We never had figures (He-Man etc) or Transformers. Just not educational enough :yucky:

Nothing battery operated either - it's funny as Dad used to work with Union Carbide, you'd think he'd have the tip on batteries.

That funnily enough was the same thinking my parents had. I didnt own one figure throughout my childhood. Mates had entire WWF sets, He-man, Thundercats etc but I didnt. I just used to cycle or play football (soccer).

heaps of lego - still got it too, my parents made me keep it when i didnt want it, and now ive got it for when i have kids or find suitable ones in a playground somewhere.

Also had alll the Voltron and Castle grayskull, and dino riders.

Want much of a transformer man though.

My favourite toy was my first bike i guess, my grandpa used to make bikes so he made it for my 4th bday or something. Then a months later my other grandpa ran over it in the driveway with his 4WD. He said it was an accident, BUT I HAVE MY SUSPITIONS....

So then i got a Diamond Back BMX and in a week i'd forgotten all about my old bike.

Easy one, LEGO! For years and years it's all I ever asked for, infact no one asked. They just bought me Lego. Still have it all too, in the roof somwhere.

I think my first fav would have to be this one - 1985 Galaxy Commander (6980)

Edit - Was just doing some reading, apparently old lego is worth a lot of money! Who would of thought hey. All my leg is over 20 years old

I never really had a favorite toy...I had horses...That was a bit more fun than toys to me...now i have cars instead of horses.... And my 4yr old daughter would much rather be in the shed helping to work on a car than playing with toys...hehe

LEGO LEGO LEGO....i had ton's of teh stuff. Even had 2 milk crates full given to me my Dads first apprentice!! Then foolishly when i moved out of home i gave it to my younger cousins. Now i have a son of my own, i get to buy it all again...All STAR WARS LEGO!!!! >_<

Also i got addicted to the old "choose you own" adventure books....they were awesome!

I had one of these too....

All i wanted was a Atari....but i got stuck with the intellevison dog of a machine, cause my parents thought that it was more educational because it came with a keyboard. The intellevison died after about 6 months use.... I still tease my parents about their poor choice of gaming systems....you can still buy a Atari in stores!!

I had almost no toys. Progressed from an 1890 circa single shot Winchester .22 to a .303-25 to a full bore .303 and .243. I then Joined the Army so it was bigger rifles, grenades, explosives, rocket launchers, sniper rifles, machine guns, Leopard tanks and guided missiles.

Oh at 14 I got a 4 cyl Torana as a paddock basher. Loved sliding that on the dirt.

I also had this - the Fisher Price ATV.

There are photos of me getting it for my first birthday - and I remember having it until I was 7!

Bad. Ass.

Lots of the toys i had or wanted as a kid have all come back out again and now they are my nieces favorites like care bears, strawberry shortcake, cabbage patch dolls etc.

My brother had a bat-mobile and Gi-Jo though, barbie and Gi-Jo would go on dates in the bat-mobile  and he had heaps of those little plastic green or blue army men.

Here's a brief list of toys I regularly played with (a lot of these were hand me down from my brother from when he was a kid):

  • Galaxy Commander
  • Galaxy Explorer
  • An entire sack of other space lego
  • More Tecknik that I can poke a stick at inc a helicopter and the McLaren F1 car
  • Diecast 5 lion Volton
  • More Transformers than I care to remember
  • He-Man inc Castle Greyskull, Snake Mountain (with voice changer), and Battle Ram
  • Subbuteo (sp?), Polycomomy (sp?), Totopoly and many many more board games
  • Mr Frosty
  • Atari, NES, Sega Mastersystem
  • 300+ Matchbox cars
  • Apple 2+
  • Scalextric Daredevil Wall Climber and Highway Patrol sets
    edit
  • Tamiya Hornet race car
  • Star Wars figurines inc multil level Death Star base, XWing Fighter, Tie Fighter, Y Wing Fighter and many other addons!

That's all I can think of now but I'm sure there was much more I used to play with. Damn I was a spoilt child... Lucky I turned out ok

hmmmmmmmmmmm... wonder if my mate in NZ who was a lego freak has all his.

He had a large sized bedroom FILLED with lego... he had a lego country in there... roads, mountains, rivers a lake... it was rediculous... even back then (about 12 years ago) we are talking around 15,000 dollars worth.

the room had a walk in robe which was about the size of a small bedroom which was the "moon" where all the space stuff was... like i said... rediculous. it was like a lego museum... but god dam it was fun

Leewang - judging by the completeness of that list, I would say you went home and looked along the shelf in your bedroom with the laptop in hand :)

I have a Sega Mastersystem II and Megadrive set up in my apartment now with a draw full of games. They are all so cheap now! Scary thing is I used to pay the same for a Mastersystem game 11 years ago as I do for a 360 game today.

i still have it somewhere... Zelda and Punch out still get a work out every now and then

oh love talking about 80s related stuff...

I grew up with, transformers, voltron, my little pony, carebears, he-man & she-ra, micro machines, matchbox cars, lego, duplo..

I had the she-ra castle as pictured and the following figurines.. some of these are actually worth a quite a bit now days.. I'm so hoping mum still has it all stored up in the roof with some of my other toys...

Ive still got the complete voltron toys, except i'm missing his sword.

Also have a complete optimus prime toy and the tyranasaurus rex one from transformers..

and some of my pound puppies are still floating around somewhere, I know my old dog got hold of a couple and ripped them to bits..

The Frog!

Awesome!

I washed cars up and down the street for about 4-months to buy the Grasshopper, then about 2-weeks after I got it - dad came speeding down the drive and crushed it :)

I'm not afraid to say there were tears...

But then, a few weeks later - dad came home from work with THIS!

It is in our backyard even today ;)

Free to good home!

    • just an update to this, poor man pays twice  Tried sanding down the pulleys but it didnt do the trick. Chucked another second hand alternator in the na car which I got for free off my mate and its fixed the squelling. Must have been unlucky with the bearings.    As for my turbo car, I managed to pick up a cwc rb alternator conversion bracket + LS alternator for 250 off marketplace, looked to be in really good nick. Installed it , started the car and its not charging the battery.... ( Im not good with auto elec stuff so im not sure if this was all I needed to do but I verified such by using a multimeter on the battery when the engine was running and I was only getting 12.2v )   I had to modify the earth strap for the new LS alternator , factory earth strap was a 10mm bolt which did not fit the bolt on the LS alternator which was double the size so I cut it off , went to repco bought some ring terminals that fit, crimped it onto the old earth strap and bolted it up to the alternator , started the car and same issue. Ran like shit and was reading 12.2 at the battery.  For a "plug and play" advertised kit thats not very plug and play but alas.  My question is , am I missing something ? Ive been reading that some people recommend upgrading the stock 80 amp alternator fuse to a 140 amp but I dont see how that would stop the alternator charging especially at idle not under load.  Regardless ive pulled it out and am going to get it bench tested by an auto elec tomorrow but it would be handy to know if ive missed something silly or have done something wrong.
    • My wild guess is that you have popped off an intake pipe....check all of the hoses between the turbo and the throttle for splits or loose clamps.
    • Awesome, thanks for sharing!
    • To provide more specific help, more information is needed. What Android screen? What is its wiring diagram? Does the car's wiring have power at any required BAT and ACC wires, and is the loom's earth good?
    • So, now all you need to do is connect the 2 or 3x 12v feeds into the unit to permanent 12v, ACC 12V and IGN 12V that you can find in the spot behind the stereo, and the earth, and then it will switch on with the car.
