would be a good idea but i think to much bitching about its location eg should it be in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane etc would occur. Plus the cost involved i am sure we would have enough people with the know how to do the labour so that would save on cost but still without some major sponsors it would be to pricey i think

interesting point but it shouldnt be about the location, or the time it takes its about getting involved as a community and creating something special, im currently in a very intense build with my own car, with flat out work this year it may still not be ready but its very exciting none the less. just a thought tho all input welcome good bad neutral throw it in here

there is a pic of it on NS ill post up a link to it when i hunt it down a bit later, simply stating "because we arnt ns" doesnt mean much we can take on some ideas from them possibly even learn something they are not the enemies just two different communities. anyway just thought it would be good to have some ideas for and against. keep them coming

edit: http://www.nissansilvia.com/forums/index.p...howtopic=148515 thats the link to the thread a few posts down is the intended result, the other threads are about the car, current mods and where its at in terms of the build.

A SAU promo car would work, as long as its a state car, e.g. SAU NSw, SAU VIC, SAU ACT, SAU WA etc

By doing that local companies (such as paint shops) would be easier to line up as the car would be well placed promo money for them instead of having a car with their name on it on the other side of the country

Cost would be another big factor. Does anyone know how they bought theirs? was it donated by an importer for maybe........signage rights?

Definatly a good idea though

I believe that the site owner bought it out of his own pocket but many traders who support and use NS have contributed parts to the build. many if not all of the companies who donate or supply cheaper products to the car get some form of advertising whether it be on the site or stickers plastered over the car. there is quite a bit to read about it on the site if u get a chance, interesting stuff.

come on everyone SAU promo car

Definatly a good idea though

Its Loz's own car, with sponsors doing cheap deals or donating their parts/services in return for signage and build credits etc.

It doesnt have to be the latest car, it could be any of the skylines, the NS car is an s14 with an s15 front, but mods are beside the point its an icon of the club. the idea of each state having a car isnt so bad but not very practical, if we have 1 it will mean that business' out of state wont get a chance to promote as well as others but it will still give many opportunities to those who can. i live in canberra so im limited in many areas anyway however we work with what we are given. just a thought keep it coming ppl i really wanna see how this could play out.

    • The wiring diagram for the R33 RB25 is freely available, and is essentially the same same as most other RBs (just with differences as to which pin # does which job). To get the ECU to power up, you just need to provide power to the ECCS relay, and have the other power feeds that come in from the top left of the wiring diagram (wrt the ECU) that give perma power to the fuel pump relay, the ECU itself, etc etc, all connected. When you put power on all these it will just come to life. It's pretty clear from the diagram what needs to happen. Just follow the lines from the 12V + supply stuff in the top left over towards the ECU. I've even posted snips of such diagrams (not for vanilla 25, I think for Neo and 26) to various threads here in the last few months, talking about what it takes to get the fuel pump and FPCM up and going. Search these up and they will help get you started on doing the same with the vanilla 25 diagram. Hell, for all I know, I've done the same with that one in years past and have forgotten.
    • Yep...so unless someone posts up the answer you will need to probe from the ECU connector to the dash plug with a multi meter in continuity mode to trace the wires.  Note the ECU has multiple - and + (and across different key settings - Battery, IGN and Start) and most likely the power is fed from the connector(s) that is normally near the left hand headlight.
    • Thanks Duncan, I am actually just trying to get the Rb turning and running with the RB25DET S2 original loom itself  I am just trying to get it going outside the body and not thinking about the S15 or trying to match anything to the S15 loom at all I am only trying to see if anyone has done this and what pin they found to be the ignition trigger and ECU+/- on the dash connector, that's about it. Thanks
    • Hi Guys, Does anyone know any aftermarket part numbers for a starter motor to suit the VQ25DET? I can find lots of alternative part number for the VQ35DE, which I assume would fit, but there is a lot of conflicting information out there. Thanks..
    • I don't understand how this hasn't boiled down to - Upgrade the turbo when you have everything required. ECU, injectors, fuel pump, turbo, etc. Do it all at once.  If you don't have everything required, just enjoy the car as it is and keep saving up your pennies.
