members like human beings. Or you are not welcome here. Pretty simple.
  22. Not leg pulling, I was just wrong.... I was thinking of rb26 not 25
  23. that's about the standard boost mate....is the boost controller turned on? generally it would be set between 12 and 14psi for a standard turbo
  24. Luke, I started this thread because of the increase in behaviour which was contrary to the forum rules, in the hope that people would read, think, and change how they were acting - so warnings and bannings would not be required. There is no "at fault" here, each person's behaviour gets judged on their actions only. I'll repeat, if you believe a member is trolling, report the post to moderators so we can review and act.
  25. Sorry if I gave the impression I was joking. Matt, you have been banned. Luke, at no time do two wrongs make a right. If you have a problem with someone's behaviour please use the "Report" button to notify the moderator of the section so they can review and take action. Please people take a deep breath and bring a bit of nice back to the community.
