Whats so great about GT-HD it's just GT3 with prettier graphics, nothing new!

The graphics are new! the 1080p is new! the wireframe modelling for everything on screen is new! The physics is new! If you don't think playing GT HD on a true 1080p screen is amazing well you may as well just be a negative party pooper about everything for the rest of your life. It’s a sad condition to only focus on the negative points when there are so many positives.

Lets take your favourite game, lets say it is Virtua Fighter 5 for example, lets say VF6 comes out in 5 years & the technology is so good that it’s real, it actually looks real, would you still be bitching about VF6 being sh#t & it has nothing new except the graphics? If you don’t care for graphics then there’s a pacman game out there awaiting you, you must be content with playstation 1 graphics for the rest of your life right?

Shout out to all gamer developers: fire all employees working in the graphics & realism division, we’ve just received word that kralster doesn’t care about graphics, he does not consider graphic improvements to be considered as new, our direction has been wrong all along, lets get back to work on improving Gran Turismo on playstation 1 now that we know kralster doesn’t care about graphics. :)

dude gameplay is as important as graphics, it's not ALL about graphics. F##K that if i have same gameplay as gran turismo 4 but just updated graphics, graphics is just eye candy. For me personally i'd rather more of both then just graphics. I wonder what ps3 fishflamin mongrels would have compared there ps3 gaming to xbox360 gaming if they didnt have gt5.

Yes I agree & GT HD does have both better Gameplay & Graphics :)

Wait a year & PS3 should have many games to compare vs 360, PS3 should come out on top as previously mentioned, it won't be a huge difference but it'll still have the upper hand.

Can we start a shit fight about Blu Ray vs HD DVD now because Blu Ray is going to kick HD DVDs butt!! :)

It doesn't have better gameplay.

One of the first things i noticed when playing GT HD was that the tyre screeching was from GT1 and that killed the mood for me.

Kinda like when your in the act and you think of work or something.

I'll go into more detail later but my mate just got here.

rofl!

goo fanboys!

^^^

hate to break it to you but i am first and foremost a sony fanboy, i have well over 100 original psx and ps2 games.

I'm just not stupid enough to believe that GT HD is any good, it quite simply is not.

umm?

have you played the R:FOM online? loading time is not long at all...

What do you want from launch title games?

ohh and fanboys are funny LOL!

Na man havent played Fight night round 3 on line with the PS3 I'm just saying if it takes a while to load the game therefore it will take longer to load a game on line and I have also owned a PS1, PS2, Xbox and an XBOX360 and have found that the 2 Xboxes do load a bit quicker than the PS3

why isn't it good?

gt:hd is not a complete game, it was a side project or something along those lines but they drop it. the physic engine has improved hugely. the graphics are better than gt4.

Also ur comment out the people not moving out of the way when u hit the wall. well i personal dont think that is very important. i dont play the game to crash into the wall... i play the game to drive fast around tracks, and it is so far one of the only games i've play that does this and does this very good (another game which does this good is GTR2)

dont get why people are knocking the system its only been out for abit. the real next gen title havnt even been rls yet

can some1 xplain the difference between gt1 and gt5 in terms of gameplay, all i can make of it is it just has (waaay) better graphics and updated cars the physics of the cars is much the same for now, then again im just going by gt5 demo it aint a full game yet. In the other hand we have forza 2 for xbox360 if any hasn't seen trailers of it, i recommend 2 see it.

Well 1st of all lets face it. GT is made for eye candy. It's supposed to look as real as possible. Dwells on performance, but I would say the main attraction to the game is the visual aesthetics. The look of the scenery and everything as you drive by. I am not a sony fanboy, but I was blown away the first time I played GT3-4. The visuals are was what immersed you and made the last games great.

Bottom line - GT is not the PS3, lets get back on track here :D no pun intended...

Fanboys make baby jesus cry.

AlphA - shoulda posted it!!! i woulda bought it :P

i got a 360 the other day but every game/dvd i put in it says Disc is un-readable.

I think PS3 is gonna be a console that only those who can afford it, will appreciate it. others are just jealous of ps3 owners cause they cant afford it, and its not a wise investment in their eyes.

Personally i think its worth it. it has blu-ray, arent blu-ray readers expencive anyway?

I dont care for GT... it bores me... but Resistance looks great. and FFXIII... show me a 360 game that has graphics anywhere near as good as FFXIII

even FFXII has better graphics than any xbox/360 game ive ever seen.

From my understanding the blu-ray player of ps3 has the shittest blu-ray chip compared to dedicated blu-ray player. and there has been comparison of splinter cell (double agent) ps3 vs xbox360 around gaming sites feel free to compare and be the judge.

why compare game which is a PORT? if the game was made for xbox360 then ported to ps3 of course it wouldnt be as good ...

meh doesnt matter if you dont like ps3 dont buy it  im happy with my purchase

Thats not what i've been hearing, quite the opposite actually. Alot of reviews are comparing the PS3's player to current stand alone players and the verdict is that its on par; and in some cases even surpasses the stand alone units.

The PS2's DVD player was junk, i guess they stepped it up with the PS3's player. And rightly so, seeing as the PS3 is the medium Sony are using to really get the head start on HD-DVD and try win the next gen movie wars.

Here is a link to one article i found.

