+1 for the WipeOut love. I've been waiting for a new WipeOut game for ages. I own WipeOut Pure on PSP..... but I don't have a PSP! (yet). If they do announce a PS3 version, I just couldn't say no.

Owww yeah! I read that Wipeout for PS3 has been confirmed so cannot wait! :D Will be so insane for sure, every wipeout game has been awesome & only ever bettered the previous.

i'm sorry, but wipeout is gay.

Not loving wipeout would make you the gay one :P;)

On another note, bought me a 42” 1080p LCD from JB HiFi today :D :D!!!

Only problem is I do not get it until Tuesday / Wednesday due to stock delivery. They hooked up a PS3 to the display one at JB & OMG..., it’s going to be the best gaming experience ever :D Going to mount it on my wall @ the end of my bed. Gaming in bed, Blue Ray movies in bed, owwwwww yeah :D I'll feel similar to those rockstars on MTV cribs who having big LCDs popping out at the end of their bed ;)

nice work. what brand, and what price could they do for it? PS3 on a 1080p lcd is tha shizzle. no doubt about it.

My brother is staying with me for the week so this week instead of the PS3 being hooked up to a standard tv through sony surround sound it is hooked up to a projector and sony surround sound..... DAMN THE PICTURE IS BIG

If wipeout fusion on PS2 is compatible to be played on the PS3, I'm so going to buy that game, always thought wipeout was one of the best games sony had & nobody else ever got! Excellent graphics, awesome music from famous DJs, & how could you ever forget the speed! :| that sh#t will give you epilepsy!

other consoles got wipeout too although not since fusion

Playstation 3 on 42" 1080p is blowing my mind. I’ve got it in a dark bedroom at the end of my bed with the lights off & it’s just like a theatre!! Couldn’t believe I actually felt like I was in a theatre in my own bedroom, always thought the ‘home theatre’ term was just an exaggeration, now I understand home theatre :) So happy with my recent purchases, worth the dough for the entertainment for sure.

I don't know what's more incredible... the graphics & realism of GT HD, or the fact that we live in a age were a common man can purchase a video game system & experience racing simulations so close to life just for his amusement… just to kill time, pretty incredible really. Image if it was the old days & all we had was a f#cking ball in the cup game.

GT HD is very fun racing & drifting but isn’t all just about the racing, they’ve put a lot of effort into the car display viewing, this is enough to have you dreweling for hours, the detail to exterior & interior is incredible. Then there’s the replays, I’ve sat there for 30 mins just watching the title screen run random demo replays. If you enjoy watching motor sport on TV, you’ll actually appreciate the demo replays in this game! That’s how good they are.

By the time Playstation 4 comes out they’ll have realism conquered for video game consoles no doubt about it, they’re about 90% there now which is incredible to watch & experience.

I stress that if you have a PS3 or going to buy one, budget in $$$$ for a 1080p LCD screen too if you don’t already have one as anything under this resolution just will not do the PS3 justice. The console was designed for True HD & that’s what is should run with.

720p, not good enough, although still very impressive, 1080p FTW.

hahaahah GT is so unrealistic it's dumb.

Like i've said before you barrell towards a rope fence at 200 kmph and people just stand there clapping.

That doesn't seem very realistic to me.

Yeah and 720P isn't good enough, but more than half of the games on the console only run at 720P or lower. Nice one sony.

Don't get me wrong i am at heart a sony fanboy but the console is yet to prove itself, expect in blue ray movies.

Ummm how long has the PS3 been out for?? Under a year! Like you can expect games to be running at their 100% capability yet. 1080p is a bit of a jump so it doesn't surprise me most are 720p so far, that will change though.

Stop being a negative nancy kralster, are you honestly going to tell me that if you bought a PS3 you’d be disappointed with it!? I don’t know how you could be, sure it’s not perfect but what f#cking is, it’s a huge leap over the last console, appreciate it for what it is!

in gthd do you race with incar view or behind car view? something I noticed when playing tonight is the audio track is different between the two. Test it out on the R32 GTR.

