  1. Hi guys I'm pretty sure I need to rebuild it but I thought it worth asking the question. Last week I was about to race at Sydney dragway but I thought maybe I should do a compression test as I hadn't done one since fitting turbos. Cyl 1 to 5 were 150psi and #6 was 100psi wet or dry, the engine had been run that day but wasn't at operating temp. It doesn't use oil and still goes as good as it did at the skyline drag day where it ran 12.1 at 118mph. So I'm wondering if there is another test? I disconnected the cas and turned it over to listen for any difference while cranking but it sounded the same on each cylinder. Before I changed turbos I also attended a Wednesday night where the coil packs gave up and that's the only time I can think of anything actually going wrong with the car, but since then it's been dyno tuned and done at least 10 passes, is that possible with one cylinder 50psi down? Or am I just clutching at straws and need to rebuild it ? Scott

Lucky i didn't fit one then lol, I was thinking of mounting one between cat and rear muffler as they sound a bit hissy on the rear, I guess i thought maybe the cops wouldn't defect it if it wasn't noisy and then not have to go through all the hassle, but I figured they would be onto it in the end!
  4. Anyone ever used a Varex exhaust to either avoid the defect or pass the EPA test? Do the inspectors consider them illegal?
  5. Re-do everything you did even if you think it right and hopefully you will find the problem, why were you grounding the wire? Some power fc guru will be along shortly I'm sure though
  6. Do the turbos come with oil and water lines? If so how much posted to Sydney? Also how many ks on turbos and any shaft play etc?

  8. Search throttle body re-seal, I have done two now with rtv sealant and have done over 25000ks with no issues, it's easy and cheap, once u get the tb's off that is lol
  9. Sorry I was confused i thought a leak down test was a compression test done with added oil to see if readings were different than dry but clearly it's something else, do u have any pics could help sale, i may know someone who needs one for a project. Otherwise glws.
  10. Sorry to be a pain but how did you do a leak down test with no flywheel?

  14. From memory they are m6 with 10 mm head roughly 25mm long or 30mm nothing special about them though
  15. Where are u located? Actually Gtr engine removal isn't that bad, my mate and I did his in 4 hours and then another 4 hours to strip the engine and clean the work shop, there's a few little tricks but it's not really that bad at all Scott
  16. Just saw this lol, finally been spotted after driving every day all in different areas of sydney haha. This was me (dark blue gtr) and a mate coming back from unigroup after the his (silver gtr) had been tuned... we saw a few skylines that day also. actually we had a fuel pump issue at hungry jacks on cowpasture road and noticed a blue r34 gtr and a white 33 gtr at the set of lights there.... good to see so many gtr's and gtst's still around.
