Trust Manifold Keeps Cracking

with trust manifold.

cracked couple of years ago at calder park. welded it up to fix.

then few mths ago cracked again during a burnout at wsid. gotta get around to fixing it again.

solutions to ceases it from cracking again?

Do you have a decent Pic? Until we know what it looks like an where it is cracking a solution would be hard to advise.

mate im talking crack so small you cant see it

gotta do the old hose against the ear and put it on the manifold to find it sorta thing

anyway no worries ill see if i can zoom in or something

does your side pipe have a flex piece, or slip joint? if not add one. we just had to do it to the race car. cracked the extractors 3 times now with slip joint we hope it's better.

Not interested is "seeing" the crack. Just would like to view the shape of the manifold and a small circle where the manifold usaully cracks.

A flexi pipe or slip joint pip sometimes helps, but are mainly required for east-west mounted engines.

Solution may be as simple as adding a couple of solid supports, from the face plate to the flange. This will release some of the load, of the turbo and pipe, off the manifold runners.

Do you have your exhuast bracket off your gearbox? I have mine ceramic coated and it still lives

As Roy suggested, I see a lot of Skylines with the entire exhaust hanging off the turbo and the rear muffler. You really need to make sure there is a good solid mount at the gearbox bell housing and flexible mounts to the gearbox subframe and to the rear subframe.

If it has those and they are in good condition, then some reinforcement of the exhaust manifold may be required.