    • Update 3: Hi all It's been a while. Quite a lot of things happened in the meantime, among other things the car is (almost) back together and ready to be started again. Things that I fixed or changed: Full turbo removal, fitting back the OEM turbo oil hardlines. Had to do quite a bit of research and parts shopping to get every last piece that I need and make it work with the GT2860 turbos, but it does work and is not hard to do. Proves that the previous owner(s) just did not want to. While I was there I set the preload for the wastegates to 0,9bar to hopefully make it easier for the tuner to hit the 370hp I need for the legal inspections that will follow later on. Boost can always go up if necessary. Fitted a AN10 line from the catch can to the intake hose to make the catchcan and hopefully the cam covers a slight vacuum to have less restrictive oil returns from the head and not have mud build up as harshly in the lines and catch can. Removed the entire front interior just shy of the dashboard itself to clean up some of the absolutely horrendous wiring, (hopefully) fix the bumpy tacho and put in LED bulbs while I was there. Also put in bulbs where there was none before, like the airbag one. I also used that chance to remove the LED rpm gauge on the steering column, which was also wired in absolute horror show fashion. Moved the 4in1 Prosport gauge from sitting in front of the OEM oil pressure gauge to the center console vents, I used a 3D printed vent piece to hold that gauge there. The HKB steering wheel boss was likely on incorrectly as I sometimes noticed the indicator reset being uneven for left vs. right. In the meantime also installed an airbag delete resistor, as one should. Installed Cube Speed premium short shifter. Feels pretty nice, hope it'll work great too when I actually get to drive. Also put on a fancy Dragon Ball shift knob, cause why not. My buddy was kind enough to weld the rust hole in the back, it was basically rusted through in the lowermost corner of the passenger side trunk area where the wheel arch, trunk panel and rear quarter all meet. Obviously there is still a lot of crustiness in various areas but as long as it's not rusted out I'll just treat and isolate the corrosion and pretend it's not there. Also had to put down a new ground wire for the rear subframe as the original one was BARELY there. Probably a bit controversial depending on who you ask about this... but I ended up just covering the crack in the side of the engine block, the one above the oil feed, with JB Weld. I used a generous amount and roughed up the whole area with a Dremel before, so I hope this will hold the coolant where it should be for the foreseeable future. Did a cam cover gasket job as the half moons were a bit leaky, and there too one could see the people who worked on this car before me were absolute tools. The same half moons were probably used like 3 times without even cleaning the old RTV off. Dremeled out the inside of the flange where the turbine housing mates onto the exhaust manifolds so the diameter matches, as the OEM exhaust manifolds are even narrower than the turbine housings as we all know. Even if this doesn't do much, I had them out anyways, so can't harm. Ideally one would port-match both the turbo and the manifold to the gasket size but I really didn't feel up to disassembling the turbine housings. Wrapped turbo outlet dumps in heat wrap band. Will do the frontpipe again as well as now the oil leak which promted me to tear apart half the engine in the first place is hopefully fixed. Fitted an ATI super damper to get rid of the worn old harmonic balancer. Surely one of the easiest and most worth to do mods. But torquing that ARP bolt to spec was a bitch without being able to lock the flywheel. Did some minor adjustments in the ECU tables to change some things I didn't like, like the launch control that was ALWAYS active. Treated rusty spots and surface corrosion on places I could get to and on many spots under the car, not pretty or ideal but good enough for now. Removed the N1 rear spats and the carbon surrounding for the tailpipe to put them back on with new adhesive as the old one was lifting in many spots, not pretty. Took out the passenger rear lamp housing... what do you know. Amateur work screwed me again here as they were glued in hard and removing it took a lot of force, so I broke one of the housing bolts off. And when removing the adhesive from the chassis the paint came right off too. Thankfully all the damaged area won't be visible later, but whoever did the very limited bodywork on this car needs to have their limbs chopped off piece by piece.   Quite a list if I do say so myself, but a lot of time was spent just discovering new shit that is wrong with the car and finding a solution or parts to fix it. My last problem that I now have the headache of dealing with is that the exhaust studs on the turbo outlets are M10x1.25 threaded, but the previous owner already put on regular M10 nuts so the threads are... weird. I only found this out the hard way. So now I will just try if I can in any way fit the front pipe regardless, if not I'll have to redo the studs with the turbos installed. Lesson learned for the future: Redo ALL studs you put your hands on, especially if they are old and the previous owners were inept maniacs. Thanks for reading if you did, will update when the engine runs again. Hope nothing breaks or leaks and I can do a test drive.
    • No those pads are DBA too  but they have colors too. I look at the and imo the green "street" are the best.
    • I’m not sure what happened I told them about sonic tunes free OTS tune and the next the I know .. I was booted..   To funny
    • Yea - I mean I've seen my fuel pump which is decades old and uh, while I'm not saying this with real knowledge... but I sure get the ick at using anything in the fuel system that produced the state of that pump. Many years ago I went through multiple pumps (and strainers) before I dropped the tank to clean it out with extreme violence. I'm talking the car would do maybe 50km before coming to a halt, which resulted in me cleaning out the filter with some brake cleaner and going on my way. None of my stuff ever looked like what came out of your fuel tank. I don't think I'd be happy with it unless every single component was replaced (or at least checked/cleaned/confirmed to be clean here).
    • I'm not going to recommend an EBC pad. I don't like them. Just about anything else would suit me better. I've been using Intima pads for a while now.