Yeah, the audio is different in all cars between the views, they're simply trying to make the sounds sound realistic in relation to the view position. Sounds awesome & I wouldn't complain at all, but GTR 2 on PC probably has the best video game car sounds I've heard, screaming MC12 engine... owwwwww yeaaaaaaaaaah.

you still didn't tell me which LCD you bought? very curious, and what do you think of it?

Soniq QSL420T 42" DVB-T LCD TV

1080p with built in HD TV

Contrast Ratio 1200:1

Brightness 500nits

Response Time 6.5ms

I think it's amazing! & so do my peers who see it in action, incredible product for the money. Soniq doesn't produce their own LCDs so the panel will be out of an LG or Samsung or something, I really don't know for this model. It looks great so that's all I care :D

My dad just bought a Sony Bravia X series LCD. 1080p, true HDMI, 46inch, 1920x1080 pixels :( When I get my PS3 its going to look rad as!

http://www.cnet.com.au/tvs/lcd/0,239035307,240091742,00.htm

Here the link, its truely the best TV i have ever seen. PS3 here i come!!!

can i ask how much u payed for it buddy im guna buy a decent tv as soon as i get my ps3

I got mine for $2500 at JB HiFi with 5 years warranty. Incredible product & deal for the money, I did talk the sales guy down a couple hundred so you may have to too.

A Sony screen like Whyallapunk dad's is very nice no doubt about it, but when you compare the thousands of dollars difference, I could never purchase a Sony LCD screen unless I was very rich or somehow got a very VERY good deal. Some argue that the Sony screens are actually too bright as well.

When I was shopping for my new 1080p screen the Soniq was 42" & 6.5ms response time, the Sony was a little smaller at 40", a little slower at 8ms, & a lot more expensive at $4200 'with standard 1 yr warranty'. Go figure...

The problem with 1080p is that even though the graphics will undoubtably look sharper and better than a 720p game, 720p has a better frame refresh rate than 1080p, and always will (on our current tv's atleast). So i think we'll find most games will only go up to 720p on PS3, with the few exceptions.

Not true.

720p & 1080p both run 60 FPS.

You may be mistaking 1080p with 1080i or even 720i, if theres 'i' it's interlaced & means half the frame rate of progressive scan pretty much due to it taking 2 frames to produce one complete frame, do a search on interlacing for more info. 'p' is progressive & depending on the game, 50 or 60 FPS. Always depends on the source, movies are only around 24 FPS. 1080p screens certainly can display 60 FPS from PS3 1080p games.

