  1. Loving the intercooler piping on the front leading to behind that piece of metal = fail
  2. For the turbo selection I'd say have a look over the Hypergear thread, cheaper turbo more "bolt on" some nice results shown and their SS series is made for an RB25, I'm no expert but I hear that the internal gate housings used on the gt30 are a bit rubbish. Fuel pressure regulator also not really needed.
  3. Items: R33/32 front Knuckle and hubs. Extra Info: Must be ABS Preferably in Adelaide Contact Details: PM
  4. The sharp bits you knocked on the ends of the spark plugs usually don't cause pinging. It would however cause pre ignition which is much worse, but you would know if it has happened. As above, check the base timing it is probably over advanced, also the stock intercooler isn't to "more than stock boost" happy. Also the ecu does have knock protection, but it isn't actually that good and iirc it doesn't do much to pull timing/add fuel above 4000 rpm You may have a slight exhaust leak. sounds weird but I had that problem, sounded like pinging but turned out to be a sh*tty turbo/mani gasket
  5. Forgot to actually upload a photo with the 25 in the car
  6. Also went on a little drive with some mates, made me realise my car is a boat and needs a better suspension setup
  7. Ok so it's been a while since I bothered to post anything on here. what has been going on since the engine conversion. I had a few issues with injectors and what not, but is all sweet now and running well. Few more bits added. New Xtreme twin plate clutch also another rb20 gearbox as my old one had a horrible isb noise. In the middle of a 5 stud conversion, r33 brakes Also have some Gktech ADR approved braided brake lines. painted them black got a second hand set of wheels nice and cheap the paint was a little sh*t so i painted them copper. Primer Final coat Just need to get my hands on some hubs then bolt everything on
  8. I hear they have places for people like you
  9. I believe the same lines can be used, but have to bend them a little to fit.
  10. This is how I have mine plugged in, going in between the runners. I haven't had mine melt and I doubt the plenum would get hot enough to do any damage. If it did id say you would have a lot more to worry about.
  11. Yeah with mine It drove fine and didn't overheat. If I wasn't pedantic about it I probably never would have noticed it.
  12. Yeah mine was plugged in. I did the wiring for this engine myself out of an rb20 loom. The plug is a purple/blue plug looks limilar to a side feed injector plug.
  13. Had this problem on my old engine. Turned out the head gasket had a tiny leak, If I wasn't paranoid about my car I wouldn't have noticed. Not too hard a job to replace. Does the coolant system stay pressurised after the car is left over night? and does the top hose feel rock hard when warm?
  14. WTB. Parts for 5 stud conversion. R33 GTS-T front and rear callipers, disks, hubs and front knuckles etc Cheers.
  15. Ah ok I always thought NA's could run a lot leaner than turbos. I suppose the added compression and timing makes up for that.
  16. hmm this is interesting, I'll have to do some reading on this. Is this for all NA engines or does it noticeably change engine to engine
  17. This listen to this. You want to be as close to 14.7:1 as you can without pinging and compromising timing.
  18. Yeah I know its not that hard, but are there any other faults it shows not to do with HICAS just power steering?
