Hi All,

I am really getting the sh!ts with the undertray on my R32 GT-R. It looks horrible, it barely holds on, and I reakon one decent knock or rock would tear it off its mounts. I assume Nissan charges a bomb for this (I'll check tomorrow) -- and besides, I don't think the stock material (ie. plastic) is very good -- so is anyone aware of an aftermarket alternative?

I have seen plenty of aluminium options for other Nissans and makes, and Topstage even makes a lower lip/undertray in one for the R32 GT-R, but its considerably lower than the OEM item, looks a bit silly (personal opinion), and I already have trouble with driveways...

There are quite a few floating around on Yahoo Japan. For example:

http://page13.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/r17186260

http://page9.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/k31197219

http://page11.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/n35274365

I'm really not that fussed with the supposed aero benefits, I just want something that isn't a complete eyesore and pain in the arse to get on and off. Surely some enterprising local shop has made a replacement (and, even better, a replacement lower lip as well)?

Cheers,

Lucien.

How does it look silly? I doubt u could actually see the undertray itself? Unless you mean the lip is too low and looks funny compared to the ground clearance of the rest of the car? How do you know topstage makes em? Did you enquire? Not many products on their site for lines heh

Mine came undone today. Was driving home from uni and heard a noise that sounded like something was rubbing against the guards or something. Took me half the way home to find out it was the undertray. Just put some wire to hold it up for now. probably fix it on the weekend.

Those undertrays look heaps nice from ebay. How much are they???

I know Topstage makes them because he has advertised them on here (there is also someone selling one they bought from Topstage at the moment); he's made version for various cars for ages and advertises on NissanSilvia. Search in the for sale section (sorry, CBF'ed ATM to find his thread).

As I said before, the Topstage unit is a lip and undertray in one. The lip is considerably lower than the OEM one (something like 20-30mm), and in my humble opinion (and its only *my* opinion; this isn't a comment on the quality of the work or an attack on people wanting/liking the Topstage lip) looks silly because its so much lower than the rest of the car (and, again as I mentioned, I already have issues with scraping the lip on driveways at stock height).

AFAIK, it's not a stone guard. My experience suggests it is purely to assist with airflow under the car which assists with airflow through the radiator.

I'm sure its designed for that as well, but remember it also protects all the belts (fan, aircon, etc) and other bits and pieces. Its obviously not going to stop a brick, but it will stop road gravel getting in easily.

Either way, it needs replacing.

hmm that second last one looks the goods. shame it'll probably cost about $600 by the time you get it here.

try nissan. you may be surpirsed.

Yes, they look very nice. I will be in Japan in about a fortnight and I am tempted to buy one and try and cart it back somehow (wonder if it will pass as hand luggage? :D). I'm still suprised that noone locally has made one or a replacement lip.... Whilst the overall market might not be huge, about every second R32 I've seen needs one :D

I've been meaning to contact Nissan for prices on a bunch of parts, but my computer is being a bastard so FAST isn't working. Just waiting to borrow the family laptop when I have a few minutes....

Just found this thread an I am in the same boat, my undertray is hanging off at hte back and I'd like a replacement if possible. Anyone end up getting one of these from ebay?

How much are they from Nissan?

Do any other shops like Topstage stock them now?

Hey all,

I recently bought an engine undertray for my 32GTR while i was in Japan for a holiday

It set me back 7,928 yen (excluding tax and the 10x bolts required for install)

Part number for the 32 undertray is 7589005U60, in Japanese it's " エンジンロアー" or "engine lower" in ye' old English

Cheers,

Sean

Richard,

This is the part number for the OEM Nissan engine under tray. I am pretty sure it looks like this. i just ordered a new one from Nissan for $185, so 8000 yen is a very good deal

    • The 296mm rotors are the R33 turbo brakes. The 310mm rotors are the R34 turbo brakes. The calipers are nearly the same, but not. They're the same caliper but the R34 caliper has longer legs so that it sits out far enough to go over the rotor. The pads are the same for both. When you say, "I bough tsome EBC"....did you just mean pads? Or rotors? 310mm rotors fit under 17" wheels. There may be some wheels without enough clearance though. I can't fit my fingers between the barrel of my wheel and the "corners" of my R34 calipers, but there is plenty of room behind the spokes. This is on Enkei RPF1. You can fit 324mm rotors inside a 17" wheel, but I'd be willing to bet that it would be close to impossible with the Nissan/Sumitomo caliper (using an adapter, of course), because the Sumitomo caliper is fatter than the Brembo caliper that is supposed to go on the 324mm rotors.
    • Hi. Can someone tell me what brakes(and mainly WHERE) can i buy brakes on R34 GTT? I bought some EBC which SHOULD go on my car(i have GT but it has GTT brakes) but it does not fit, Brakes are "too" small(296mm) Are 310mm be good or? I have 17 inch wheel so no "big boys" but for me driving i just need one that fits and i can get here in EU/Czech.
    • Since winter isn't that harsh anymore in Poland, i will definetely drive it 365 days a year 😉. But if the snow hits i will try it for sure and let U know. Only swap i am planning to do is of course R34 GTR front 😍.
    • Hey. Very valuable information about pitwork, I will pay attention when buying any consumable parts 🙏 As for the carpets - I got a handful of information from nengun, from which it appears that indeed the carpets for the driver's side are OEM. They are not able to show me any pictures due to the long chain of different sales entities but after I place the order, as soon as the goods arrive at the nengun warehouse from which they will send the shipment to me they can send me photos and if my purchase differs from OEM I can immediately return it / cancel the purchase. I think I will give it a try 😉. Of course i'll let you know what's what as soon as i get them P.s. I know the topic is not relevant to the thread, but both nengun and amayama have these SICK 😍 trunk room lamps available. Do you know anyone who ordered them? I need to have one in my car