    • Update 3: Hi all It's been a while. Quite a lot of things happened in the meantime, among other things the car is (almost) back together and ready to be started again. Things that I fixed or changed: Full turbo removal, fitting back the OEM turbo oil hardlines. Had to do quite a bit of research and parts shopping to get every last piece that I need and make it work with the GT2860 turbos, but it does work and is not hard to do. Proves that the previous owner(s) just did not want to. While I was there I set the preload for the wastegates to 0,9bar to hopefully make it easier for the tuner to hit the 370hp I need for the legal inspections that will follow later on. Boost can always go up if necessary. Fitted a AN10 line from the catch can to the intake hose to make the catchcan and hopefully the cam covers a slight vacuum to have less restrictive oil returns from the head and not have mud build up as harshly in the lines and catch can. Removed the entire front interior just shy of the dashboard itself to clean up some of the absolutely horrendous wiring, (hopefully) fix the bumpy tacho and put in LED bulbs while I was there. Also put in bulbs where there was none before, like the airbag one. I also used that chance to remove the LED rpm gauge on the steering column, which was also wired in absolute horror show fashion. Moved the 4in1 Prosport gauge from sitting in front of the OEM oil pressure gauge to the center console vents, I used a 3D printed vent piece to hold that gauge there. The HKB steering wheel boss was likely on incorrectly as I sometimes noticed the indicator reset being uneven for left vs. right. In the meantime also installed an airbag delete resistor, as one should. Installed Cube Speed premium short shifter. Feels pretty nice, hope it'll work great too when I actually get to drive. Also put on a fancy Dragon Ball shift knob, cause why not. My buddy was kind enough to weld the rust hole in the back, it was basically rusted through in the lowermost corner of the passenger side trunk area where the wheel arch, trunk panel and rear quarter all meet. Obviously there is still a lot of crustiness in various areas but as long as it's not rusted out I'll just treat and isolate the corrosion and pretend it's not there. Also had to put down a new ground wire for the rear subframe as the original one was BARELY there. Probably a bit controversial depending on who you ask about this... but I ended up just covering the crack in the side of the engine block, the one above the oil feed, with JB Weld. I used a generous amount and roughed up the whole area with a Dremel before, so I hope this will hold the coolant where it should be for the foreseeable future. Did a cam cover gasket job as the half moons were a bit leaky, and there too one could see the people who worked on this car before me were absolute tools. The same half moons were probably used like 3 times without even cleaning the old RTV off. Dremeled out the inside of the flange where the turbine housing mates onto the exhaust manifolds so the diameter matches, as the OEM exhaust manifolds are even narrower than the turbine housings as we all know. Even if this doesn't do much, I had them out anyways, so can't harm. Ideally one would port-match both the turbo and the manifold to the gasket size but I really didn't feel up to disassembling the turbine housings. Wrapped turbo outlet dumps in heat wrap band. Will do the frontpipe again as well as now the oil leak which promted me to tear apart half the engine in the first place is hopefully fixed. Fitted an ATI super damper to get rid of the worn old harmonic balancer. Surely one of the easiest and most worth to do mods. But torquing that ARP bolt to spec was a bitch without being able to lock the flywheel. Did some minor adjustments in the ECU tables to change some things I didn't like, like the launch control that was ALWAYS active. Treated rusty spots and surface corrosion on places I could get to and on many spots under the car, not pretty or ideal but good enough for now. Removed the N1 rear spats and the carbon surrounding for the tailpipe to put them back on with new adhesive as the old one was lifting in many spots, not pretty. Took out the passenger rear lamp housing... what do you know. Amateur work screwed me again here as they were glued in hard and removing it took a lot of force, so I broke one of the housing bolts off. And when removing the adhesive from the chassis the paint came right off too. Thankfully all the damaged area won't be visible later, but whoever did the very limited bodywork on this car needs to have their limbs chopped off piece by piece.   Quite a list if I do say so myself, but a lot of time was spent just discovering new shit that is wrong with the car and finding a solution or parts to fix it. My last problem that I now have the headache of dealing with is that the exhaust studs on the turbo outlets are M10x1.25 threaded, but the previous owner already put on regular M10 nuts so the threads are... weird. I only found this out the hard way. So now I will just try if I can in any way fit the front pipe regardless, if not I'll have to redo the studs with the turbos installed. Lesson learned for the future: Redo ALL studs you put your hands on, especially if they are old and the previous owners were inept maniacs. Thanks for reading if you did, will update when the engine runs again. Hope nothing breaks or leaks and I can do a test drive.
    • No those pads are DBA too  but they have colors too. I look at the and imo the green "street" are the best.
    • I’m not sure what happened I told them about sonic tunes free OTS tune and the next the I know .. I was booted..   To funny
    • Yea - I mean I've seen my fuel pump which is decades old and uh, while I'm not saying this with real knowledge... but I sure get the ick at using anything in the fuel system that produced the state of that pump. Many years ago I went through multiple pumps (and strainers) before I dropped the tank to clean it out with extreme violence. I'm talking the car would do maybe 50km before coming to a halt, which resulted in me cleaning out the filter with some brake cleaner and going on my way. None of my stuff ever looked like what came out of your fuel tank. I don't think I'd be happy with it unless every single component was replaced (or at least checked/cleaned/confirmed to be clean here).
    • I'm not going to recommend an EBC pad. I don't like them. Just about anything else would suit me better. I've been using Intima pads for a while now.
