  1. Fair effort! Keep at it Jeff!!!
  2. Ahhhh see my problem was i was pre-occupied with hanging on for dear life i couldn't get the calculator out hahah naa thats good to know, but i don't really follow where the figures came from what is Suzuka 140R? wheres the 140 come from and how did you get from Acceleration = 14.1metres per second squared to Acceleration = 1.438 gees.
  3. That's interesting and i can relate, after PI the other week i was taking a sweeper at about 180k, then in the arvo was doing it about 200k... even though the difference was only 20k or 10% it felt like the car was pulling more lateral G's than just the 10% increase in speed.... that explains why i was so scared
  4. what would you know, you're just a truck driver
  5. We'll have to wait for Chris to go through all the faxes when he gets to work
  6. hahahah thats awesome! 47's is bloody quick - how much more do you think you had in the car? Hard to go your fastest first time at PI.
  7. What are we talking about here again? which one is more dangerous? they are both motorsport so both bloody dangerous I guess since Circuit is faster, it means when you do hit, its going to be harder, but i guess Drifting is easier to lose control so probably more chance of hitting something, just not as hard as you would if you were doing circuit. So guess it depends how you define dangerous? More chance of hitting or more chance of hitting something hardest?
  8. HKS come as a kit with everything, Garrett don't, but either are fine, Garret Make the HKS anyway. Suspension - if you don't want to change shocks/springs you can still do geometry and swaybars.... will make a big difference, but without suspension work, 300rwkw will be a handful around the track.
  9. If its a stock bottom end, i would go with smaller turbos like GT-SS and aim for about 300rwkw, probably just under... anymore and you're going to lose the 'reliability' part you want. Stock fuel pump doesn't need changing unless it's stuffed, good for about 600HP@fly. GT-SS PowerFC + good tune(this is the key) Oil Cooler THen i'd spend money on suspension setup/geometry. GTR's stock handle pretty average, and that goes down hill if you throw more power without touching handling.
  10. Normally when you renew your cams, they send you a new sticker to put in your book...
  11. Nope, you'd need over 400rwkw... no way a stock clutch would launch that... <10k and you could probably do it, but the engine probably wouldn't last the night
  12. The walls that are close to the track.... At least at PI the walls a further away even if your going that fast that the run off isn't enough, it still makes you feel a bit better hahahah took me a few seconds to figure that one out - whats the real reason? Single spinner? Whats BTR?
  13. Did you sign his name? Naughty naughty

    New P-plate Laws!

The same reason the rest of use want to drive a fast car I wanted one when i was on my p-plates, i just couldn't afford one back then....
  19. Happy to put something together or help paul to do it if you guys want to consider it, let me know how you want it done/to look like or if you just want me to have a crack at what i think...
  20. yeah i use an Imate PDA/Phone running windows mobile 5... pretty good, i'm actually trying to develop a GPS laptimer for it.... trying being the operative word...

    New P-plate Laws!

Exactly. Laws are getting tough, but they wouldn't of had any impact on me when i was on my P's, i never drove a car like that. I can understand it will be hard for P platers to accept, but it probably is a good idea in the long run.
  22. Some feedback about applications opening at 5pm Friday (email sent out).... I realise the idea is to try to do it not in the middle of the day so those who don't sit in front of a computer all day don't miss out, but being 5pm they may do anyway. Plus most people won't have a fax machine at home and will use work fax machines (like me). Now i'll probably end up hanging back at work tomorrow waiting for the pdf to fill in and fax out from work... as will some others i'm sure.... but how about this for an idea: Use the new sauvic.com.au site with a HTML form you can submit your entry to (maybe even make payment CC gateway?) and then you print out and sign the form and bring it with you on the day and hand in when your registering.... Open up registration in the evening say 8-9pm.... anyone who is in front of a computer at that time can then register online, no fax machine needed etc.... Just an idea for future...
  23. Then i'd say the dyno is reading way high.... most good tuners seem to get around 300-330rwkw out of GT-SS.
  24. Well done, should be interesting to hear, not that i want to put a cage in, but good to know.
  25. I think i saw the same car at Crown Casino at lunchtime! Numberplates SL32IM!
