Staunch
own a 96 R33 GTS-T Series 2, mods: pod filter (cheapy brand) turbotech controller @ 8-9 psi GCG Highflow turbo 3" turbo back exhaust R34 Side mount stock ecu Problem: sometimes when down gearing (clutch in, moving into appropriate gear) the revs drop to 1000-2000rpm and runs like a pig as if choking, and somtimes turns off. I've thought maybe its because of faulty AFM, shit pod, ECU not liking the new turbo? Also does it matter if the pod + afm aren't mounted or braced somewhere? for e.g. I can lift the pod and the AFM and pipe lifts as well. does it matter if it is loose? salad
have you checked that your afm plug is in properly? i had this problem with my 32, cos i didnt have a bracket for the pod, the pod & afm were flying around and it bashed the plug loose... pushed it on properly and ran perfectly Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/122581-gts-t-problem/#findComment-2264891 Share on other sites
blind_elk
Have you had the injectors cleaned recently? Have you tried heel-toeing on the downchange? Maybe it doesn't like ingesting hot air from the engine bay. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/122581-gts-t-problem/#findComment-2264942 Share on other sites
R33S2
Legally you should have your pod fixed in place with a bracket and as 'salad' pointed out it is better for this reason. It sounds like it is flooding with fuel, maybe time for a ecu upgrade or remap. stricko
maybe time for a ecu upgrade or remap. I'll agree with that. When did it start happening? I'm guessing when you put on the new turbo. Green_s13
i would say check you afm and also have a look at your throttle body and make sure there isn't a heap of crap in there Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/122581-gts-t-problem/#findComment-2268587 Share on other sites
Links
Putting the turbo on shouldn't have that happen.. have you checked your BOV whether it be stock or not.. sounds like the normal BOV issue.. however you haven't said anything.. about it.. if the AFM is dirty it could be dumping heaps of fuel in?.. not sure.. mad082
could be dirty plugs. i had something similar to this happen. when giving it a bit of stick when i slowed down and put the clutch in it would stall. new plugs fixed it. also had a mate with the same problem, and plugs fixed it aswell.
