  1. lol at strange engine number. not sure what the P stands for either. I assume copper and lead make up tri metal ACL bearings. that is why i was wondering who knows how to read/explain these things. The block is a virgin in my use, although it was second hand and machined including 0.5mm overbore before this use.
  2. oil analysis was $58. Oil change is $120 for oil and filter, + labour. Which is why I was wondering about people using them on a preventative basis. I intend to.
  3. It does have a sad smiley. And I think 94x the acceptable level of bearing material might be a sign too. No I have never used the redline oil before. Interesting that their analysis shows it is outside the expected range for 15w50 at 100oC. Whatever the expected range is at 100oC
  4. I took the race car back to the workshop because the turbos were blown - noisey whistle as they spooled up. Turbos showed evidence of oil starvation so I got an oil analysis done. results below. This is on a 7 day old production race motor. The main thing I understand is the smiley face. Also interested to hear from anyone who does regular oil analysis as part of a preventative schedule
  5. you don't have enough power until you can chirp second seriously? get them to tune it to maximum mid range power at whatever boost that is, then set the boost 30% lower and enjoy years of trouble free track days
  6. same. he is a good driver but not the best in the world. imaginary broken shoulder or not.
  7. I'll give them a good home. You coming on sunday?
  8. very hard to answer without some more detail. what are the 2 sets of tyres (brand and model)? Do either of them have an arrow on the sidewall (directional) or inside/outside on the sidewall (assymetric).
  9. +1, no matter how many times I remind myself I still close the bloody thread I was reading!
  10. No....they only have the emanage ultimate!!! hahahahah I kill me
  11. well.....according to the internet (which is never wrong), the os sequential box is actually a rebagded hollinger one. so you are just paying japan premium and getting less service/ support than buying the local one. hollingers come up on here already in skyline bellhousings fairly regularly you should expect to perform regular maintenance on any high end gearbox - once a season at a minimum.
  12. maybe you have blown an exhaust wheel off your computer noel? check in the cat. or the mouse
  13. good call on studs....but I think from the description he means head bolts. They use an internal hex head.
  14. normally just use a compressor, good regulator and a pressure gauge to confirm, the use multimeter to record voltages at different pressures.
  15. so...can you post up a voltage table
  16. pfft. he had trouble keeping up because he is a hack, and firm #2 driver in that team. I won't beleive the broken shoulder thing until I see an xray excuses from his PR company
  17. Interesting that a bunch of people on a website with same/similar cars can't agree on a set of rules. I'd hate the job, you could never keep everyone happy, especially in a transition period. Having said that, here are Duncan's motorsport categories, hereby solving all problems. 2 categories - sports and touring cars. sports cars have 1 or 2 seats and can be open or closed. touring cars have at least 4 seats. 3 classes in each: Standard: Only allow reliability mods like coolers/radiator. ECU and suspension free. Brakes free under standard size wheels. Street tyres only. Improved: No aero. Engine swaps from the same manufacturer with the same number of cylinders. Suspension pickups can be moved slightly. Gearbox and diff internals free but not sequential. Wheels +1" wide and +1" taller than factory. Semi Slicks only. Open: Aero. Cages. Spaceframes. Slicks. Sequential gears OK. 4wd/2wd/front engine/rear engine/whatever, go for it. Each broken into capacity groups: 0-1600, 1601-3000, over 3000. Turbo, rotary or supercharger x2. Not many classes, so not many hard choices. In total 2 x 3 x 3 = 18 groups to place within.
  18. it's tomorrow +++
  19. hey gregor, can't pm atm, so thanks for sorting out that payment
  20. when the motor is off? It shouldn't, but most of them do. just means you need to prime the pump a little longer when you start it if the motor is running and loosing fuel pressure you have some major issue.
  21. i pity the foo!
