  1. I wouldn't do the gasket either, I reckon the ring lands or rod bolts will go before the gasket
  2. Sounds like the thread should've been On Holiday R33 S2 at those revs
  3. should do, pretty sure the plug setup is the same for s2 & neo coils (just check the symbols near the plug for wiring)
  4. +1, stock series 1 @ around 340 on 98, shooting for a bit more soon
  5. just a standard 25 turbo is probably better for the 20, with a tune WRX? knock knock! who's there? EJ20! EJ20 who? EJ20 with #3 big end farked! now go wash your mouth out with soap!
  6. had a look at Sinco Customs?
  7. as above, only use chemiweld if you car is a $500 POS which you're trying to keep running for a bit longer before you get it scrapped
  8. the people that design this stuff know what they're doing, the stock manifold still works well at over double it's original power, and is debatable whether even the performance designs work better, but it's all good anyone can hack it up and improve it? it seems that the people against it only have proof in what has been seen in the past so have no interest in experimenting with it so far the argument for it is it's going to be boosting hard so doesn't matter? i'm surprised there's even people still talking about wanting to do it, refer the pros & cons list earlier in the thread
  9. this for sure, underneath is a nightmare
  10. That's no good Scotty, you'll probably be doing the cutting & shutting?
  11. It may have been alot hotter than the gauge says too, if it's lost enough water to overheat there may not have been enough water left in the system to give the sender a decent reading, probably why it didn't go up more as you drove further, doesn't sound good at all
  12. yeah, comes just after stomaching the reality of the budget lol
  13. you're just still gutted about trent saying tractor SRs are a long way off the 4g63s
  14. haha ok, you should really take that shitty RB thing back?
  15. some die, some are killed, i'll always take later than sooner as i said before if you want to do it & the tuner is happy to tune it, do it
  16. it would be classic to see the plenum designers face with it chopped like that
  17. /\ exactly, hard to compare with a different engines manifold, end of the day if it's what you want to do & your tuner is happy with the setup, go for it
  18. it must have a leak somewhere
  19. ok here's the list Cut & Shut Plenum:- PROS: CONS: None It's a POS Seems to cover it?
  20. the later models didn't have the voltage drop at the pump like the r32s etc, the 044 should be fine intank on std wiring?
  21. the early 25de had the same style plenum so would just be the original
  22. must be an early 25de (r32, c33, a31) plus tt
  23. you'd definitely want to pressure test & check the top hose insert isn't too loose, may need to surface it as well, after that should be fine
  24. I've seen a number of cars run the chop job, didn't seem to cause any noticeable detriment but they were usually pretty low end setups, 200 ish rwkw or less the greddy etc were designed as ffp so not really comparable, the people I knew that used to do the chop for people said it still needed the throttle body on an angle towards #1 i'm sure if we had a fluid dynamics tunnel we'd see that the flow is far from ideal, i'd never put one on my car, same as I wouldn't chop the throttle body off the front of the greddy and put it on the side
  25. ha even if its crossed to hell & back your wank arm should get it, what did you use to undo the nut on the opposite side?
