Rebuild vs second hand NEO?
WMDC35 replied to Blakeo's topic in RB Series - R31, R32, R33, R34 (1986-2002)
If you're going to go v8 or really any swap now with all the tax, I'd most likely just get rid of the car and start with something else. Unfortunately, I have a mate with a surplus of ls and Ferrari/Maserati v8's that's always tempting me FFS lol. -
Rebuild vs second hand NEO?

If you can get a clean, tested neo from Japan for $3500 these days, it's probably worth getting either way, hard not to be skeptical at that price. Otherwise probably rebuild the s2. -

Yeah, better just to cut the diff off the awd sump and grind down the fins on the bottom. -
Just a black freddy and stock covers
-
It's most likely a 25, has vct and alloy cas, only 20 neo has vct but would have plastic cas
-
I've got a type LR, for low to mid rpm, saves doing a stroker etc, imagine using the LR and HR together, hella power.
-
Yeah for sure, built to similar spec as the Blitz R34 in GT6.
-
Yeah same here, I've wasted most of my money on Nissans for realism so need to try and recover some.
-
The only R34 GTR I use is the GT500 so is RWD anyway, I might only get an hour a week to play it so haven't driven most of my cars. Some of the time trials are pretty hard, I aim for silver, too slow for golds lol.

Wheel Sizes & Offsets For Skylines
WMDC35 replied to Sydneykid's topic in Suspension, braking and tyres
O disk doesn't have as much curve in the spokes to get around the caliper. Pay to check on the work site but you'll see certain sizes and offsets available on each disk. -

18x9 +22, 18x9.5 +24, they're on a c35, a mate had the same size on a 32 gtst, but needed more camber and guard work than the laurel, pic maybe not relevant haha -

I have A disk meisters with r32 gtr brakes on the front, clears the calipers no worries. O disk rear. -
Thieving f****s, no updates so assume no news? That's the problem with the Nissans, in NZ the cops rarely recover them, so they get away with it, mine is on storage insurance at the moment, still has a 5k excess. Good luck man.

Probably not, the 20RX above has the H/SH turbine haha.

RB25DET NEO AWD into ECR33
WMDC35 replied to Blakeo's topic in RB Series - R31, R32, R33, R34 (1986-2002)
Yeah sounds like he has the loom, weigh up getting a neo ecu, nistune and swapping loom or get a new ecu. -
T67 25g 10cm would usually make 20 psi before 4k on a 25 although with a bit more compression and vct than you're running, td06h/sh 25g was usually around 300rpm later, t67 with 8cm was only marginally more responsive but down around 30kw up top. Be surprising for the l2 to not be more responsive than sh especially on a rb20, although old news I'm wondering why the sh with the 20 comp haha, maybe the sh worked better with 8cm than l2 with 10cm.
-
Back in the times when they were popular it was usually td06l2/sl2 20g, td06h/sh 20g wasn't something you seemed to see around?

RB25DET NEO AWD into ECR33
WMDC35 replied to Blakeo's topic in RB Series - R31, R32, R33, R34 (1986-2002)
Yep, need an r32 or z32 ecu or time for a new ecu, nothing cheap about keeping these cars running these days. -

It's a blue plug 33 ecu/loom? Probably the easiest way is to use all the 33 ancillaries on the neo, not ideal but works, nistune be a good idea, if it's alloy cas you'll have to reverse the wiring and coil mounts might be different, otherwise wire the neo loom in. -
RD28->RB28 conversion, Offsetground crank
WMDC35 replied to Isacnr77's topic in Forced Induction Performance
I haven't had much to do with them but if you bore it to suit rb pistons 86.5 etc then there's not much difference, if you can use an 85mm piston then would be thicker bore than a 30 -

There was a couple of gtr's at the last gtr Cootamundra day running rd28 block
